I just realized...she started as Rafiki when I was 4. I saw her when I was 8. I turned 26 last month.
Just had to let that sink in. What a feeling.
shes a living legend. Imagine being able to look at your grandkids and say "I played rafiki and I sang the intro and outro at every show" 😭
Thank you for sharing !!!
She’s been playing this role since 1999. She started as an understudy
@@ianhimmelstein5915 Yup, I was 4 haha still wild to think about
@@briannarenni I saw her in 2007 when I was 3
Everytime she starts singing the tears just flow!! OMG!
Me to
Same here !! OMG !
Me too! What is it!! Lol
Me too!
Same here. I can't stop playing the videos. It's so touching and emotional. Even the video when they first all got back together at the theater for rehearsal and she started singing.
Most intense goosebumps every time I hear that first note
One of the most beautiful and truthful songs EVER written. I can't help but cry everytime I hear it. Amazing. Could listen to this aaaalllllll day. Wow.
You can thank my Captain, My King, My hero, ELTON. :)
I bet that at the first note, the tears started falling in the theater.....at how we are slowly getting back at a normal life. ☺️
I'm crying seeing they're performing again 😥 I'm happy to all the cast 😊
A few years ago (very much pre-COVID), I saw the traveling cast in Arizona when they rolled
through town. Soon as she sang the first note, the whole audience ERUPTED and Practically leapt from their seats. It was like being at a football game. Instant one note standing ovation. I can’t even image how it was after the long break.
I was there. you are absolutely correct. throughout the show !
@@markgoodloe2722 😯.........I wasn't expecting that, but.....ok.😉
This reminds us of our childhood. The first time we saw The Lion King. But there is so much more to it. The beauty of Africa and its legacy. The tribes and their way of life. Thank you for this
Bawling from how moving and beautiful it is every time. So happy they are back
I am so happy Broadway is open again! It makes me musical heart so happy! I have been a fan of Disney since forever. I literally had tears streaming down my face while watching this!
I saw this Saturday 19th March 2022 and I will never, ever forget the experience. Myself, my mother and my sister all crying at the end of the opening number. This production is just absolutely stunning.
This feels like hope
Saw it ten years ago in NYC with my daughter. We saw again Thursday afternoon in North Carolina, taking her three year old daughter. She sat on my lap, laughed, clapped. She knew the names of the characters. It was emotional seeing it through her eyes. She loved it, hasn’t stopped talking about it. I cried at the end. It’s an amazing musical, a must see.
Gives you goosebumps every time.
I still don't know what they're chanting/singing in the Xhosa, Zulu and Swahili languages but I know if I got to witness this beautiful Musical number live I'd never want to leave
I must be the only person on the planet who's not seen The Lion King live, I didn't care much for the cartoons - But I'd give my left leg for the chance to see this

From the day we arrive on the planet
And, blinking, step into the sun
There's more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round
It's the circle of life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
'Til we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle
The circle of life

I love their work but I'm particularly attached to the 1998 version. All of them are wonderful but for nostalgia sake 98 my favorite
