- A woman proposing to her boyfriend is not something you see every day but it has become more common. Audrey has been with her boyfriend David for 3 years and decides to take matters into her own hands when she asks him to marry her on live television. She is equipped with an amazing men's engagement ring from Robbins Brothers.
Audrey knows what she wants. Her marriage proposal to David is a risk, but it's a risk she is willing to take. She wants to be engaged and marry him. She has felt like it's been long enough and for her, getting married is what she wants out of the relationship.

He may very well have wanted to marry her. What he most likely don't want is being ambushed like that on national TV. My guess is he already had the ring on order and was planning to propose to her but she steals his thunder in this very humiliating way and now he is rethinking and will probably cancel the ring purchase and break up with her. Of course if it was me I would never have agreed to go on the show in the first place. No good can come of a man agreeing to appear on a TV show that has a team of female hosts engaged in creative male bashing.

You are reading it differently than I am. First of all, 3 years is not an extraordinarily long time to date someone before they propose. Secondly, he may very well be saving up for a ring, may have one already ordered and this woman steals his thunder. This is pretty much the way most men would react if a woman proposed to them, especially if they are old fashioned and wanted to be the one to do the proposing and especially if they put the man on the spot on national TV. In fact most men would consider it rather humiliating to have their girlfriend do this. I would feel that way. But not from the proposal. I would feel very uncomfortable being on TV in the first place so I would never have agreed to go on a show, especially one where it's all women and their primary agenda is creative male bashing.

Women are the ones who buy the whole idea of marriage so easily. 90 percent of the time, the guy will simply propose because he knows she'll leave him eventually if he doesn't propose. Then sometimes you have these situations where the woman doesn't wait around. All a wedding is, is putting on a big expensive show for family and friends so they won't look down on you and your S/O for living together in sin without a ring. Most men understand this, not too many women do.

I'm 58 years old. Since I was 22 I've proposed to 7 different women. The first time I saved up for six months working overtime and two jobs to buy the ring. She put the ring on her finger, said "thanks for the ring." and flatly said no and then broke up with me. The most recent occasion was about 5 1/2 years ago. I'd worked for a major jeweler for ten years making engagement rings for a living so naturally I made the ring. I bought a brilliant cut VVS1 1.1 carrot diamond. I bought two heart cut 1/2 carrot rubies to flank it since her birthday is in July. I hand engraved the inscription. I planned the proposal for Valentine's Day. I started out the day presenting her with Two dozen long stemmed red roses, two dozen white carnations that I arranged in an antique Victorian vase that I bought for the occasion. I learned flower arranging the summer between my sophomore and Junior year in high school working for my mother's friend who was a florist. I made a Sailor's Valentine out of sea shells I collected on the beach and inside was the poem I composed. I learned how to make chocolate truffles and made a dozen of her favorites. I took her to her favorite 4 star restaurant and bought her favorite champagne and dish, baked stuffed lobster. I took her to the Broadway show she wanted badly to see. Then on the way home the Aurora Borealis appeared all over the sky so I pulled over and we got out. It was not possible to achieve a more romantic Valentine's Day and perfect setting to propose. So I got down on one knee and took out the ring from the box I made and I proposed.
She laughed at me and then called her "real boyfriend" to come pick her up. But not until she too put on the ring and told me how nice it was.
I will never propose to another women. 7 times humiliated is 7 times too many. It seems I have the word "SUCKER!" tattooed in invisible ink on my forehead. The next one will have to propose to me.

I saved and saved for my engagement ring for my ex-wife (she cheated on me while we were married). She pawned it before our divorce and spent the money on another guy. Fuck engagement rings. IF I ever remarry, it will be an inexpensive ring that I like. If she isn't down with that, I have no interest in her. Women feel obligated to get an expensive ring to impress other people. It has no bearing on how much the guy loves you. Now on out 10 year anniversary yea, I might buy a big diamond for her for putting up with me all those years. Wont get her a big one before she proves to me she is faithful.
Also, in this new time we are in; women say they want a modern relationship but want all the perks of a traditional one. I think for all the equality most women say they are fighting for, women should do the proposing. They can buy me something expensive to prove their love and dedication to me.
