I find openings at work to talk about God. Everyone knows I'm a christian. When people ask why I am why I am I start talking about Jesus, when people ask about my I Am Second bracelet I start talking about Jesus, I hope people see Jesus through me at work as well. I won't stop talking about Jesus though....I do my job well but not afraid to talk about Jesus to people that want to know or I see an opening. Jobs come and go....God is everlasting. I will not be afraid to stand up for God.
Be careful about unsaved people that seem to show an interest in the gospel, then utterly refute and reject it. Satan frequently does this type of thing to discourage Christians. He makes the unsaved person seem approachable and interested in the gospel and then after you excitedly witness to them, he hardens their hearts. This is a lame attempt to discourage you. Don't let it stop you in the least. Know your enemy and his tactics. He wants you to stop witnessing altogether. Be prayerful when you witness, pray about everything! Don't assume anything! Let the Lord guide you in how much you should say and what you should say. Be totally dependent on the Lord always.
I have a boss like this and he left to go work at a different site. I told him that I dont mind making friends but I'm not old enough to start dating people. So I honestly think he just wanted to get into my pants thank God that didnt happen.
The EEOC begs to differ. Is your job and or wellbeing worth harassing someone? If someone tells you to leave them alone with your religion, you will obey or you will be looking for another job. Good luck learning life’s lessons!
Frequently God has you in a job where he wants you to witness to the unsaved or to encourage other believers in the faith. So don't assume you are there just to earn a paycheck and go home each day. If the Lord has you there, he probably has one of his people there. Maybe someone that needs to hear the gospel for the first time. One of his people that he intends to save. Make sure that you trade your employer your labor for the time you are there. Don't cut corners or be lazy, that hurts the gospel! If you want to witness and are very shy, be the hardest worker and the most dedicated employee. Be kind to your boss and those around you, do your job. Pray about everything and everyone. Be humble and know that the Lord has provided this job. The pay might not be good and the work hard, but the Lord has picked you for that place and time. You have a mission there. It isn't about you getting rich in the perfect job, it is about saving the Lost and giving glory to the Lord. God could easily make you wealthy or in the job of your dreams, but he frequently moves believers around to touch as many people as possible with the gospel. Stay in prayer and in the word. I go to my car to read the word and pray during my lunch time. It is quiet and I am alone with the Lord. It breaks up my day and I feel refreshed and blessed from it. I don't feel bad about running the car with the AC on either because of how blessed the time is for me with the Lord each day. I will gladly pay for the gas.
Wow this is awesome- I need to screenshot and reread. I definitely push to work hard, be humble and kind but I become to worldly at times. I never hang outside of work with others and walk away when the conversation seems to become too toxic and uncomfortable.
Wow. I just started a new job in a new city, and it's in a new field I've never worked in before (marketing). On my second day, I mentioned to my trainer that I was wary of entering the business of a psychic/tarot card reader. In my spirit, I knew that's not a place I belong, but I didn't want to be difficult, disrespectful, or negatively affect the sale... So I stood quietly and observed. I was also praying the entire time for the woman in general, that she would have an encounter with Christ, and that I would have wisdom to proceed in a God-honoring way. My trainer made the sale and definitely gloated a bit, but if I wasn't with her I wouldn't have entered that business. I dont think making money doing things I don't believe in is worthwhile.
Sometimes the Lord is testing you to see if you will be faithful to him in small things. Keep on keeping on! He is pleased when you stand up for him against evil.
I used to witness to clients and I didn't always get good results. I asked one man if he wanted to receive the Lord Jesus in his heart and follow after Him? We we're driving and he suddenly screamed , NOOO!!!" I took a deep breath, and said, " Okay, so that means you aren't ready. Maybe some other time. It's kind of a mine field at a secular job where you really have to be listening for the Spirit' s guidance at all times. This is a challenge topic because there are so many variables and many unique situations. I like the number 3.. actually DO your job. I am so guilty of just wanting to read the Bible and listen to sermons and sing worship songs. I apologise to every person I offended. One great thing about being known as a Christian is that people will hold you personally accountable and that will help you walk straight. I once said something I shouldn't have to a non Christian co -worker, who then open mouthed, said, "I can't believe YOU just said that! " It was awesome because it let me know that people were watching my behavior and hoding me to a higher standard. I had to apologise and ask God to clean up that area that was being a false witness. It helped my growth. Being open about your Faith, in Jesus is a protection FOR you.
