Tip: Before you open the oil drain pull out the dipstick. This will allow the oil to vent for better flow. Also keep in mind a new oil filter is devoid of oil, After you put in the oil run the engine for a minute or two and check the oil again. Chances are you will have to add more oil. Nice video! Best Regards, Jay
Thanks so much! Just accomplished my first oil change in my cub cadet thanks to you. The dipstick was hard to read afterwards and kept looking overly full although I had only put one quart in. This was the only confusing part! Thanks again :-)
It's unfortunate that the oil filter faces inwards on some of these Kohler engines rather than upwards; the upwards facing filter looks like it would be easier to put on and take off without making a mess.

The side of the filter says to fill it before you put it on does it matter?
@@kevinmurrayism Yes it does, in this case the oil filter is side mounted. It's just about impossible to pre fill it then install without spillage.

Thank you. No one else had that spout that I have on mine. You helped me figure it out!
Thanks so much ! I’m female and love my cub cadet mower and I really appreciate you posting this. I did an easy oil change 🙂👍🏻
thank you just getting ready to do mine . Your video makes it easy.
Thanks - great video. I'm looking at the XT1 50 or Xt2 so this helps. Also, oil will drain much faster if the dipstick is pulled out first.
I have the XT1 50. It’s a beast for seasonal lawn care and low maintenance. Surprisingly quick so watch out if the kids drive.
Thanks. Very cool intro & ending.
Thanks for making this. Short and to the point.
Turn the drain plug right to close it ?
What kinda oil filter did you use
What’s the wrench size for the oil filter?
Great Video, thankyou for sharing, very helpful..
This is great. Thanks.
Thanks for the vid. Very useful.
Nice video I have the same mower I just inherited
Just to be clear, you don't have to use the kohler brand oil. Use your favorite brand 10w30
Very helpful thanks man
Very helpful 👍
Thank you!
Do you need to turn the yellow deal some way ?
