These tips honestly made the game even more fun. As heavy I hated shield since it was so passive, but it was “meta” now I see how much more useful the slam can be. As medium I was a terrible a healer, took me out the fight. Now with the turret I can play sneaky plays and be a one man army

I just got this game and using the shield has been pretty fun tbh. I did not know it was “meta”. I have gotten so many clutches by protecting my teammates with it while they steal
This is spot on. I would say I’m a pretty decent player, I often see my teammates running off and doing whatever. If there is a heavy or another good player with me I’ll support but if not I go solo

||Try Cloak, Mac, frag, pyro, glitch grenade build||Never stop running and jumping.. even in gun fights. open areas make sure to cloak then immediately uncloak once in cover. Always be aware of your surroundings. Cloak once you spot someone whose close enough, shoot long enough until they realize they’re being shot at , then immediately cloak, reposition quickly and repeat. If your being chased throw a pyro grenade behind you. Most of the time itll make them have to reposition and it gives you enough time to heal up and get back into the fight or gives you time to just start chucking grenades all over lol. Im getting so good with cloaking and repositioning that i take out squads running med/heavy builds.

This is honestly the best guide I've found. I just picked the game up, and none of my friends are trying it out yet. So as someone who's kinda forced to solo queue, this was a must. Happy to say the tips shown for Medium have helped a TON already, and im excited to try Heavy again with a new mindset.

Just did a game with my preferred medium build (which was only one nade different than what you run) and used these strats and we decimated. Team was kinda aloof at first but then got with the program once they saw we had a chance.

This is more or less how I usually try to play, so good to see my mind is in the right place, haha. My friends like to go for frags, so I tend to end up being the one setting traps and focusing more on stalling the other teams. This video gives me a clearer picture of how to go about that. @@THiiXY exactly, this is something I can relate with as while I appreciate the pro players gameplay, it is really hard to relate with their skill level as I am nowhere near it and don't intend to, just wish to have a good time but challenge myself to do better. I feel like the grappling hook with the invis grenade is such a great build. The grappling hook makes it incredibly easy for to run into fights, grab my teammate's statue and grapple out to revive. Then we can reengage with stealth grenade. The grappling hook also allows me to surprise people all the time by the angle I come in, with my shotgun, for example I reel myself often straight towards them and make it a quick execution with my shotgun

Sometimes you want to solo queue and avoid the hubris that comes with playing with friends. This lets me learn how to not only be a better player but how to be intentionally selfish for the betterment of the team

Appreciate the kind words thank you! Exactly this, too many people are focused on the armoury, sure it can help you getting kills but it’s the objective of the game to focus on, you can have fun and success playing whatever weapon you think is cool and that’s the point. We are so focused on KDA now and it’s like, but in THE FINALS, it doesn’t matter lol, we don’t need to stress about how “well” we play.

I've been playing the finals a lot lately and I don't have many friends to play with, so I have been thinking really hard and trying to figure out which class would be the best to solo ranked. This video really helped out a lot. THANK YOU! So much better than all those useless clickbait videos that explain nothing and just show gameplay. In your opinion, which class has the best potential to solo clutch consistently?

I think what you could try is using each class for 10 games each and think about if your strengths or weaknesses pair well with one class over the others, then hone in on that class and enjoy the process of having fun and learning it. I love how the lore of the game is its a simulation, like its literally just a video game. So any plot holes in the universe like "how does the dome know the difference between enemy bullets and yours" is solved with a simple "because its literally just a video game"

There’s a lot that needs balancing tbh but for now I’d be happy if they nerfed poison gas and added a text chat. Poison gas could do more damage over time due to exposure instead of instantly killing a light as soon as it goes off (1 second) not even kidding. They could have a tick over time for them. Just saying. Would make them less overpowered but people would still have to respect and try to counter the poison gas

As a Medium player, how do you deal with the verticality of buildings without a jump pad or zipline? Like, if I need to get up quick, I would have to find a premade zip or run up the stairs, especially if a teammate is down.
Good question!
The design of the maps allow you to do that without much struggle, of course there are elements like vertical ziplines, stairs etc as you mentioned, and to even strengthen your argument, modifers like "suspended structures" on Monaco can be even more of an issue.
Put the zipline/jumppad on your reserves as a medium, if you do get suspended structures. As for the verticality, there are methods of getting to the rooftop by "window climbing" (I can elaborate on that) or yes, taking longer to walk the stairs. It's just a small drawback to the overall advantage you get by running the kit I mentioned, taking a few extra seconds to climb vertical is a price I'll pay for the ability to control and entire site. Hope that makes sense and is a good breakdown, I can elaborate further if needed. Thanks for watching!!
I would like to add that when you are going up stairs instead of running up them like normally go to the center of the stairs climb up them turn 180° and climb again and just keep repeating the process. Its a quicker way to go up stairs and i often either catch up to alot of people running away from me like this or run away from people this way. Hope this helps 🙏