Remember to be very careful about flirtation too. Sometimes people will flirt with you and you might take it as just something silly and not that harmful. The world doesn't see things the way you do as a Christian. Many of those flirting people have no inhibitions whatsoever. So you need to be extremely careful not to send the wrong signals or give them the wrong impressions. Satan will always be trying your defenses to look for a weak point. Don't be naive, we fight against a vicious enemy that wants to destroy you.
Great advice! It's so easy to try to get the attention and affirmation from men or women at work especially when things are stressful at home. Refusing to do this is important and purposely staying away from people we feel tempted by. That's not always easy to do because we may have to ask for a different location or transfer jobs.
Great video and applicable. At my job the ladies there make alot of sexual innuendos & jokes, inappropriate comments, go out for drinks, mock Christianity and use the Lords name in vain. They know I am a Christian & I often feel very uncomfortable & sad. I often go to the restroom and call out to Christ.
They don't know what they do... Shine bright the Lord's light. Do 'ot associate with them too much, influence them for good. Pray also for God to open doors for witnessing and how you can serve Him where He put you.
Laurie, I was in a situation like this and it's really tough. When people think women are naturally chaste and pure, I think they would be shocked that women can be the most dirty minded and course. I pray for you to be strong and for you to fulfill God's plan for your life. I pray for your protection. I also pray God sends you another Christian co worker to assist you.
I will tell anyone reading this. if you are a woman and you feel this person is someone you should date, please leave that workplace location where the other person is otherwise you may incur all kinds of drama. I know this isn't the case for everyone thats met someone at work, but dating the workplace while you work there is very very difficult. Its the reason I never did it. I actually don't make close friends with coworkers because of the activities they usually do, and I'm adventurous but not always in the ways they are. LOL. I'm not into smoking, or willing to be around certain environments where I will compromise my purity. It's lonely many times but I know at least I have integrity with not going back into sin or partying or any other immoral things God doesn't want these things to hinder my trajectory. God wants me and you all in Christ safe from harm. Amen!
Thank you for that!!! I went to a church where half the church was born into a Christian family, went to Christian school, worked at Christian jobs. I myself was raised in the world, met Jesus when I was 19 and was saved by His grace. In attending this church I always felt there was a sepaparation between those born on the church steps and those that lived in the world before they met Jesus. Don’t get me wrong I love them all dearly. Jesus gave us all a command to preach to all nations. The people born on the church steps weren’t even interested in going out sharing the gospel in the world. It really saddened my heart. Those born on the steps of the church could really help the newborn babes but the seemed so separated. I think Jesus has people born in the world and people born on the church steps make up a church. Gosh we could grow so much if we just could share knowledges. Thank you Jesus for everything
I struggle at work sometimes to uphold these values but I am trying! I'm good at having relationships with people and like to talk and joke around but sometimes it's hard and people say horrible sexually immoral stuff and I've been more intention as if recent to deflect and say, "I don't wanna hear that," but it's still hard. Nevertheless, not my will but God's will be done. I have to suck it up and face up to people who start speaking to me inappropriately. Gonna just have to be bold against it. Thanks for this reminder. Please pray for me. I feel like I've made a stain in my record by not already putting up these barriers 🙄😓
@@thm8623 I understand, brother. I think what I've learnt is that we must just work on ourselves to become more like our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and people will eventually see the change. What matters is that we are serving God with our whole heart and that He is glorified in our lives. We have to try our best to have a Godly manner and character. First and foremost, though, we must draw closer to God because, in doing so, we will naturally be more like Him.
I do have a question. When a group of coworkers are talking, sometimes the conversation gets explicit and inappropriate (for a Christian). My response is to leave the conversation quietly and go back to work. Am I doing this right?
Gage Smith I'm no expert Gage but I would probably do the same - it's an awkward balance isn't it on the one hand you don't want to cause offence, on the other hand you don't want to partake in what they're up to!😀
I believe my time at my work place is going to the end. I don't even know what to do where to go I don't belong to this world, I just want to preach Word Of God and God is using me and showing me. I don't belong at all to this world and I don't fit in here. I just want to be out of here as quick as possible. I want Jesus to come to take us. I can't look at people who does evil all the time to me.
It will be ok. Just trust God. I recently got fired because of a lie someone told my boss. And I think it was the same person I had witnessed to about the gospel. The world doesn't make sense sometimes. But I know God loves me and that's all that matters.
