mommy always said there were no monsters, no real one's but there are, next shot a face hugger rising up. showing a real monster right in front you, perfectly edited
I love the additions you've added that flashback to Aliens from the 2:37 mark, and how you changed the hue from blue to red when it shows the queen alien for that brief split-second, edited perfectly when the scan shows Ripley's brain going nuts!!! It really gives that feeling of absolute dread and helplessness - it's almost like Ripley's subconscious is screaming at her to wake up, warning her of the events unfolding as she sleeps, giving her horrific nightmares of what happened on LV-426 whilst the alien facehugger attacks! My favourite thing is how you timed the sound of the explosion with the flashback of the queen, as the reverb sounds very much like the queen alien's warning hiss. I honestly wish this had officially been in the original film! Well done!!!
I find it amazing that virtually, NOBODY says or notices that the cryo-tubes in the start of ALIEN 3 are not the same design as the cryo-tubes seen at the end of ALIENS...
First thing I noticed when I saw the film in the cinema back in 1992.For the sake of continuation the cryotubes should have remained the same as they were in Aliens.
Its because Fischer was a Scott fan so everything to the Sulaco, cryotubes, even the color of space was reminiscent to ALIEN ... or perhaps its all Ripley's interpretation while she slept that everything was more Nostromo style versus Sulaco style.
For the beginning of ALIENS, they totally rebuilt Ripley's shuttle exactly how it was last seen in ALIEN, when it was originally demolished after the first movie wrapped up. For this movie, obviously they didn't bother rebuilding the Sulaco sets. Only just to get down to the planet - which happens to be close by when the EEV is being ejected - and on with the story.
It's been an absolute pleasure to see how diverse the fan base is over this movie, the love and the hate is almost 50/50 , I'm loving reading them all.
Ganz toller Film
Damn, that's good! The thing I love about these [first 3] films is the crazy high level of immersion (a rarity these days as spectacle has become paramount now). You can easily get lost in all of them. With this intro it's amazing to me how fast that happened - almost instantly. Well done.
For anyone interested , im doing alot of trailers on sci-fi movies when i can, Alien,Aliens and Alien 3 are already done and ready to watch, would love to hear your thoughts on them.
I loved the feel of the movie. Dark and foreboding, very immersive. Great performances from Charles Dance and Charles S Dutton. The most violent and hopeless of the franchise. Its a shame it wasn't understood by the majority of viewers. The directors cut improved it tremendously.
@@SniffHeinkel actually I think it gave the movie a sense of loss and hopelessness that is rarely seen big budget movies. Its a weird Frankenstein like creation that I strangely continue to remember fondly the older I get. Different, flawed and brilliant at the same time. Dark and somber. Moody orchestral track fits perfectly. Its glorious escapism
I rewatched this movie sometime around a few weeks to a month ago and the conclusion I came to was that it's a beautiful movie with great themes that are held back by a stupid plot hole that could've been fixed if they had a model of the shuttlecraft. (more on that in a moment) The point behind the dark tone of this movie is to emphasize that there's a point to every bad thing that happens, that every unpredictable catastrophe (like the opening) has a meaning. The themes of the movie are pessimistic, but not nihilistic. It's through Ripley's depression over Newt and Hix's death, and hopelessness for her inevitable death, that she gives her life for the betterment of Mankind by jumping into a furnace with the Queen inside her. Even if she killed herself over hopelessness and depression, she also kind of saved humanity from a horrifying fate. Her goal throughout this entire trilogy was to prevent the Aliens from getting to earth and killing everyone, and she does it in the most heartbreaking way possible. The theme of turning hopeless situations into heroic sacrifices is present throughout the rest of the cast to a lesser extent. I won't go into it too much, but it's present in most of the characters. However, it's hard to swallow these themes when the entire set-up of the movie is based on a situation that, as presented, couldn't have happened. The idea of the Queen sneaking an egg on board the ship is possible, but the movie makes it look like an impossibility with where the egg is supposedly hiding. If the movie showed the egg hiding in the landing gear where the Queen was hiding, then that would've made sense. Such a stupid plot-hole caused either by lack of intuition or lack of budget, and I doubt it's the former considering how brilliant the rest of the film is.
I don't agree that the location of the egg on the Sulaco makes the entire film fall apart. The egg's location is in an unusual position with it being tucked up in what might be an overhead area, which means the aliens know the humans' experience with these eggs is on the ground. Small detail, I admit, but the egg's unusual location means the aliens are learning and adapting which makes it plausible that they know how to hide the eggs from their prey and it makes this whole scenario is possible. I think you aren't giving the aliens enough credit for how intelligent they are. Otherwise I absolutely agree with the rest of your analysis.
I think more bothersome for me is the notion that it would have got past them. Now with the experience they would be doing triple and quadruple sweeps to make sure NOTHING was on that ship. A better solution is if bishop had a subroutine that even bishop wasn’t aware of, and he hid an egg in an unfindable place. But even then he would have frozen the egg to ensure it makes it back to earth. The problem is ripped in half he would have a hard time carrying out this subroutine. But maybe that’s what he was doing while off the landing platform.
@@SodiumWage my issue with the egg location isn’t how it’s positioned, rather that the Queen couldn’t have possibly gone down into the cryo-room to hide it there in the first place. I understand that these creatures can pull off sneaky things while we have our eye off them, but the issue there is that the movie never hid the Queen from us again after it had her way with Bishop. We would’ve suspected that she hid an egg in there if it went into hiding again during the climax, but it didn’t, so the beginning of ALIEN 3 looks impossible.
It's not only that In Aliens you can see the Queen ripping her eggsack off herself before going to chase Ripley and way before she got into the ship So the Queen had no way to actually lay an egg into the ship. The whole plot of Alien 3 contradicts what you already see in the previous movie
@@nodeberiaestaraqui93 None of any of that would’ve happened had Ripley not set fire to all of the Queen’s eggs. I didn’t understand that because the planet was going to explode anyway. So it was actually Ripley‘s fault. that the queen started chasing after them and ended up on the platform and got on the ship. I get that Ripley. had been through so much with these aliens and probably just took out her revenge to kill all the queens eggs but then by doing so put herself and newt in jeopardy. I was disappointed in aliens 3 when Ripley didn’t say, I am so sorry newt when she was looking at her in the morgue and examining her to see if she had an alien inside of her because newt did call her mommy in the end of the aliens movie. I read that it was Carrie henn that played in aliens, and then she was the dead little girl in aliens 3. People were pissed off that her character was killed off, but imagine a little girl on a penal colony, full of rapists child, molesters and murderers. With the storyline, it was the right thing to do.
