Robert Smith would travel from The Cure Pornography'' tour in Scotland by taxi to do these gigs with Siouxsie. This just about broke The Cure. But what a legend he is. He was on so many drugs at the time the doctor said "what ever you are taking, you better stop'". This was at the same time The Cure were touring with the 'Pornography' album. Half the band were in the trucks with the roadies and half were on the bus. I'm so glad The Cure are still around.

    Little orphans in the snow
With nowhere to call a home
    Start their singing
    Waiting through the summertime
To thaw your hearts in wintertime
    That's why they're singing
Waiting for a sign to turn blood into wine
The sweet taste in your mouth -- turned bitter in its glass
    Israel... in Israel
    Israel... in Israel
    Shattered fragments of the past
Meet in veins on the stained glass
Like the lifeline in your palm
Red and green reflects the scene
    Of a long forgotten dream
There were princes and there were kings
Now hidden in disguise -- cheap wrappings of lies
Keep your heart alive with a song from inside
    Even though we're all alone
We are never on our own when we're singing
    There's a man who's looking in
And he smiles a toothless grin
    Because he's singing
See some people shine with glee
    But their song is jealousy
Their hate is clanging -- maddening
In Israel... will they sing Happy Noel
    Israel... in Israel
    Israel... in Israel
In Israel will they sing Happy Noel

What do you think her song/poem "Israel" mean?
I can interpret it in a few ways. One way: Since it's highly symbolic, "Israel" may refer to it's Hebrew meaning "Wrestles with God." How Israel, a metaphor for a world who wrestles with God....but there's still a lot more there....

I can see people jumping up and down and really enjoying themselves. Broke my heart when the Cure were playing 100 years at Glastonbury and all people could do was to take selfies in their mobile phones.

Last time The Cure played Glastonbury was 1995, years before the advent of camera phones.

Years ago the NME did a Q&A with Robert Smith. Emily Eavis’s (daughter of Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis) question was ‘when are you going to come and play Glastonbury again?’
Smith replied that he’d been reliably informed that Michael Eavis had let it be known, years before, that the Cure were barred from playing Glastonbury ever, ever again! I’ve got no idea why not, but that’s what Smith claimed

@@greva2904 The Cure are one of the favourites to headline in 2019.
It's more to do with Smith not enjoying Glastonbury. He believes it's poorly organised for starters. As he says though 'There's plenty of other festivals'
He's not said it isn't going to happen though...

Must add, that with the bookmakers, The Cure are joint favourites with Paul McCartney to headline both at even money.

Yep,the main reason I've listened to them for nearly 30 years is because they were never that one dimensional. And this is probably the most beautiful song I've ever heard.
