I was debating if I should get the 1st gen TT for a first car because they're so cheap.... The looks alone changed my mind.... It looks like a sporty vw beetle in my opinion
Hi, I had the Mk1 TT, came with 6 speed gearbox and Quattro as standard, traded that in for a Mk2 TTS convertible, Again Quattro as standard. Loved both and gave the tts a stage one remap to get it 310bhp. Would love a Mk3 just to say I’ve had all three gens. 😎👍🏻
I was in NYC one summer in my 335i and got gapped by a gen1 TT on the grand central parkway. About a year and a half later I actually met the owner of that car at a meet and come to find out, the thing had 390whp and a big ass turbo in it.
as a 17 year old who is GOING to buy a tt i will not only disregard what you said at the end but gaslight myself into thinking the opposite. (please i need this car)
I was thinking of getting the tt MK2, I just like how it looks I'm not rlly interested in speed or power. I was also thinking of an bmw series 1 coupe or the "m1". What do u guys think?
I highly suggest you talk to someone who knows that car or worked/works on Audi /vw they are complicated cars but fun to work on and know your limits (don't learn the hard way)
I have a 1 st gen TT awd 225 ( they have made some fwd). I am very happy about it. For about only 500 dollars you can have a stage 1 remapp and gain 40 bhp. They extremely reliable if well looked After. Some have eletronic issues but mine has none with 170 000 kms. For the Price you pay for that car on m'y country it is difficult to get as good performance wise. And personnaly thé look is Amazing .
My Audi tt is a great daily drive with no engine problems I accelerate from 1st to 3rd without 2nd. It keeps the revs and petrol drain low. It’s economical on a motorway with cruise control. Little to no problems
Love the review lot of good information. 2018 TTrs owner here with 100,000km it’s daily driven and the engine is redlined daily. It’s uses/leaks 1/4 litres of engine oil between service(every 7 to 8000km) all other fluids changed as recommended. The 5 cylinder engine is known to be a strange/reliable engine. Most of these 5 cylinder engine that get blown up ECM’s have been tuned and safe guards removed. Planning on keeping my TT all be well, 😊so I’ll update you in a couple of years.
I own a mk2 TTS, and when he said "for when you're listening to yung gravy down the highway" i was taken back. The first 3 songs in my driving playlist are yung gravy
I've never owned a car with 4 doors only 3 door coupes/hatches. FC RX7, VW Mk.6 Golf R and a 2011 Audi TTRS. i don't buy cars to carry people or anything larger than normal shopping. I do need to get around to selling the R. bit iffy about selling my 7 though.
I’d like to see The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly about a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & now 4th gen Mazda3 everything online talking about Mazda3 are the Speed3 not the non-speed versions!! I own a I-Touring Sedan witch mines a 2011 with the 2.0 non-skyactive motor. Be a good day if you decided to do a video on this platform
Mark its drakeo it’s really weird cus I literally was just thinking on getting this as a first car I can build to be my dream car srry I’ve not been on my main been going threw a lot of things hopefully will be back in a week
the TTs dont have the all time quattro system like the A6-7-8, it has a haldex 4x4 system that gives power to the rear wheels only if it feels like the car needs it, its primarily front wheel drive
@@CaramelColored Potentially, but a bit tricky as quatro is just the name audy uses as a synonym for awd in their cars and has actually at least two (possibly three) different AWD systems using the same name that have little in common.
@@CaramelColored All A4 are not the same either. The "real" permanent torsen quatro is used only on higher sportier trims and on some diesels (not sure if on a4, certainly on bigger among a6 diesels). It was universal in earlier generation, but most trims now get the "ultra" which is also a part-time fwd-biased system.
The first gen TT's aren't fantastic to drive to be honest. The VR6 is also insanely hard to work with on these because its squashed in. The TT8J is by far the better one if you're looking for a TTS/Base Model, avoid the TDI as it defeats the point of buying a sports coupe. The EA113 BWA was the engine that came in the TT (at least for Europe) and is absolutely bomb proof, they just burn oil, quite alot of oil, around 1L/1000KM even......
Acura tl, 4th generation, you know the one with the all wheel drive model. i think its a super underated car and there price is pretty low for what it is. luxury interior, quick, awd, kinda ugle but whatever, like idk why no one ever talks about these.
alot of stuff you talk about is not very helpful since you dont tell what gen its about. the mk3 tt and tts share the same 2.0 engine which can be found in like 12 other cars and other manafactured cars ( volkswagen, seat, skoda, cupra etc )
The 2nd gen base model engines are also not that great either. The 1.8 and 2.0 petrol engines tends to burn a lot of oil after like 60 000 miles. There are some "minor" fixes for it, but the problem only can be fully fixed when you replace the pistons and the piston rings... That's the main reason I haven't bought a TT and still looking for a 4 seater coupe car.. Oh and they are FWD cars, so they are better for daily driving.
not all of them were AQD, you could get a first or 2nd gen one in FWD. Also the awd system they did have was a haldex system not quattro for at least the first gen..... was excited for you to do tt's but very dissapointed you dont know your info :{
No…..wrong. Not all TT are AWD or Quattro. Some are just FWD. and even Quattro is fwd biased but kicks in the rear when front slips. It’s still very much FWD.
rather vague with your ''info''. Basically generalizations; no actual experience with these cars. This dudes says ''not good engines'' for the MK1's. WHAT??? are you insane???the 1.8 is one of the BEST engines out there. And yes, I'm an ACTUAL TT owner: 2001 TT 225hp AMU engine.

You can’t research Audi for 20 minutes and make a video you have no roots in, this couldn’t be more wrong😂 VAG products have been nothing but reliable to me for 30 years. No it’s not a boy racer car to hoon in. It takes a certain person to own one yes and this is clear in any VAG video.

Just saw a clean ass TT today lol sounded hella good black on black
Nowadays it’s sick asf in gray or black and not a convertible