I know right. For the opening of ALIENS, Ripley's shuttle was totally rebuilt to its exact detail, looking exactly where we left off at the end of ALIEN.
Love the fact that you’ve brought the audio track up in the mix (Fire in cryogenic.....etc) and I love your continuity from Aliens with Newt. Well done.
The Alien queen could not lay an egg without that tubular sac she was biologically connected too. The sac is where the egg matured before getting laid. This movie breaks canon and we should expect that it does. It’s like how facehugger to chestburster time is now 10 minutes.
Bit of a nerd alert here, but if you watch all of the credits in Aliens, you can actually hear a facehugger right at the end "crawl across the screen". Doesn't explain where it came from but it may suggest that there was 1 facehugger on the sulaco...even though I hate the idea.
I like your additions of ripley and newt it made it a little more chilling knowing she was about to drown. And the way you recoloured the stars from blue to brown from the Aliens shots. I like this film especially the extended version which felt like a different story. Very bleak, depressing more so than the first two.
Sorry for all my normal subscribers as this isnt a normal upload, but if not known im a massive Alien fan and i wanted to share something ive always wanted to edit as its Alien day coming up. The intro to Alien 3 i wanted. The films abit of a wash out but has a small place in my heart due to the mood and especially the movie score and the creature design is by far in my opinion the best.
You did great bro...the echoing voices, superb choice of the lines that were used and the quick flashbacks topped it off. You should be on some studios payroll if not already! This is the best opening to a movie for me. The Fox music changing to a higher drawn out intensity, coupled with the quick visual flashes between the credits...superb!!!
Alien 3 is still my favourite trying to take it back to the original one horrible black thing that dose nothing but short of hunting the darkest corners of your fears
The problem with alien 3 is…there is such a thing as too dark. It’s a thoroughly depressing movie coming off of Aliens which ended with Ripley getting a new family and ending her character arc in a satisfying way. Alien 3 throws Aliens out the window in terms of themes and in terms of the actual plot because it makes no sense why an alien egg ends up on the Sulaco. Killing off Newt, Hicks and Bishop was absolutely awful to the point that Ripley’s death meant less in the end if only because she had nothing or no one left to live for. Except Jonesy I guess.
How precious. Such a thing is too dark, in an alien film? Come on. I've been listening to people complain about Hicks and newt since the movie came out at the cinema. It's time to move on and look at the film for what it is.
@@Tripl3Cherri3sshe was convinced the queen was dead. Also, she was probably too focused on newt. I find it very plausible that she made a mistake . Also, she had just seen the queen. Didn't really have time to think it could lay another egg right there, specially after it "detached" itself from that tube.
@@robc9662completely disagree. Alien 3 was excellent, especially the assembly cut. I've been listening to people complain about Hicks and newt since 1992 when the film came out. At some point people have to get over it and examine the film on its own merits. And it has lots, despite the very troubled development. It has an amazing cast, incredible performances, excellent visual design, and a very poignant story for Ripley. And as much as people like to say this is some big betrayal of the series, Sigourney Weaver was on board for this. It's what got her on in the first place. And the idea that the film made the other two films meaningless because you didn't get the ending you wanted is banal. Alien 3 is full of meaning and pathos, but people are too obsessed about their fairy tale imaginings for Hicks Newt and Ripley that they can't see past it.
@@UberNoodle Alien 3 is shit. Horrendous writing that make no sense on how the alien egg get on board. Even the director dun bother give any sensible explanation and tell its viewers to "deal with it"
I guess it will always be a complete conundrum as to how an egg got onboard the ship. After you watch Aliens, no matter how hard you watch, it just never seems like there’s a legitimate place for there to be an egg placed onboard. The queen is showed multiple times right before the ship leaves and she’s carrying nothing. Plus she’s detached from her egg sack. Unless Bishop placed it there for the company? Just some glaring holes and the killing off of 2 great characters right off the bat. Still a classic franchise regardless. But that part just always bothered me.
This movie is so epic. The brutality and hopelessness of it puts your faith to the test. Which happens to be one of the themes of the movie. Personally this is my favorite of the Alien movies.💯❤
I never knew about the cow version until the special edition was released back then!! It gave it a more in-depth feeling to the aliens origin to this movie.
I hate this movie every fiber of my being. Killing off Newt and Hicks really pissed me off. Aliens was such an awesome movie with such a great ending and Alien 3 screwed everything up. To this day I'm still hoping did they do a remake erasing the events of Alien 3. Alien 3 should have been about Newt when she's an adult instead of continuing Ripley story.
I wonder what ever happened to the Sulaco. The EEV seemed to deploy pretty close to Fiorina 161but what happened to the Sulaco? Was it parked in orbit, did it de-orbit and collide with Fiorina, did it go its merry way back to a USCM base...
Makes it even worse imo. People hate Alien 3 mostly because they feel cheated by the fact they let Newt die and undid everything the Aliens movie stood for and what made it so emotionally satisfying.
Except the film didn't undo everything the series stood for. It undid Many people's happy head cannon ending, but that was never a given, and frankly, it's antithetical to what the alien story was all about. But I've been hearing the same argument since 1992, and it never changes. Meanwhile more and more people are getting over it and appreciating the film on its own terms for what it is. alien 3 especially the assembly cut does some very profound things with the story and the character of Ripley. It's ok that people are disappointed that Hicks and newt died, but at some point you've got to get past that and look at what the film is trying to say. And in the meantime, you can enjoy one of the best casts in any alien film, with some of the best performances, and an incredible set design aesthetic.
Nice. My only problem with Alien 3 is that it's never explained how the egg got there. Unless I missed something, it's never explained. The Queen only made it onto the Sulaco for the final fight sequence in the loading bay. Was it part of Burke's plan to have someone impregnated? Did he find an egg one of the colonists brought back? It's one of the most annoying plot holes in any franchise.
yeah that always pissed me off too, but in the game colonial marines dlc -stasis interrupted, it all plays out that the whole ship was infested, and its cannon lol
The ALIEN queen brought it with her it was a kind of last resource to keep the legacy ,she obviously didn’t had the proboscis it was an egg that was inside her ,she lay in the dropship before stabbing bishop.
@@cristianplaza1466 I can see your point. But the location of the egg in the intro of Alien3 is obviously not the dropship. It looks like somewhere in the locker room or something like that. So how come the egg from the dropship to the locker room?
@@tca90210 It’s supposed to play into the film’s religious themes, but with studio interference that got lost in the mix. The presence of the egg is to imply that so long as Ripley is alive, the Alien will survive too. She has to die if she’s to purge the universe of the Xenomorph. There’s no logical explanation because this film views the alien as a more demonic entity, than an animalistic bug.