First time finding a normal guide and the l m h part is just so useful cuz i just didnt know how to play them as a solo. Im very thankful for you making this guide(the only problem i have now is to unlock the gadgets and weapons lol)

My friends brother was able to solo to gold so far on heavy and all he mostly does is put C4 on gas canisters wait until they are trying to steal and throw it at them and always gets a kill from it. He then waits behind a wall close to the point and after the gas clears they go for the steal again and he charges through the wall like the kool-aid man slams the guy stealing then drops dome but instead of playing in the bubble he puts his explosive mines inside the bubble while playing outside of it and starts going to town with the shotgun. Before he showed me his clips i told him he should consider running RPG to insta delete lights and to keep people off the cashout but after i saw his clips i realized the RPG would just hurt his strategy. I was extremely impressed to say the least.

When i changed from chasing down unnecessary kills for scoreboard numbers to hard focusing objectives. Ive been winning 70% of my matches when i sit down to play.
Ive been taking more pride in having an objective score of 5k with an average kda. Definitely feels better.
This guide did a really good job at explaining how to improve cash out defense. If the game's tutorial could explain it this well defense would have felt intuitive, and more people would abuse hulk smash lol. Well done, great video!

Cool video with multiple helpful tips and examples. Only note is during the medium portion, why not recommend the healing beam or the defibrillator? Both are exclusive for medium and especially effective for supporting and maintaining health. Loved the note on charge and slam for stopping cash outs. Been slamming from above recently, it’s super effective!
probably just bc it’s a solo guide so you can’t be that reliant on teammates, but with friends those are great
Yeah exactly as Joey said here, sacraficing yourself with a defib is really not that great (you need to leave your position and commit to it) compared to following the idea's as mentioned. 100% with friends (and like my medium team guide suggests - check it out) defib and heals are fine.

I currently have a 1.8kd with over 1800 kills I'd say almost 30/40 percent of those are due to utilities.
I wish players knew just how important using mines and grenades are and NOT to waste them. Use them smart and use them often!

Dash is underrated af, in everygame i do im the first one to take the box and the first one to cashout, problem is that my team is slower then me and i have to wait for them, mobility is super good. You just take box toss it 30 meteres away then dash, slide jump jump repeat
Yeah for sure, I was really torn between the mobility with dash (cashouts faster) and the visibility with cloak but I think you're right at the end of the day it comes down to preference, gonna try out some more games with dash too, thanks!

I'm fairly confident that my braindead teamates watch my respawn timer and purposefully get themselves killed when I'm 2 seconds away from respawning. Annoying at 1st but infuriating when it happens every single game.

I try and not be terrible in ranks but it always feels different than reg quick cash. Always feel that I can’t get hit markers in rank. Don’t have the greatest aim I’m 44 but love the game and ure tips/strats.

I just needed a guide cause my friends want me to give pvp games one more try and wanted to play this one, this guide was a decent help for telling me how and what kind of playstyles to try
Hell yeah, I think PVP games are pretty fun especially if you're new to them, it will be a really hard learning process because people have been playing these games for a bit, but as long as you're having fun then that's what counts :)

I main a medium, and probably will continue to do so, as I love being the support, and I like the low risk / high reward playstyle - be smart, not greedy.
I have a question though, I hope you might be able to shed some light on. Everyone says the DeFib is a must for any medium support, and I have it, and I use it as often as I can. But I can't help but think it's a gadget slot wasted, as I usually only need it in situations, where I'm getting shot at and need my teammate up quick, which are situations I shouldn't find myself in, in the first place. I'd rather pick them up and make for a quick escape, ress them, then rejoin the fight. What are your thoughts on that? Am I missing something crucial?
I played alot in all betas but havent had enough time to play releas much.
For me defib is more like a flex slot with zip and sonar that i would swap out depending on team and map.
As a exampel when i get 2 heavys as mates i would consider swaping to zip so they have a better time getting around.
The defib is in my opinion not rly a must have and more like a nice to have that sometimes doesnt rly bring much value.
I also think its better in later rounds when ur team doesnt have many coins left and a qick ress is better caus u have to ress them when they dont have coins.

In 24:51 when you’re explaining about heavy, you said hold tab? What does that do? Sorry I’m on ps5. Great video by the way!!
Thanks TH, I was holding “tab” to view the scoreboard, and during that view, you can see what players are currently alive or out (skull icon) so you’ll be able to initiate a fight when there is one or two players left on a team for example :)
Personally solo, and not solo I think medium is the best class over wall. Not to tanky but can dish out damage and hold objectives well.

