I'm a descendant of enslaved Africans in Cuba and Puerto Rico. My grandmother practiced Santeria, a religion of African practices mixed with the Spanish Catholic religion that they were forced to partake in. When they were alone, they practiced their own beliefs (voodoo). It developed into Santeria over time. Im way off topic but seeing Africa in the way that it should be shown, the real beauty of the continent. It also reminds me of my childhood. Even then I was mesmerized by the beauty.

I was only 9 years old at the time Lion King came out. I'm 31 now and still the best movie. Every time The opening starts, my childhood comes back and I forget I'm 31.

I was only 3 years old when The Lion King came out I'm now 27 still the best movie ever. First movie my dad ever bought for us on LaserDisc because in our house at the time we hated VHS with a passion. Same feelings when that opening starts. I'm was watching the Lion King on Blu-Ray on Thanksgiving with my young cousins we actually watched The Lion King and the Lion King 2 and they loved it. I told them the Disney Renaissance Era was the best time of my life and still is.

This dude's voice/intro is a staple in so many people's childhoods nowadays. The second you hear it it unlocks something deep within you.

This "dude" is Lebohang Morake from South Africa. Known as Lebo M, he is a South African producer and composer, known for his songwriting and vocal work on the soundtracks to films such as The Lion King, The Power of One and Outbreak and numerous stage productions. He was recommended to Disney by Hans Zimmer, the composer of both adaptations of The Lion King, and formed and conducted the African choir that sang for the films.
He is a big name in the international music arenas, and I'm surprised so few know this.

If you are of a certain age - if you were a child when this masterpiece was unleashed to the world, this hits especially different.