@frankiegallaga447 hello anyway The Thing (1982) directed by John Carpenter scared me a lot more and put fear in my soul as a kid than all four of the Alien movies did as well:).
By far the most underrated part of the Alien movies. I loved it when it came out and it hasn't changed since. A lot of people criticize it, even though it is special in a good way in its atmosphere and story. What I couldn't love either then or since was Resurrection.
Resurrection was awesome movie tho. Full of weirdos, since it's in the far future, like 200 years after the first movie took place, but it was full of epic scenes, one of the bests in the franchise. The underwater hunting scene was a masterpiece, the hybrid too, the creepy design, the mother-child connection with Ripley, it's death scene, etc.. The scene when two aliens escape the "cage" by killing the third alien, the basketball scene was badass, and so on.. Could have been even better for sure, but whatever. I feel the same for Spiderman 3, I consider it one of the best ones in the Spiderman franchies.
I think thats what Neil Blomkamp wanted to do with Alien 5. I am still sad that despite being such a great franchise, most of the Alien movies are just horrible.
My main issues were, where did this egg come from? If everyone was in hyper sleep, what caused it to hatch? Why eject the crew from the Sulaco vs trying to put the fire out? You mean that huge ship had fire detectors, but no sprinkler system? We just saw a sprinkler system in the med lab in Aliens. You’d think that this huge ship would have one to.
The alien queen got on the Sulaco. I always assumed she took a single remaining egg with her. She attached it somewhere on the ship before her fight with Ripley. Not that hard too imagine really.
I have an issue a scene where there's an X-Ray of a skull with the facehugger wrapped around the victims face. The mouth bones of the skull should be open for the Facehuggers 'Proboscis' to enter the throat cavity, trailing down the victims throat. But the victims mouth isn't open. (Just a little gripe I have) ☠
More puzzling still, on the x-ray it shows the facehugger attached to the victim, and yet given the images we're shown it doesn't make sense. It couldn't be attached to Ripley's face at the time, as the following images show a close-up of Ripley's face with no facehugger attached, but it's also unlikely it's attached to Newt's face as she didn't have a chestburster inside of her when they performed the autopsy.
When you think about it, the escape pod crashing in the sea should pretty much kill anyone on board. I mean, wasn't that the purpose of parachutes on lunar capsules returning from space?
Ive made another version of this , with slight differences, like a moving face hugger that comes out the egg, let me know if you guys and girls want me to upload it?
I don't care what anyone says. Alien 3 directors cut is great. The fact they returned to a true horror flick and not an out and out action film was the right choice. And the Alien design in this film is breathtaking. Looks fantastic
Alien 3 was intended to be depressing as fuck. The death of Newt and Hicks begins this dark journey. A3 Assembly cut is a very good movie. 9 out of 10. Perfect and SAD ending of the saga.
I loved this movie when it came out in the 90's. I identified with it's aesthetic and tone when I was a teenager. As per usual of a gen-Xer i guess i kept that feeling to myself and found comfort in this movie as a fan of the Alien series and probably feeling isolated and alone as a person who was out of shape. It made being lonley strangely comforting, seeing the characters live that way on a planet isolsted from the network. The look and feel of it reminds me of benadictine monks isolated from mainstream society. Strange but true. I loved the opening, and the ending with Ripley's recorded narration. Just wish the alien wasn't so cgi. They should have kept it practical like Aliens.
The Alien wasn't CGI, it was a puppet with a blue screen, they just screwed the lighting abit , the only CGI part of the alien is when its dome cracks at the end.
i swear, alien 3's way of portraying space, Its like it's hell, vast, depressing, lonely, full of stars amongst darkness and death, the way the music is also dark, the yellowish green aura backgrounds of distant nebula, your edited version of the sulaco floating through space used from Aliens looks like it is actually part of 3, except, it looks much creepier, depressing like the 3rd then in Aliens.
Yeah I just love the look and feel of Alien 3. And while it's not a popular opinion I actually feel the assembly cut of 3 is a better film than aliens and people hate me when I tell them that.
In the comic. It was newt that was impregnated with the queen. After the eev crashed and newt drowned the embryo queen slithered out of newt and went into ripley.
The most astonishing part of all this is the likelihood that the escape pod crashes precisely where the prison on Fury 161 is located, even though the rest of the entire planet is probably empty and devoid of any human presence. Objectively, Ripley had better odds of winning the lottery!
If she crashed somewhere else on the planet, we wouldn't get this movie....but, she would have given birth to the Queen. The queen would dominate the whole planet with eggs eventually reaching the prison and boom , Alien planet !! :D
My idea for an alien tv-series is as follows: It takes place just before the events in the first alien movie and happens on a planet near where the nostromo spaceship is shipping ore. Weyland-Yutani is on the planet and have terraformed it for years, when they discovers a cave with lots of xenomorph eggs. One of them get's infected and a xenomorph is born. It turns out to be a queen, and a lot of the Weyland-Yutani humans are infected and then a war breaks out. All the humans on the planet are wiped out and only a few manage to escape in a spaceship. Then they nuke the planet from orbit. Then Weyland-Yutani regrets the decision and a hunt for the xenomorph begins. They get a tip that there's a crashed spaceship on lv426 and sends the robot Ash on the Nostromo spaceship. But they are informed that the mission has failed and that Nostromo has gone missing. Then Weyland-Yutani get's a tip about an xenomorph on Fiorina161 and sends a team of researchers there. They finds a surviving prisoner that is impreagnated and a queen is born. Weyland-Yutani then wants to use the xenomorphs on the planets where the engineers are located because they want the technology to seed planets with life. They also want the elixir that provides humans with prolongued life. After they have managed to give birth to a flock of xenomorphs, they drops them on an engineer planet and causes everyone of them to die. Then they get hold of the blue elixir that gives prolongued life. But several ships with engineers that where away from their planet when Weyland-Yutani wiped the population out, pursue them and manages to get the elixir back, but gets trapped on the planet where both parties crash. Then a battle takes place and the crew from Weyland-Yutani gets the elixir that gives them prolongued life for thousands of years, but they are now trapped on the planet, with no means to get anywhere. But then they see a light aproaching, but is the spaceship friends or foes ? It turns out it is the engineers and after a battle they gets hold off the blue elixir once again, and that gives the cliffhanger for a second season that we must wait several years to see???
You really think there’d be 3 survivors after the EEV crashed like that? Lol. Plus the actress for Newt was probably in her late teens by this time, wouldn’t have made sense that Newt woke up as a teenager from hypersleep lol
