Sako and Tikka’s are IMO the best out of the box bolt guns you can buy. When a gun will shoot multiple factory ammo this well it’s a testament to its quality. I’m about to get the S20 in 300 WM for my elk hunt this year. I’d like to get the .308 also by next year for black tails. Great shooting on your part!
@@ReviewThisThing What cartridge is your Tikka? I've got quite a few in a variety of cartridges. Curiously and collectively, the 6.5CMs and the 7RemMags are just unreal accurate with just about anything you feed them. The 270s are in 3rd place and also very impressive
All I can say is your one heck of a shoot....well that Sako may help a little bit. Impressed by the different brands it shoots well, thats a huge ➕ . I don't know about testing hunting bullets vs match or target bullets but Sako did well.
I have been incredibly impressed. Now, I will tell you there's another group of 5 we filmed that did not do well - they were the cheaper hunting ammo. I'd stick to ones we've shot :D
New Sako S20 in 308, on the second pack of Gamehead Sako ammo I got roughly a 0.5moa group on 3 shots (100m). Also did roughly a 0.5 moa on 200m indoor with 4 shots on the first 20 rounds. Next mission get some eld-x ammo. My Sako 85 Carbonlight Creedmoor just loves Hornady's eld-x.
When you get your Tikka 308 do you already have ammo selected to test? I've got a few 308s, 3 are Tikkas. I'm testing Norma Oryx, Norma Bondstrike, Norma Tipstrike, Norma Whitetail, Norma Eco and Evostrike. Can't recall anytime a Tikka didn't like Norma ammo
I have used the Hornady Precision Hunter in my Savage MSR-10 18", smashing sub-MOA groups at the range with ease, as well as downing Kudu, zebra and monkies in South Africa. Once dialed in there were no slip-ups, rounds going where intended. Sadly I can't use the Hornady Precision Hunter for hunting in Denmark, as hunting ammo is exclusively non-lead now.
@@ReviewThisThing This is a link for a pre-Africa range trip shooting the Hornady Precision Hunter at a target 600m away. 3x center of target - ruclips.net/video/Eba040UxA2c/видео.html
No. Not on this one. We got it all set up when we did the scope test ruclips.net/video/BI7gPhMx-Tc/видео.htmlsi=ithIh1LopP7iFbTF but with this video we were just checking out groups.
In all the rifles I've seen where a copper bullet is shot after lead bullets, the copper is not accurate, unless the barrel is thoroughly cleaned before shooting the copper. Once the barrel is cleaned, then you are able to shoot all the copper bullets that you want accurately.
Great question. Overall, probably the Cascade - BECAUSE I don't love the thumbhole on the Sako, and it's just so long. I would love to switch out and try the 20" barrel on the Sako and see what I think about it then. I DO wish the Cascade had an adjustable cheek piece, but they have the LRH now that has that. I haven't shot one of those yet, though, so I can't tell you what I think about it. I have a feeling I'd love it 😆
@@ReviewThisThing I have tikka in 270 win shoots almost everything well. Most factory ammo around moa. Handloads 1/4to3/4moa. I think it's the least finicky ammo rifles I have

Remington corelokt tipped usually does pretty good for me

@derekmcmurry it will be a 308. We’ll see!
Love me a good sako
I know that’s right!
Nice shooting! My Sako S20 Hunter loves the 165 grain Federal Premium Trophy Bonded Tip.
We didn’t try any of those. Maybe we should! Thanks so much!
I been using the Remington Core Lokt really like them, like your channel love your accent love to hear you talk subbed the channel take care👍👍
Thanks so much!!! I appreciate it!
That sako will shoot.
That’s a fact!
Super nice groups, especially out of the heavy pilled loads.
Agreed!!!
Nice rifle. Always enjoy your videos.
Thank you so much for watching!
Dam, you are a great shot!!!!!
You're very kind. Thank you for watching!
Sako's for ringing long range steel... Core Lokts for hunting. Sweet video.
Thanks!!!
I've shot corlock tipped since they were introduced good accuracy for hunting but minute of deer is all you need...love the channel

I'm curious how that rifle would do with factory 180 Norma Bondstrike. I'm buying that stuff for about $23/box
Hmmm…good question. It LOVED the Evostrike. ruclips.net/video/tPt2H09g9eU/видео.htmlsi=HgGtd6E5T-gqQjeW
Please try Hornaday Blacks 168gr out of that thing. Please!
Hmmm…I’ll see if I can find some.
Just wondering if yours shoot the heavier Hornadys well? Tried a box of 178 grain eldx from factory and oh boy does the gun not like it😢
The 178 grain were the only ones we tried in it.
