That’s a great attitude Amber. Too many women perceive their experience as negative just because they had their heart set on a certain scenario. I hope you have a positive one, where you feel supported and informed and taken care of. That’s what I found that you need, regardless of how labour and birth goes. And obviously a healthy mum and baby at the end.

Thank you. Of course I’d love scenario A but it doesn’t always happen that way. Hopefully I stay this calm about it and don’t have a wobble nearer the time! X

Fingers crossed, Amber! I had a baby girl as well in July, it had to be a C-section because she was breech until the end. Turning her around was not possible due to the lack of space available in the womb. It should have been a planned C-section in the 39th week, but I ended up in labour on my own in week 38, my water broke, so they did an emergency C-section (emergency just because it was not planned in that day). Since this was my first time giving birth, I had no idea how it's going to feel. The last weeks / days of the pregnancy felt like I really want it to end, so it felt natural to get in labor - before I was very ok with just being pregnant, I had a great experience like you as well during all the weeks, apart from the last one, let's say - since I started getting contractions, it was just too much. I was scared to get a C-section (my first ever surgery), but once I ended in labor, I was pretty much begging to have them stop the pain from the contractions, it was just too much. After the aesthetic kicked in (in a few seconds), I got a huge smile on my face and I said that giving birth naturally is a scam (lol, I know it's not like that, but I was just so happy on the spot to not feel those contractions anymore). The C-section went great and indeed, the recovery is not really nice, especially in the first days. It was hard to imagine that it will heal so fast and I will be able to walk and do most of the things in the next days, but it did happen. The only downside (for me) of C-sections now, after having experienced one, it's the fact that you are more at risk of complications due to the scaring of the uterus in case of a future pregnancy. Obviously, every pregnancy has its own particularities and the right decision kind of takes itself as the moment of birth approaches. Long story short, if you end up having some anaesthetic (a spinal / epidural) or even a C-section due to the baby being breech, it will, very most likely, be ok. You are 100% safe in the hands of the doctors and the baby experiences birth very peacefully, with less risks - not to mention the risks of a breech natural delivery. Hugs and all the best with the delivery, I hope it all goes smoothly! 🥰

Thank you. Absolutely have no doubt I’d be in good hands, it just isn’t my option and I think after years of infertility and medical intervention, I’d like to give my body the chance to do some of this “naturally” and without intervention, so we will see. What will be will be 😊😊 thank you! X

@@AmberIzzo yup, makes perfect sense. I would have done the same, if it was not for the breech, my initial plan was a natural birth, at the hospital, with an epidural. In compensation, if you end up with a C-section, there is the option of breastfeeding, if it's working well. In any case, fingers crossed! I look forward to seeing updates!

Your plan sounds fab, pretty much same as my first birth plan and despite all I did get it, so it is possible. This time round I'm going for a homebirth. But my mind is open to most eventualities apart from induction and Forceps 😬😆 Not long for you now, here's to a calm birth X

Thank you! How lovely for you to give birth at home ♥️ I think it’s lovely if that suits you, I just know I’d be worried the midwife was judging the chipped paint on my banister or the colour of my kitchen, or I couldn’t offer her a brownie, hahaha! Xx
