Nooooooo! I just searched this commercial out of sheer coincidence. Then I see a 9 hour old post saying Anthony died. I grew up in Boston and I was raised eating Prince so Anthony has been etched in my memory since childhood. Most importantly, rest in peace, my dude. You've immortalized yourself and thank you for the smiles.
My father worked for the Prince Spaghetti company during that era. This commercial always had a special place in my heart. RIP Anthony and healing prayers for your family.
As a kid growing up in Westchester County New York in the 1970's that Prince Spaghetti commercial with Anthony was one of my favorites. I identified with him as was never late for Prince Spaghetti Day. And I sometimes ran home too after playing on the block with the other kids. But in our home, it was Sunday not Wednesday. RIP Anthony!!
I loved this commercial. Today I have a cat named Anthony, and every time I have to call him for din din I call like this mother did and he comes running, and my mind goes back to this beautiful family.
I grew up 1:36 that commercial. I still often reference Wednesday as "Prince Spaghetti Day"! This generation of people have no idea about traditions like that. I'm so sorry to hear about his untimely passing. RIP Anthony!
Same here, and I just used it today when my youngest son who, being out of school for summer and losing track of the days, asked me what day it was...so I told him. Of course he gives me a "WTF you talking about dad?" look, so I showed him the old commercial. We live in STL where it's now made, but we can't get it in any stores here. So my son says "Dad - we gotta pick some up when we go back to Boston to visit your family!!" And we will.
Now that I saw the commercial, I remember that the ‘Prince Spaghetti’ ad with the beaming little boy in the striped T-shirt briefly appeared in Greek magazines in the early 1970’s. Requiescat In Pace - Heartfelt condolences to Anthony’s Family.
To the family we grew up in the other Prince Spaghetti neighborhood. Down the road was the giant plant on Groesbeck near Hayes on the border of Warren, Roseville and East Detroit. Roseville is very Italian. Everyone made Wednesday Prince Spaghetti, especially during the late 70s early eighties when our community and automotive companies were hurting, Anthony showed us we can all be normal and poor together and have a comfort meal. We love what you done for us and Thank You... Wednesday will always be Prince Spaghetti Day.
Rest in peace, Anthony. I grew up in the Boston area in the early 70s and this commercial is forever etched in my mind. Makes me happy to know he was a good man. Let’s all go do something nice on behalf of Anthony ❤️🪬
This commercial ran for years. I was born in 1970 and I remember watching it on television as a little boy. And it was great growing up with an Italian Mother and Grandmother. I know why Anthony ran home for dinner!! R.I.P. Anthony!🕊

I’m originally from the Chicago area, and remember those Prince spaghetti commercials well, as they used to run in Chicago. Rest In Peace, Anthony. 🙏

Aww.. just saw the commercial for the first time. It was so sweet. Too bad his brother's speech had to be "politically correct" to get on the air...