I hate to break to you,but I don't think Hicks would've lived even if the crash didn't do the job,as much as I loved Hicks and Newt Hicks was badly injured,I doubt he would've gotten the proper treatment for his injury,so he would've eventually succumbed to his wounds, and I highly doubt he would've been conscious long enough to be relevant in the film or to have any part in the film As for Newt,a prison like that ain't no place for her,she either would've died by the Runner Xenomorph, the royal facehugger, the prisoners,or even if she lived either Ripley Would've decided to give Weyland the Xenomorph in exchange for a normal life (Ripley saw that she couldn't live a normal life anymore and decided to end the Alien queen) and with newt being around she would've given the Xenomorph to them so Newt could've had a normal life despite the fact Ripley wanted to end the Xenomorphs and she knows that realistically speaking a normal life is impossible, with Newt around she would've been blinded by her emotions and decide to give the Xenomorph baby to them,or she decides to give them the Xenomorph baby,it comes out of chest and kills her,Weyland takes the Xenomorph baby regardless, and Newt is left all alone and we don't know what they would've done to her in the aftermath Or Ripley sees reality for what it is and decides to end her and the Xenomorph queens life, but either Newt also jumps in or Newt is left all alone
This is a very good edit to a movie that was the complete opposite in mood to its predecessor. As others have pointed out, the whole thing of an egg being left on board and not noticed is too ridiculous for me. But then again, the escape shuttle from the Nostromo not being discovered for 50 years is ridiculous too. Perhaps just as _Apocalypse Now_ was "never get out of the boat", _Alien_ is "never go to cryosleep".
fincher should see this movie as an accomplishment in his carer cos he had no script ,story, time and very little money to work with and the studio breathing down his neck to.
Why didnt the ship just eject RIbley pod as it was infected and not the others. Why not more synthetics personal on this large ship like Sulaco for maintenance.
Disclaimer: I absolutely love Fincher and think he is a genius. But so does Cameron- and more so- screenwriter, painter, cutting edge vfx and sfx wizard (but so does Fincher), editor etc. The list go on. Definitely - Cameron is a real versatile worldbuilder (like Scott and Kubric). Thus, as a respectful craftsman, Cameron respected in his turn the EEV design from Alien. Fincher is an amazing auteur but not commercial, not universal and NOT a worldbuilder. Hence, see below. Now, for the cryotubes design from Aliens departure, I blame it all on Fincher. As someone said, he was a big Ridley Scott fan and apparently, James Cameron- not at all. I can feel the disdain 😂. Maybe because Fincher was more artsy and auteur (pretty niche and noir approaching to his commercials), a kinda anarchic and nihilistic filmmaker that despised action movies (he never ever directed one), action filmmakers legacy and vision and ,incidentally, the craftsmanship that comes with it. However, Fincher got Cameron all wrong because there is as much (albeit hidden) nuance in Aliens as in Alien. The same for Terminator 1 films. (The movies that Fincher could judge Cameron, at the time). For Cameron’s career and success , the rest is history.
For me personally, I find alien 3 is the best film in the whole franchise. It sets the mood from the opening 20th century logo and never lets go of that fear of dread and helplessness. Killing newt and hicks was like a 1-2 punch combination that added to ripleys loneliness from the first movie. The way the film is shot with dark and camera angles was brilliant and the music score was tremendous. I wish someone would do a cgi version of Vincent wards original vision of the wooden planet with monks. The scene in wards version with the alien running through weet fields and the monks setting it all on fire would have looked amazing.
Couldn’t have said it better myself sir , the killing of newt and hicks really adds to the shock and makes the whole film dark and depressing from the beginning just as it was intended to be, not a repeat of the second film. I loved every bit of it
@@Generalkenobi325 totally mate. People hate on the film for the wrong reasons. The alien continues through the movies to take everything from her. well, its only one facehugger, the Royal implants a drone and a queen as it has that ability, as for the EEV crash, as far as the ship is concerned it was on fire and could explode(because apparently future ships don't use sprinklers XD ) and was unaware of Fury 161 , it just thought it was space, so no danger of it falling into orbit of a nearby system planet.
Everybody hates this movie for extremely nitpicking reasons, mostly being because they killed Newt and Hicks and Bishop While i do admit that this made me sad,i hate to break to you,but I don't think Hicks would've lived even if the crash didn't do the job,as much as I loved Hicks and Newt Hicks was badly injured,I doubt he would've gotten the proper treatment for his injury,so he would've eventually succumbed to his wounds, and I highly doubt he would've been conscious long enough to be relevant in the film or to have any part in the film As for Newt,a prison like that ain't no place for her,she either would've died by the Runner Xenomorph, the royal facehugger, the prisoners,or even if she lived either Ripley Would've decided to give Weyland the Xenomorph in exchange for a normal life (Ripley saw that she couldn't live a normal life anymore and decided to end the Alien queen) and with newt being around she would've given the Xenomorph to them so Newt could've had a normal life despite the fact Ripley wanted to end the Xenomorphs and she knows that realistically speaking a normal life is impossible, with Newt around she would've been blinded by her emotions and decide to give the Xenomorph baby to them,or she decides to give them the Xenomorph baby,it comes out of chest and kills her,Weyland takes the Xenomorph baby regardless, and Newt is left all alone and we don't know what they would've done to her in the aftermath Or Ripley sees reality for what it is and decides to end her and the Xenomorph queens life, but either Newt also jumps in or Newt is left all alone
Small electrical fire takes down huge ship. Why would there even be any oxygen present apart from in the cryotubes to fuel a large general fire given no one is awake. And why no fire suppression system lol
Plot hole in A3 is the Dog Alien took an hour to get incubated and the monster matured fast but the alien in Ripley took the whole movie and then some to hatch from her.
And the big question is, where the fuck did those 2 eggs came from !? No the Queen didn't have em' with her, watch Alien 2 again. And no Bishop wouldn't be able to get those 2 eggs from the Alien Nest either.
It was one egg. The super fave hugger injected the queen embryo first then the drone one to guard the host until the queen is born. As for when the egg itself came from. We don't see her not bring one with her and leave it on the drop ship after the planet explodes. It's a bit of a stretch but thats the only way to explain it. Unless Bishop did indeed bring an egg with him. He was in the lab for a while. Who knows what he found.
As someone pointed out, it really depends on what you view as "canon". Aliens infested the Sulaco between the events of "Aliens" and "Alien 3" in the game "Aliens: Colonial Marines", so they could have been planted during that time. Alternatively, it's possible that other aliens besides from the queen slipped on board the dropship whilst Bishop was waiting for Ripley to rescue Newt - after all, we saw that one managed to sneak onto the first dropship that crashed.
Funny how technically the concept of cryosleep is that it freezes you(basically killing you) and thawing you out later, so a facehugger would see her as a dead organism. I guess it did break the cryo chamber but still, it wouldn't activate unless it was near a living host that disturbed it.

