This is just another one of Elton's songs that rips your heart out. I'm so glad that I lived in the era that I was able to hear Elton's music. And, I was never aware of "The Way You Look Tonight" until recently. I don't know how I missed the one.

"Circle of Life", truly one of the most powerful and influential songs of all time; both in music and video entertainment industry as well. I'll never forget seeing "The Lion King" for the first time and hearing this. Great song.
There are many great songs that move me even to tears. But this song bows me to the ground. Some of his chord progressions are absolutely phenomenal. I'm a musician. I know a great chord progression. He does the same thing in the song he wrote called the one. He just knows that when one certain chord follows one certain other it has an impact and in this song the impact at least to me is overwhelming. He's a fucking genius.
I always wondered if I was the only one that saw the parallels in the chord structures between "Circle of Life" and "The One." Thanks for reinforcing my thoughts. Both songs are incredible!

My dad died in 1974 when I was a 18. Asked mom why that round wreath on his grave had a piece of missing. She said because he is gone the circle was broken. Everything I heard this song, it reminds me of that time.

What I really like about "Circle of Life" is that the version at the start of the movie is more energetic, and in a higher key, like life is beginning. With the lower pitch and slower tempo, this feels like reflecting on the life of a loved one after they've passed, coming full Circle.