Well, this is so true and very helpful. Well, I will start my new job, soon and this is great advice for me. I was so naive and careless but that's why we learn our mistake and thank God a get a solution to my question. Well, thanks, brother! God bless you! Please pray for me! 🙂
This is brilliantly stated. Every Christian in a secular workplace should hear this! There is a fine line between being a witness at work and putting others on the defense because they feel preached to or judged. As an executive there are additional risks. Any communication perceived as unwelcome by others is even more significant if it is spoken by a manager, since the subordinate may feel obligated to agree, defer or comply with something that is against their own beliefs. Demonstrating respect and integrity in all actions and love of all people regardless of their beliefs, will cause others to be curious about who you are. They will seek your guidance when they are in need or in pain because you have consistently demonstrated love and kindness. When someone seeks your opinion they are likely to have a more receptive heart to hear your witness. Pushing your Christian agenda is not witnessing; being someone others want to emulate is an ideal start for witnessing. Witnessing must be balanced with discernment at all times. I’ve seen more overzealous Christians repel than attract people due to lack of discernment. Thank you for this practical advice.
Mark thank you so much, I have been in a really really secular place for about a year. And some days I get bombarded with anxiety because I feel guilty that my coworkers are all Christians already?! I know it’s a lot of pressure & I’m not God but I ask for prayer in this area, it’s so heavy on my heart. I tend to feel responsible for others salvation that I get worn out, overwhelmed and can’t take care of myself. Help!!! It’s an ongoing battle lately
@Maria Aceves I can relate. God reminded me that He has everything in his hand. The salvation of others is His responsibility not mine and not mine to be anxious about. I may be just one puzzle piece in someone’s journey to Christ, and it may not be at the point when they are making a decision for Christ. It’s important for me to be a light and not hide my faith-but it is their freewill to choose Jesus or not. The ones who are truly searching will naturally seek me out because they are aware of my faith and because God has impressed it on their hearts to come and talk to me.
I have learned to really just focus on my work. We are not God. I usually just watch and pray but I don't have to be on go all the time. A lot of people already know about Jesus but may not be as committed as you at the moment. I take my que from them not the other way around. It makes it much easier to just go to work and do a good job and leave the rest up to God. You may be only there to pray. When it's time to witness there will be a clear opportunity that does not violate workplace standards and not a forced opportunity. Wisdom is always key. If you feel heavy and overwhelmed it may be a false burden that you are really dealing with.
Being a Christian in the workplace is hard, I sometimes have coworkers who like to talk about the details of their s3x lives, or curse like sailors. But I also hate to be the guy who goes to HR about everything.
A practical video with three valid points, that is a wonderful reminder for the job. Work be something else sometimes yet it is like water on a ducks back, yet God is good and He knows the right way to do something when we ask Him. God bless !
What a gem of a vid, Mark! Excellent, practical points! We can practice our Christianity through our actions at work. Are we looking anything like our Lord Jesus at work? Do we behave like he would? Could someone pick us out as Christian amongst our co-workers & colleagues? My issue might be with trying harder (better) to steer different convos away from worldly, frivolous dross...which can lead to troublesome behaviour. Thx for this, my Bro! 👍🙏💖
So good Mark! I find so much wisdom and knowledge from each and everyone of your videos I’ve watched so far! This came at a very good time in my work life, God bless and please continue to make more videos about work life and being a Christian as well as all your other video topics! I also would love to see more videos on the topic of fear and anxiety and how God used others in the Bible to help them overcome that as well as how we can become fearless Christians in an anxiety-filled world!! 💕
Thank you for this Mark ..this came right on time ... I was really gavin g trouble at work associating with people in a secular environment..But thank God for this video..God bless
huge thanks, but this is a Huge thing, proper etiquette and social protocol is EVERYTHING. also I hate endorsements from both women and men....ugh like I'm Your actual Peer, stop saying yes sweety ,dear ,love, baby, uhhh. it's wrong , and no touching.....I went in my bosses office one day to only discover my male coworker was hiding behind the door and wanted to scare me or surprise me with a hug from behind...... BOI WHEN I TELL U I WENT OFF ON HIM, cursed him into next week, just let him HAVE it😆😆😆because I had no clue why he even felt that Comfortable at all I had never carried a full sentence thought out with the man,i had only been just barely cordial with the man...not to mention he was a really tall and big man so I felt extra violated by his height, it was too much I cussed so hard I had a headache and went home. it's harder being a female a secular jobs my opinion.