This is an awesome guide, but I wonder what strats would be good for soloing trying to steal another team’s cash out, since this guide mainly seems for defending one.
But this guide made medium more interesting to me, since I have almost only been playing bank it since that is more solo friendly and I feel medium is pretty boring for that mode. Light honestly might be best for Bank It since you can hit and run and bring money to the deposit station quickly, and I do the best as light there

I've found the charge and slam to be way too inconsistent for me, I'm certain that I'm just bad with it, but I also think it largely depends who you're fighting whether charging is a good call. The amount of heavy players I've killed with the heavy shotgun while they're charging at me. It makes you extremely vulnerable unless you're doing it in a chaotic environment
Yeah it's a good point, I mentioned using it as a "last ditch effort" but also not just for fights, but for actually stopping stealing as well.
Hot take, defibs arent that useful. Usually the only time you can revive is after a team wipe, people cover statues well in this, and the only real time you have time to revive anyone mid fight is if you weren't seen by the enemies that killed them which means you werent stacking and that's not good unless you're planning out pincer flanks.
Hi, medium main here. I play a very agro "angel with a shotgun" type build I guess you could say. Shotty, heal beam, defib, jump pad, gas mine (mostly personal preference). I find that although initially it seems like there's not a lot of times it seems useful but i promise you that as you play with it more and more you find better times to use it. Im fairly competent with my aim so i can usually clean up after my teammates if they go down. Using defiib into healbeam just after that can be super strong in countering any pushing third parties (which i experience a lot). This is even better if running another defib medium, you can pick up the other medium and they can insta-pickup the final teammate so no your whole squad is up before anyone else can push.
Me personally, unless I'm low and bring chased, I always enter through a window, second floor if possibly, it's always a good way to get the upper hand and i love the slam, i cam easily 2 shot another heavy with it, twice with the charge and once with the slam, it all does the same damage unless the slam is from hight, then it does more, ive cleaned so many fleeing players with it because of its speed boost and the slam aoe almost always lands if you jump before it ends.
Haha yeah the charge and slam is really fun, I think too many heavies using the mesh shield when it doesn’t really do much unless you have good comms with players that can shoot from it etc

Love the video very helpful and insightful. I was wondering if you could do a sought of follow up to it focusing more on retaking sites as much of what was talk about revolves around assuming you have control of sites in the first place.
Hey, sure if I have time I'll get onto it, but the general overall advice is to wait for it to be "contested" hold tab to see the enemy teams wiped, when it's about a 1v2 or 2v2 and you hear them fighting, try out going in at that point to clean up the extra damage. Everyone hates being third partied and that's why, because you clean up. Also you can try going with the damage of your team-mates if they are attacking too, and use them as a kind of "distraction" so you can fight when the attention isn't on you. Hopefully this helps.
Cloak is an interesting topic because the majority of people complaining about it aren't even facing good players. In my first 6 hours I never had an issue with enemy cloaked players. I could usually spot them reletively easily if not hear them. Then I played against someone who REALLY knew what they were doing. They would legitimately disappear in front of me. A good player knows how to control their movement speed to ensure they're more difficult to see. Bad cloak players think they can sprint around while completely invisible, when in reality at least on good visibility maps, they're really easy to track when they're sprinting.
Sure I understand and I actually agree with you for the perspective of cloaking, however, when they are distracted in third party fights, it's easy to punish them, but we can also agree that not every player is actively thinking about cloaks, maybe as the game is played more, but right now cloak and dash is my preference, with more focus on cloak, especially from longer ranges to close the angle or get up high to flank etc. There are still top tier players, playing cloak btw, because it just works well against the overall.

Step 1 : use your light teamate(s) as bait, cause they're gonna be trash 90% of the time and will quit if they die 3 times in a row without any kill.
ah you're the reason I have teammates too scared to fight another team off the cashout
Overall context is needed, would rather rotate to another vault early and have the game secured than fight a cashout with 10% left against three teams.
Ur really good thank for sharing ur knowledge with us ❤ just one thing : everyone is playing toxic mines on medium with turrets. How do you counter setups on the point ? Because poison deals a lot and you cant tank it to steal (unless ur heavy) and in terms of movement do you see any speed change when you slide while running ?
Glitch grenades are the only true counter to gadgets like mines and turrets. Keep in mind after they're glitched it's temporary and even when glitched if you shoot them they'll explode still. Best way to keep momentum is to just just every like second if you lose momentum when doing it slow it down a bit. It isn't like apex don't slide jump it's not any faster. There's some cool movement techs I've found and other shit I can't explain well or duplicate but as time goes on there be a bunch of videos to help with
There's not a lot you can do against toxic except wait it out. Fire counters gas, smoke counters fire. But if using a pyro-nade to burn off the gas...well there's still fire (which does less damage but still). If it's on an upper floor in a building, blow the cashout down a floor. If not, blow the gas and back off and wait. Or try to lure the defenders into the gas. A lot of em get kill-thirsty and don't pay attention
Ayyy thank you mysto! I don’t come across that a lot but a good counter is glitch grenade on light, for medium you could run goo grenade and throw goo on the turret, or grab a goo barrel. Heavy, you can charge and slam the cash out to another room or drop it to the floor below (and dome) but it’s hard and you’ll need team mates there to help follow up.
I don’t feel much movement changes, maybe something as light but I heard they are working to revert it back to open beta feel so we will see :)
