Thanks very much Mary Paige. Usually when I get a new plant I divide it across a few tanks if I have enough of it. Means there's more chance of it being successful and learning a bit about it too. Might help if you do that if you get to try it again. I hope you do too. 🤞

Hi Daniel. How are you Sir? Very good plant Profile. I have never used Guppy Grass for any set up, however I know that it is a very good plant and all for the same reasons you have mentioned. If anybody has a Large African Cichlid Aquarium with a Sump they could always put some Guppy Grass in there and that will do the same job. I appreciate your share, thankyou very much. Your video has just been given the #19th big 👍 up. Stay safe and take care Sir.
That's a great idea using it in a sump mate. I never thought about that since don't use them myself so thanks for adding that as an idea for others. Take care mate.
Thanks bud. I'd be happy to send you some to get you started if you want but as you'll know I keep snails in all my tanks so you'd need to consider that.
I have guppy grass running wild in all my tanks. It has taken over the entire tanks! I seriously have to trim it up. The small fish and shrimp love swimming through it. Like a jungle. But definitely needs a trim up.
It's a great idea. I did that with Anubias back in the day and that worked well too. Currently giving that a go with moss and the plastic mesh you get in croquet stores.
Dear Daniel: I got interested in this plant, several weeks ago, while watching one of your videos. Since then, I’ve called every, pet store in my area, looking for it, with no success. I was going to purchase it from a seller, online. But, the seller informed me that he doesn’t include heat packs in his shipments. Then a friend a few states away managed to get some online and I’m hopeful he will sell me some, after the weather gets warm and his has propagated. If not, I may have another look at the online seller I first mentioned. I hope this plant will do well in my, alkaline water, which has a pH of around 7.8. Thank you for posting this, terrific, species profile video. All my best, Sincerely, E. J. Brinegar
Thanks very much E. J. I'm not sure of the temperatures where you are but it can stand lower temps for a short while. As you say though it's maybe worth waiting till you can be sure. I hope it works well for you in your water once you finally get it bud.
Dear Tanked Up: I agree. Most, pet stores are most interested in getting as much money as possible from individuals new to the hobby before they give up, in frustration. I have done business with a few, fine individuals, who owned pet stores. They understand the hobby and are willing and able to help. Sadly, I don't know of any, such stores, in my location, currently. Thank you for your help. All my best, Sincerely, Brinegar
If you are setting up a new planted tank it needs to age. The tank should be overplanted but unless you have a source of plants like water wisteria, it can be expensive. Guppy Grass is ideal as Danial pointed out it grows so rapidly. It is the best plant to age a tank, no horrible Algae When it looks settled and filled the tank it can be removed and other plants added.
Thanks you sir. I have a new planted tank, that I'm trying to cycle, and will be trying this plant. I have lowlights so I don't get algae blooms. Will that work with this guppy grass? Thanks
@@treasuringpricelesstime5962 I have found you don't need particularly high lighting for this plant so in that respect you should be fine. Hope you're enjoying your new planted tank.
Thanks for video! May I ask does guppy grass grow horizontally too? What is the distance needed between each guppy grass if I plant them into substrate?
That's exactly what I'm going to do. Setting up a 55g piece by piece but I'm planning on guppy grass, Java moss on my driftwood and amazon frogbit. I'd like red root floaters but I've never been able to keep it alive. It must be my water because I have great LED lights and where my salvinia is, there's no current or water movement on that side of the tank
Sorry Donald I only just noticed this comment. I just gave loads away but if you're still looking for some let me know. Might be able to send you some another time.
Hi. You mentioned water fertilizer if it's kept in soft water. Does that mean if in hard water it wouldn't even need that? Do you use fertilizer? Cheers.
Well water hardness refers to dissolved mineral content but fertilisers provided more than that so the will need some fertilisation. Depending on how heavily you're stocked sometimes your fish waste is enough to provide that. Essentially everyone's tanks are different so we need to dial it in with what we are working with. Wee bit of trial and error. My water is very soft and I do tend to use fertiliser in tanks with plants that feed from the water column.
I have tons of the stuff only downside is having other plants they will starve if they are leaf feeders but swords and the like need root tabs and will survive
@@AQUAGUYUK yeah but even within that there may be a choice between plant that may not go well together is what I mean. Like you may have to choose between Guppy Grass and Hornwort for a Guppy tank because one may out compete the other for example.

@BodMonGamers well it's all relative hey; the balance of nutrients, photo-period, etc will all have an impact on it's growth rate but generally (and for me) it's a very fast grower. It prefers calmer water and not too many changes in terms of water conditions.