Amen to that. I have just watched this video on RUclips. In my opinion, there are some people who I used to work with and new people that I work with now. They really don't ask me about my beliefs, especially my religious beliefs, but if they do I would usually tell them that I am a Godly, religious person, but I'm not there to convert them, they need to convert themselves. I'm just there to work or do my job without any problems or concerns. Aside from that, no person of the opposite gender has ever flirted with me or even had any office romances or even slept or had any relations with me, in the past when I was still working in the mail room as a Mail Room Clerk or even now as a Loader, honestly :-).
I was in a situation recently having work done on my teeth, there was a nurse and another girl learning dental skills from the male dentist who was working on my teeth. I started talking to the nurse and quite soon she said "we are going out now to dress up in our uniforms te he he" ( meaning they were going to leave the room to put on covid protection clothing), but she said it in a double meaning kind of way. I didn't say anything and after that things felt a bit awkward, and because I didn't say much after that she kept asking me are you alright sir. I'm a single Christian man (I'm 58 now) but I must admit I'm not very good at working with non believers because of this kind of thing. Any helpful comments gratefully received, thanks in advance
To be honest I need to put my work first before witnessing. However people on my job ask me a million questions about Christianity everyday. It can be exhausting. I need to be honest and tell them I need to focus on my job first. As far as male female work relationship. I’m a sweet young woman and I’m thankful to God that men have never approached me inappropriately. But I have to be careful at all times with men and real and upfront about how I feel.
I personally don't think that it is wise to witness by your character in Christ without sharing the gospel. There are a lot of wonderful moral coworkers out there who will remain unbelievers because they are not aware of God's plan for the salvation of humanity through Jesus Christ. I worked with lovely, dedicated people for years and I was convinced that they were all Christians;unfortunately,it turn out they were all atheists. And I left my job without sharing the gospel much.I hope God has used the little witness I did there to turn their heart back to Him. Please don't just expect people to read Jesus through your character and your dedication at work;tell them about Jesus and His plan for salvation. Trust me,there are always occasions to share your faith at work no matter what. There will always be a very random person who will be there to promote the devil agenda (e.g perversion of sexuality and others) and this will give you an open door to advocate for faith in Jesus( with love and compassion always). Stay blessed
You can't share the gospel without words. By no other name will people be saved. But we also have to be wise in the workplace and not jam religion down people's throats. That's why I recommend building a relationship at work and sharing the gospel outside of the workplace where both parties have mutually agreed to talk about such things.
A believer will know another believer. The spirit of God is strong. It's surprising that you couldn't tell these people were non believers. Maybe you need to examine yourself?
Hello, I was wondering...if a Christian can work in the gay community. There's a costume/vintage shop I am interested in working...However, the rainbow flag is on the door. It makes me wonder if I/ Christians can work in this area of town.... And, in a way if it is spiritually safe.
Sorry brother we are living in the world where is different dispensation applying. Sale garments and buy sword. I'm under attack all the time because of people are jealous that I work harder than others, God blessing me then they come to me like hungry wolf's, trying to destroy me, steal, break and damage. They are even attacking phisically, is too much violence right now in the world, what was going on the streets now is going at work places, police is too lazy to do their job, they don't even know law to represent law, police is corrupted too, there is always some false witnesses who get involved when you are victim, police believe more to false witnesses than to the fact, evidences, phisical evidences. When you say true in this world you lose, they are twisting everything against you and on the end they said you are guilty. They tell you things which you never said or never did even when they have evidence and they know truth. People want to hear lies in those days and they love lies. I don't belong here, I'm not from this world. Enemy does whatever they like to destroy you, to stop you working, to stop and destroy your blessings. You can't even quit from job because you have other things which are holding you, you get phisically and mentally tired, you come home you don't have even time to think, You pray, open your Bible, study scriptures and is so late that you fall asleep, you awake so tired, all this job life here is worthless it's worth nothing, you came to this world without nothing and you leave without nothing. You are surrounded by demon posessed people. Fake Christians who sale each other, you check their fruits they don't even know true Blood Gospel. Christians who sale own brothers to their enemies just to get Ur blessings, we must guard our thoughts what we say, better to not to say and keep in secret because you can't trust anybody, demons listening everything to get information as much as they can so they can approach you to destroy you, we can't give any space and opportunities to devil. We are at the end and not many people will get saved now. Is too much electronics now that people are blinded because of that. We are at the last church standing Ladeoceia!!! Now unsaved people will use you instead of truly coming to Christ. They expectations are to take what they want from you instead what they really need ( Salvation , The Gospel , The Lord Jesus Christ) people looking at you like enemy at work place waiting for opportunity to destroy you because they hate you to heart beat!!! A lots of them are ready to kill you if they have opportunities. When you are on right spot, God blessed u, enemies are around u Like hungry wolf's who surrounding u, I can't breath in this world. We living in the time where people don't want to listen anymore. We have evil churches, God is already closing down many of them and soon all of us will be moved from churches to homes. Many true Bible KJV believers don't have churches. Many churches are deceived they have demon posessed pastors and womans preachers, accepting ecumenical movement, Catholicism. We are at the end. There was 7 good years and 7 years of famine. There is last 7 years before the 7 years tribulation. There is clear transition going on now end of church and restoring of Israel, Jerusalem is capital now which is fulfillment of Bible prophecy, they will rebuild temple soon, they did already sacrifictions on the builded altar. Even so come Lord Jesus.