Loved the use of newts voice to add more continuity with aliens
Didn't think anyone picked up the hiss , well done sir.
@@kjammo66 upgraded by the xeno whilst everyone was asleep.
Wow. Eagle Eye there Roadkill. Cheers!

I loved the feel of the movie. Dark and foreboding, very immersive. Great performances from Charles Dance and Charles S Dutton. The most violent and hopeless of the franchise. Its a shame it wasn't understood by the majority of viewers. The directors cut improved it tremendously.

That egg would have been seen a mile away before they went to sleep
I rewatched this movie sometime around a few weeks to a month ago and the conclusion I came to was that it's a beautiful movie with great themes that are held back by a stupid plot hole that could've been fixed if they had a model of the shuttlecraft. (more on that in a moment)
The point behind the dark tone of this movie is to emphasize that there's a point to every bad thing that happens, that every unpredictable catastrophe (like the opening) has a meaning.
It's not only that
In Aliens you can see the Queen ripping her eggsack off herself before going to chase Ripley and way before she got into the ship
So the Queen had no way to actually lay an egg into the ship.
I think with me the reason I had an issue with this beginning is because the sets weren’t the same.
i know what you mean, that did suck.
I agree, I think that was a terrible mistake that could have been easily avoided.
I know right. For the opening of ALIENS, Ripley's shuttle was totally rebuilt to its exact detail, looking exactly where we left off at the end of ALIEN.
Many things are done badly in this movie , it’s depressing.
It's supposed to be the same ship yet the interior of The Sulaco and the cryo tubes are different to the Sulaco in Aliens.

