@@michaelthomas6280 Kind of like when they cut Dalvin Cook and failed to replace his production numbers last year... and it's looking like this year will be no different. Offense won't sustain drives, defense has even less of a proven front line from last season; so your cover guys will either have to be top of the league or they'll be sucking wind in the 4th.

Literally how lmao no way this team does that bad. Excluding being bias as a fan that only happens if everybody gets hurt. At worst they go 7-10 or 8-9. At best I can see them going in a bit of a revenge tour and going 10-7 or 11-6.

It gonna all depend on the defense and can we least be in the top 15 in rushing offense. If we can do that 11-6 is def possible.
I think the Vikings could have a down year, but that is pretty low. The defense is still probably going to be middle of the road and while Dallas Turner was a wonderful addition, if that entire front line cannot get pressure when not blitzing or if the cannot help when the blitz is picked up the defense will struggle. The offense could be good right away but might just need some time. Jones/Chandler might really hit a stride running the football but might struggle. JJ/Sam might do great getting the scheme and getting the ball to the weapons they have, but it could also take some time to grow into the system. A lot of the other teams did improve too. I am kind of prepared they could go 6-11 or 11-6, but I am hopeful in the next couple of years they can get something together that is really dominant and can make a serious bid at a Super Bowl.
Yeah 6-11 to 11-6 is most probable, probably closer to 6-11 with this tough schedule. The Vikings have done almost a complete overhaul in three years, replacing 10 starters on defense and I think 8 or 9 players on offense. They have gotten much younger and need to learn haw to win as Vikings. If they go 6-11 or maybe even very possibly 5-12 they will have another top ten draft pick to add to the two top ten picks we got this year. Next year we need to draft nothing but big offensive lineman and defensive tackles. Vikings will be a very good team next year and beyond. That’s when they will probably get there first Super Bowl. I’d be so happy with a 3-14 season, if we’re competitive in most of those games.
It’s a transition year. We aren’t supposed to be competitive and most likely won’t be. 3-14 lands us a top 5 pick, maybe #1 overall, where we get the best player in the draft or trade it for multiple firsts to completely change our future.
Then we get $120 mil in cap space on top of that. And JJ is gunna sit anyways, so we can just say it was Darnolds fault.

I was thinking the same thing. Everyone wanted to tank last season and although I understand why, I think our schedule was easier last season. I say 6 or 7 wins at the most. That’s if our defense or special teams wins a couple. Probably easier to justify losing games this season…

I suppose it "could" happen - anything's possible. But this team won seven last year with questionable QB play, bad injuries, and an improved but still not great defense. I think the worst they do this year is match last year. I think the D takes another step in the direction of being Top 10 under Flores, and I think the offense should be at least AS good as last year (a LOT depends on the O-line, which worries me). 3-14 is an insult from a hater, I'd say. Around .500 would be more realistic. And something like 10-7 would be a solid season. But that's why they play the games, right? Let's talk again in December/January! 😀🏈

How quickly the QB situation takes place will determine the number of questions and doubt people have. If it takes all the way until week 1 to name a starter, I'll say worry is warranted. If the workouts and training camp reveal an obvious starter I will be less worried

I really don't care if they do. '24 is just the setup for '25 and beyond. It should be clear to anyone that 2025 is what KAM has been aiming for. He's got a QB now who can sit and learn for a year, he's wiped out all the dead cap space that held them back, he's got a boatload of money to spend next year, and he'll have a very high #1 and #3 pick if they DO go 3-14. 2024 may or may not suck, but watch out for 2025!

Lol so dumb...if anything, take the QB situation away(and I think that will be just fine) I look at the team now vs the end of the season, they only have improved. There is no part of this team that hasn't stayed the same or gotten better. I think the haircuts, again are severely underestimating them. Also, I think the lack of moves in the o-line is large part because of the QB and the evaluation of who it's going to be. They are going want to build a complementary o-line for JJ, but they don't know what that is going to look like yet. Also, my opinion, but Kirk was a big part of the o-line issues. On normal drop backs once he planted he was there until he threw the ball or he was hit, if he did escape, you just cringe.

They obviously have no confidence in Darnold. Darnold is mediocre. He is not terrible. However, I could easily see him keeping most games close, but losing most games because of fumbling and ints at the wrong time. If Darnold, loses the first 8 or 9, we need to put in JJ and let him lose the final 8 or 9 so that we get the 1st pik 2025. We will draft Carsen beck, Drew Allar or Donovan Smith. Big strong QB's. We would cut Darnold of course.