I have a necklace that says YESHUA. People ask "What does that mean?" Then I share the gospel. They asked for it!
Beautiful idea
Do not as they do.
Speak not as they speak.

What matters is that we are serving God with our whole heart and that He is glorified in our lives. We have to try our best to have a Godly manner and character. First and foremost, though, we must draw closer to God because, in doing so, we will naturally be more like Him.
Legit perfect timing, thank you!
So glad it was timely :)
Girl right ! I just got hired today perfect timing lol
Congrats on your new job. I hope all goes great!
Number three is crucial... Thank you for such an encouraging and helpful video!
You are welcome!
🙄Thank God for instilling this message in you heart Mark.. Perfect timing! Great points to follow. Thank you!
I do have a question. When a group of coworkers are talking, sometimes the conversation gets explicit and inappropriate (for a Christian). My response is to leave the conversation quietly and go back to work. Am I doing this right?
That’s what I do
Gage Smith I'm no expert Gage but I would probably do the same - it's an awkward balance isn't it on the one hand you don't want to cause offence, on the other hand you don't want to partake in what they're up to!😀
I believe my time at my work place is going to the end.
Another good video Mark.... 👍👍💯💯🙌🙌 Praise the Lord...
I will pray for you. I can kind of relate.
I definitely understand! I feel I got to be a missionary and it’s exhausting! But surrender to God and let him guide you.
Awesome, I was just thinking about this an hour ago!
I need these kinds of videos. thank you.
Being a Christian in the workplace is hard, I sometimes have coworkers who like to talk about the details of their s3x lives, or curse like sailors. But I also hate to be the guy who goes to HR about everything.
Thanks, I needed this admonition!
Thank you so much for this video it helps alot for not only work but everyday life💓😊 Thank you n God bless😊
Thank you for this Mark ..this came right on time ... I was really gavin g trouble at work associating with people in a secular environment..But thank God for this video..God bless
I do struggle with on how to do this Jesus is helping me and i’am getting better each time on it
This channel is awesome.
huge thanks, but this is a Huge thing, proper etiquette and social protocol is EVERYTHING.
also I hate endorsements from both women and men....ugh like I'm Your actual Peer, stop saying yes sweety ,dear ,love, baby, uhhh.
it's wrong , and no touching.....I went in my bosses office one day to only discover my male coworker was hiding behind the door and wanted to scare me or surprise me with a hug from behind......
This is great advice 👍🏻 thank you
Well said. Thank you
Amen to that. Aside from that, no person of the opposite gender has ever flirted with me or even had any office romances or even slept or had any relations with me, in the past when I was still working in the mail room as a Mail Room Clerk or even now as a Loader, honestly :-).
great practical advice. thank you.
thank you for this message☺️
This was helpful!!
Thanks for the advice. It was excellent and needed 😊
Great video. Great advice!
Thank you Mark. Very Helpful.
Thank u for this!!!
Thats good stuff brother!
Very sound ty
So true sometimes males can use your sharing of your faith as an opening for their own agenda.
Thank you
What if they don’t see your value & everything is one sided :/
Do you work a regular day job (like a 9 to 5 at a company you don't own)?
Ps when you said to be baptized in the name of the father, son Holy sprite it actually means in the name of Christ not titles acts 2:38
Lost me at the gender one
My boss is a modern day slave owner
This guy looks like he enjoys soy based drinks.
But it's a free country and there is nothing in the Law or the Bible that says we have to work with other Christians
Thank you for the wisdom you've shared❤
Thank you! I really needed to hear this.