Takes me back to being around 12 I'm 27 this year 2020, the intro is boss the music
The Alien queen could not lay an egg without that tubular sac she was biologically connected too. The sac is where the egg matured before getting laid. This movie breaks canon and we should expect that it does. It’s like how facehugger to chestburster time is now 10 minutes.
relax, it's just a cat's dream.
Tenho a tese de, no caso da Ripley, o Alien não nascei tão rápido quanto nos demais filmes porque o facehugger (e o processo embrionário) devem ter sidos afetados pelo tubo criogênicos, mesmo que danificado.

Elliot Goldenthal did superb work. That soundtrack is one of my all time favorites!
Alien 3 is incomplet
The alien queen got on the Sulaco. I always assumed she took a single remaining egg with her.
How precious. Such a thing is too dark, in an alien film? Come on. I've been listening to people complain about Hicks and newt since the movie came out at the cinema. It's time to move on and look at the film for what it is.
@@frysause934maybe but it makes no sense that Ripley wouldn't check every square inch of that ship before she goes into hypersleep

The hell that Ripley went through, only to be infected anyway. This series ranks amongst the greats as far as sequels goes.
Disagree - third movie was horrible. A complete departure from the last. Made the last movie meaningless.

I hate this movie every fiber of my being. Killing off Newt and Hicks really pissed me off. Aliens was such an awesome movie with such a great ending and Alien 3 screwed everything up. Yep. Still hurts.

Awesomely done bro!!! Thank you for sharing this!

Doesn't exist as far as im concerned
It was a pretty good movie, not as good as the first two aliens. I found this one really sad especially the death of newt.. cool edit👍🏾
Is this the edit where Alien 3 is just a nightmare Ripley had in her cryisleep
would have been better to a certain point.
(Just a little gripe I have) ☠
Maybe the face hugger likes it rough
Maybe face hugger didn't want to do the nasty in front of a child
Quit griping!

