Realistic Andy! 11-6 is not out of the realm of the possible. Our D should be as good as anybody's and the O, should be good as well. 8-9 at a minimum and 12-5/13-4 as a ceiling. Excited about the chances this year, because of the D, and the off chance, we may actually use the RUN this year to set up the play action pass (JJ's strong suit). The D has a chance to be very special this year, to dominate and be that strong compliment to the O. SKOL Vikings!

I think alot of people aren't tracking that the vikings are predicted to be a top 3 defense in the league this year with all the new additions. The offense is changing to a more balanced run/pass offense and we picked up the RB who has the most YPC average in the NFL. It's going to be exciting for sure, definitely can't wait!

I'm with you here! I like Darnold's chances to do great... and I hope he does. But, I also think he will become trade bait for a QB needy team with an injury at that position if JJMc is ready to roll by the trade deadline. Maybe the Vikings can get a 2nd and/or 3rd for Darnold and re-coup some of the draft capital for 2025.
I feel the same way. He hasn't been in any good situations so maybe now, with a good QB minded coach and a ton of weapons, he can put up something. I'm not expecting him to put up MVP numbers but I'll take middle of the pack

I went back and watched a ton of his games with Car. and he was dimin throws. All timing routes too. He's not a sluff by any means, and he has a lot to prove why he was number 1 at one time.
He has all the talent, but has never been able to rectify the turnover deal.

I'm really glad the schedule is much more consistent than last year. We had too many off-schedule (TNF, SNF, MNF, 4:30) games last year. There's no way to get any momentum playing games all over the clock.
Diggs, Hunter, Davenport & Cousins all making their returns to MSP looking to have the games of their lives....

I made my prediction at a 12-5 season.. not too far off
Looking at this schedule I have the Vikings going 6-11. I just don't think they're going to be a good, complete, cohesive unit this year.
They had 7 wins last season with 4 QBs taking snaps, a hurt justin jefferson, and a worse defensive unit with a harder schedule.
Schedule is set up tough for Darnold. Halfway through, it becomes much easier so I am betting that's when McCarthy will take over.
If Darnold loses the first 9 games, which is highly possible due to tough opponents, I say we let JJ play the rest of the season, and let him lose 8 more games, because of inexperience. We will get the first pick in the draft, and we should pull a falcon, and take the best available QB!! Carson Beck probably, or Dillon Gabriel, or Dylan Raiola if he comes out. That would be Awesome!!

The Vikings keys 🔑 to a successful 2024 season is having the interior portion of the offensive line staying healthy. San Francisco and the Lions have better interior lines than the Vikings with Green Bay as well. The Vikings record will be 9-8 in 2024.

Really good teams go at least .500 on the road. You have us 4-4 on the road; 7-2 at home. IF that were to happen, great. Vikes are 24-17 at home over the last 5 seasons - .585. 9-8 or, optimistically, 10-7 seems more realistic. The souped-up D is going to be the key. Can they keep us in enough games...?

Vikings and fans better right the ship with home games; 2 and 6 last year. You have a 6 - 2 (London out) home record. I think at best 4 - 4 at home. I think 7 - 10 overall.
I said the same record 11-6 + a upset in the playoffs and a close lost from JJ M and people start respecting the Vikings finally

If McCarthy wins the starting job in training camp: 10-7 and competing for a playoff spot.
If KOC holds McCarthy back, refusing to start the best player (like Mattison-Chandler), Vikings start 1-4 with Darnold. Under intense fan backlash, ownership forces KOC to start McCarthy after the bye. Vikings go 7-5 the rest of the way with McCarthy looking strong down the stretch. They finish 8-9.
Fans are optimistic heading into 2025.

I c the NFL couldn't let us have 9home games , since jets home game is n London , they dogged a short bye week ,and flooded them with 3 hard games in the first 4games subtract NY, to where we might start out 1-3 again , i c it as 3-3 division 3-2 afc nfc 7-5 , but with all the changes on both sides of the ball who the hell would know how there season will turn out , this is probably there biggest big name changes ever , I'm glad they at least attempted to compensate all the losses , and did excellent in the draft & maybe get a few udfa jems ,that mercer wr james they could use him & big enough to be a blocker & the dude has hands

Assuming all of the top players stays healthy all season, this team will go 10-7 or 11-6. And I don't see the Texans beating us at home. Stroud is still a young QB and I can see Flores' defense come at him with everything and he'll make lots of mistakes in that game. As for the negative "fans", I don't get why they're still cheering for the Vikes if they're going to be all negative about the team. These are the people who'll criticize the team for winning the Super Bowl by 3 points instead of blowing out the opponent. They love being miserable. 😂
