Your reviews are what this world needs right now. Short, to the point, have a neat structure, your voice is so soothing and simply a pleasure to listen to. Thanks a lot!
I want more games like Encased. Isometric turn-based RPGs with a post-apocalyptic setting are my favorite, especially if they have badass suits of power armor. Can I get some recommendations that are cheap or free?
I just stumbled onto your channel and boy, i like it a lot! Short but very informative, on point and a bit of humor. The chart system works very well for me. Well done!
I was going to comment on what a great job you did on the review and then I read the comments. I’ll be at the back of the queue of the people congratulating on a job well done and stating how amazing the breakdown of the graph, your analysis and your narating style is. *waves*
Thanks for the feedback! I completely agree, with regard to the voice. Would be curious to know if you think it sounds better in my most-recent review (Sheltered 2), in which I fiddled with the EQ and think it sounds crisper. I also just got a new mic to use for my next review.
@@MEGAthemicro Yes, your voice on the new review (sheltered) is a lot better. The EQ-fiddling definitely helped :D I didnt watch the whole thing but what i noticed right away was that the music might be a tad too loud so that it felt like it competed with your voice. I didnt notice that with this review (encased). But thats nitpicking anyway. Good job nonetheless 👍
@@pete5491 Awesome, that's great to know. Honestly, finding the right music volume is one of the hardest parts of each review lol-I'll play it back on one device and think it's fine, then another will sound like the apocalypse. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!
I definitely agree with all the comparisons to similar tv shows and games, but I’ll add it’s also pretty similar to SCP/Half Life’s Black Mesa. “Huge scientific facility filled with wacky gizmos and anomalies” is a fave trope of mine and that aspect definitely drew me in as well. Reminded me of the Cave Johnson sections of Portal 2.
Great review! Short and informative! Would you be open reviewing another crpg titled "ATOM RPG TRUDOGRAD"? Its like fallout but in soviet (from what i've been hearing) Im considering buying between encased or trudograd. Thanks
Thank you very much for watching! So, for now, I'm trying to (A) review games right when they come out, and (B) review as wide a range of genres as possible to see if my scoring system is missing anything. For what it's worth, I debated between reviewing Encased and Trudograd, as I was hungry for a new CRPG. In the end, I went with Encased because I was a little burnt out on Soviet settings post-Chernobylite review... which is funny, because Encased is actually a tribute to Roadside Picnic and has radiation everywhere lol. Sorry to not be of more help! From my research, it looks like Trudograd and Encased have comparable combat and levels of writing, so I think you should go with whatever environment most appeals to you.
You're welcome, and thanks for watching! I won't say there are no "bosses" (significant, computer-controlled enemies), per se, but they're so infrequent that they didn't make up a significant portion of my playthrough. Thus, I opted to leave this micrometric unscored.
Encased us literally the game based on Roadside Picnic, the novel and a turn based rpg game like Fallout, not a game that "randomly chose" those concepts.
Yes, the game was advertised, in part, as a tribute to Roadside Picnic and even has a location named after the novel. But mashing together too many done-to-death themes (radioactive isolation, factions, cosmic horror, etc.) can result in the overall product losing focus and feeling haphazard. Hence the South Park joke.
Story felt meh. And god, the text. I'd have read Roadside Picnic if I cared about text. Gameplay was pretty good. I played it as people recommended it in Disco Elysium discussions. It couldn't scratch that itch though.

@@MEGAthemicro Good voice, bad mic.
@@Sefert79 Thanks! This is an old review-I've since upgraded equipment. Newer reviews should sound much better :)
@@MEGAthemicro Good to know! I enjoyed this one.
this was a great review, I like the chart system you have. Keep up the good work!

Great and simple review that gives me all the info I need in a short amount of time. I appreciate your content. Keep up the great work!

Sure! If you want cheap/free, I'll throw out UnderRail and ATOM RPG as good options. If you don't mind spending more, Wasteland 2 and 3.
You're on the money with Atom RPG and UnderRail. I'll definitely keep an eye out for a sale.

Aw, thank you very much! I'm so happy to hear that folks are still finding this video and think it's helpful :)
Is there any death animation like dance on fire when killed by fire effect or convulsive when hit by bullets like old fallout games?
I can't speak to the game in its current state, having not played it in a good while, but I recall most of the death animations being pretty samey.
@@MEGAthemicro so it's trash then lmao. I shouldn't hope anything from larian trashs
Great review!
Thank you so much, Tereza! Glad people are still finding this review helpful months later :)
This was a cool review - I like your ways!

Keep creating, people will come for the quality
Thanks for the encouragement! I'll keep it up :)

One thing to note is that your voice sounds somewhat muffled, maybe its the microphone, idk.
Just a hint for future videos :)

working in construction 8-16, i could really use a chill game atm to relax

Nice vid! Subbed even though subs do nothing. Hopefully your reviews don't get lost in the recommends...

You do good reviews.i see the effort. Clocks and watch time! Let's go! 😂
Thank you, friend :) onward!
Any info if still coming to ps4?
Hoping the wait is bcz they are bettering it further.
Alas, no updates :/ I would expect sometime later this year.

Huge Shadowrun vibes-there are several settings in Encased that look like a copy/paste of Dragonfall.