I loved this movie and I still do 👌👌👌
My idea for an alien tv-series is as follows: It takes place just before the events in the first alien movie and happens on a planet near where the nostromo spaceship
is shipping ore.
Weyland-Yutani is on the planet and have terraformed it for years, when they discovers a cave with lots of xenomorph eggs.
One of them get's infected and a xenomorph is born. It turns out to be a queen, and a lot of the Weyland-Yutani humans are infected and then
a war breaks out.
All the humans on the planet are wiped out and only a few manage to escape in a spaceship. Then they nuke the planet from orbit.
Then Weyland-Yutani regrets the decision and a hunt for the xenomorph begins. They get a tip that there's a crashed spaceship on lv426 and sends
the robot Ash on the Nostromo spaceship.
But they are informed that the mission has failed and that Nostromo has gone missing. Then Weyland-Yutani get's
a tip about an xenomorph on Fiorina161 and sends a team of researchers there. They finds a surviving prisoner that is impreagnated and a queen is born.
Weyland-Yutani then wants to use the xenomorphs on the planets where the engineers are located because they want the technology to seed planets with life.
They also want the elixir that provides humans with prolongued life. After they have managed to give birth to a flock of xenomorphs, they drops them
on an engineer planet and causes everyone of them to die.
Then they get hold of the blue elixir that gives
prolongued life. But several ships with engineers that where away from their planet when Weyland-Yutani wiped the
population out, pursue them and manages to get the elixir back, but gets trapped on the planet where both parties
crash. Then a battle takes place and the crew from Weyland-Yutani gets the elixir that gives them prolongued life
for thousands of years, but they are now trapped on the planet, with no means to get anywhere. But then
they see a light aproaching, but is the spaceship friends or foes ?
It turns out it is the engineers and after a battle they gets hold off the blue elixir once again, and that
gives the cliffhanger for a second season that we must wait several years to see???
Very good movie scenes Alien 3.Fan.
This is the only version I ever saw in UK theatres. I'd love to see the original US opening scenes.
They had to kill Newt due to the fact this movie was made 6-7 years after Aliens. The actress would of been too old to play her
Terrible that they killed off hicks and newt.
Not at all. It was the best move; or you would’ve had a somewhat predictable story.
@@amancalledkev every alien film since aliens is predictable.
You really think there’d be 3 survivors after the EEV crashed like that? Lol.
Plus the actress for Newt was probably in her late teens by this time, wouldn’t have made sense that Newt woke up as a teenager from hypersleep lol
I hate to break to you,but I don't think Hicks would've lived even if the crash didn't do the job,as much as I loved Hicks and Newt
Hicks was badly injured,I doubt he would've gotten the proper treatment for his injury,so he would've eventually succumbed to his wounds, and I highly doubt he would've been conscious long enough to be relevant in the film or to have any part in the film
As for Newt,a prison like that ain't no place for her,she either would've died by the Runner Xenomorph, the royal facehugger, the prisoners,or even if she lived either Ripley Would've decided to give Weyland the Xenomorph in exchange for a normal life (Ripley saw that she couldn't live a normal life anymore and decided to end the Alien queen) and with newt being around she would've given the Xenomorph to them so Newt could've had a normal life despite the fact Ripley wanted to end the Xenomorphs and she knows that realistically speaking a normal life is impossible, with Newt around she would've been blinded by her emotions and decide to give the Xenomorph baby to them,or she decides to give them the Xenomorph baby,it comes out of chest and kills her,Weyland takes the Xenomorph baby regardless, and Newt is left all alone and we don't know what they would've done to her in the aftermath
Or Ripley sees reality for what it is and decides to end her and the Xenomorph queens life, but either Newt also jumps in or Newt is left all alone
Not in the comics though
This is a very good edit to a movie that was the complete opposite in mood to its predecessor. As others have pointed out, the whole thing of an egg being left on board and not noticed is too ridiculous for me. But then again, the escape shuttle from the Nostromo not being discovered for 50 years is ridiculous too.
Perhaps just as _Apocalypse Now_ was "never get out of the boat", _Alien_ is "never go to cryosleep".
Thanks my man, i also did another edit of this (link in pinned comment) its a little better and with a few more bits.
Alien cube for me is a fucking masterpiece. I don't care what Fincher said about it I love it.
fincher should see this movie as an accomplishment in his carer cos he had no script ,story, time and very little money to work with and the studio breathing down his neck to.
@@torquetheprisoner I couldn't agreed more.
Now this intro made sense!
thank you
I love Alien 3. It’s my favourite of the series, and I hated it originally.
I LOVE ALIEN 3
Great introduction of alien 3 and Ellen Ripley get infected by xenomorph embryo inside of her chest
I still have AlieN 3 VCD & i have this openin in it.
🤣
@@CYMANITE y laugh ? Did i say somethin funny ?
Awesome work
Alien 3, a movie that disappointed everyone.
@Javo25 I don't just speak for myself. This was a mediocre movie, especially following up the excellent Aliens.
@@ViciousAlienKlown Alien3 was disappointing but Alien Resurrection was downright repulsive. Let’s not even speak of the AvP garbage.
@@AngusT.McCraken AvP was bad but not to be outdone...AvP 2 took a crap on that one and laughed.
" Everyone ", don't talk for others!!!!!. Your opinion doesn't include Everyone!!
@@Jase-j4n Actually what I said is accurate. Stay mad.
Nice work !
Why didnt the ship just eject RIbley pod as it was infected and not the others. Why not more synthetics personal on this large ship like Sulaco for maintenance.
It didnt eject them due to infection, it was fire. The reason for no synths was, it wasn't strictly a legal mission.
0:50-0:54 I wonder who played Hicks…
I got a free cd of the score when I worked radio.
Very nice, I wonder though, were there any further additions planned to be put into this? I'm just curious....
Yes, there will be another version of this, but theres problems with it and im working on my new Predator trailer atm, so in the future yes.

Great!
Killing newt and hicks was a total risk that didn’t pay off for most but for me it added to the movie and made it far far better. The music score was also the best of the series. Hands down the best of the franchise
@@johnmciver9478 the music was excellent I think Fincher and the team should be proud of this and I hope that as it ages and gets to its 40th anniversary etc and people go to watch it again they see it for what it really is
@@Generalkenobi325 fincher rarely takes about it but he did briefly take about the scene where the alien is face to face with ripley and that the studio didn’t want it but he put it in the movie and it’s an iconic shot now. The new alien film was also really good and it had slight music parts similar to alien 3 score
@@johnmciver9478 wow I never knew that, also that’s good to hear because I’m booked to see Romulus on Friday and I’ve been trying to avoid all the spoilers but I’ve heard it’s a great film and a very welcome addition to the Franchise

1. Alien
2. Aliens
3. Prometheus
4. Alien Covenant
5. Alien resurrection
6. Alien 3

I always remember a tag line from a review “ puts its foot’s wrong even at the opening credits “ Amazing score though - the quick cuts here really didn’t work
Dunno which one this is I’m guessing the prison planet one. Just the idea of an entire planet dedicated to keeping people imprisoned turns my stomach.
The latest movie 'Alien Romulus' defies this intro,
Face huggers sense temperature and noise.
Well, 2 things.
These face huggers aren't the same breed.
And the cryotube still has a warm body in them.
Why are there TWO facehuggers? One for Ripley and one for the dog/ox. And what's the point of an EEV if it just gets thrown into space/crashes!?
well, its only one facehugger, the Royal implants a drone and a queen as it has that ability, as for the EEV crash, as far as the ship is concerned it was on fire and could explode(because apparently future ships don't use sprinklers XD ) and was unaware of Fury 161 , it just thought it was space, so no danger of it falling into orbit of a nearby system planet.
Everybody hates this movie for extremely nitpicking reasons, mostly being because they killed Newt and Hicks and Bishop
While i do admit that this made me sad,i hate to break to you,but I don't think Hicks would've lived even if the crash didn't do the job,as much as I loved Hicks and Newt
Hicks was badly injured,I doubt he would've gotten the proper treatment for his injury,so he would've eventually succumbed to his wounds, and I highly doubt he would've been conscious long enough to be relevant in the film or to have any part in the film

Or Ripley sees reality for what it is and decides to end her and the Xenomorph queens life, but either Newt also jumps in or Newt is left all alone
Probably because it was a queen and takes longer, maybe.
@@CYMANITE Could be a good take but it was not explained. Maybe since Ridley was attacked in hypersleep it slowed down the metabolism of the creature.
Beatifull
And the big question is, where the fuck did those 2 eggs came from !? No the Queen didn't have em' with her, watch Alien 2 again. And no Bishop wouldn't be able to get those 2 eggs from the Alien Nest either.
Its a question I always ask to myself!
That's not quite how cryostasis works.
Let's put that to the test. You first...
@@HeadHunterSix okay maybe not. Please explain what it really is because I always figured it froze you and kept you alive but not conscious.
@@thearchane4885 If it "freezes" you and keeps you alive, then it doesn't kill you, right?
Think of it like hibernation - your body temperature is reduced and as a result, your heart rate, respiration and metabolic activities are slowed. But they don't reduce it to 32 degrees F or even close - that would cause crystallization of water molecules in your tissues and cells (such as your blood) and you couldn't fix that by simply "thawing" the passenger.
Look up therapeutic hypothermia and medically induced coma to get a sense of where we are in this field right now.
@@HeadHunterSix okay, but that does prove that the facehugger wouldn't see it as a alive host due to the reduced heart rate and breathing. It could've been triggered after they woke up, but that isn't the case in the movie.
4:25 An unrealistic landing, a piece of steel of such size and density would have gasped and raised a wave with the ground that it would not have seemed enough (apparently the tunnel gun system and bombing are banned in this universe)))))

Brilliant!
I’m actually glad that they didn’t go with this intro. It would’ve been devastating to hear Newt only to find out that she had drowned. I would rather prefer her to die that way than via a chestburster
😪
And she wasn't unconscious when she drowned like Dr Clements states.
