Sigma 50mm F1.2 | Just ANOTHER 50mm Lens or somthing Special? [Review]
What are your thoughts on this 50mm lens? 🤔
What’s the chances you’d make a video comparing this (or any other 50mm 1.2) to the Mitakon 65mm 1.4 on GFX? I own the Mitakon and I love it, but I’ve always been curious how similar a 50mm 1.2 looks on full frame.
The F1.4 is a much better compromise. That bulk and weight really is off putting.
It’s fantastic, and I use it with an adaptor on my Nikon Z9 andZ8 cameras. The price is very good compared to Z system and is equally as good….. TonyH
Stopped DOWN to 1.2?? You mean open UP to 1.2. (Picky, picky.) What does HLA motor mean? What advantage? Cheers!
I'd take the Samyang 50mm F1.4 & £449 right now
It's on my Sony A7iv and will never get of.
Such a good combo! Have you used to glue to stick it on? XD
Im still undecided between sigma f 1.4 vs 1.2. not sure if the .2 different is worth it
i startet last week because of ur vids... got a a6400... and a 50mm/f.1.8 from sony .. think thats a nice start .. now i dont know what lens i should get next .. thougt of the tamron 17-70 as allrounder... but there are sooo many options .. send help pls^^ so sorry about my english not a native .. greetings from austria
if you've got the budget, the sigma 28-55 and 10-28 are an absolute boss, and a great way to cover all those standard focal lengths from FF equiv 15-70mm
I can recommend having maybe a marco or a varibale zoom from tamron/sigma.
But you should consider what photography is to ur likes.
I personally love portraits and car photography
@@texowaste @elwick_photo got the 18-50mm 2.8 from sigma today and i´m very happy 👌
Being an APS-C shooter I am glad of the much cheaper prices for that format. The closest from Sigma has to be the middle of their holy trinity of primes for APS-C - the 35mm f1.4. I saw it on offer not too long ago for £299 - a steal and £800 less than your review lens. But then it is intended for full frame (although usable on APS-C giving a 75mm equivalent, not bad as a portrait lens. But then would I need the f1.2 in preference to the f1.4? Probably not. I don't have the APS-C prime either, and use the 18-50 f2.8. I don't do that much portrait work, but when I do it is possible to get some nice bokeh at the 50mm end. Not as much as a lens with lower than f2 obviously, but we always come back to how much you will need it. This is, for me, why you are one of the best gear reviewers on here - because you were honest in that you would probably not need this lens you reviewed. Yes, its a nice lens and would be nice to own, but have I been unable to get a shot because I lacked a prime of that kind with a wide aperture? And that's where my Sigma zoom has proven to be the best money I ever spent, as folks often think I have been using primes. Its that good. And the times I needed wider than f2.8? Has there even been one time...? If I was a wedding or portrait photographer I might think differently. But beach scenes and mountain scenes in the Philippines with some down town street photography? Nah - even an f4 would be good here.
Nah definitely cant be the nifty 50, its neither < £200, nor is it as plastic as barbie.
its a.... cant find a word for really good that ends in ifty....
Exceptional quality Fifty?
I was thinking to buy sony A7R2 ...
Is it worth in 2024
I don't shoot fast subjects
1.2 is epic, but I can’t see myself paying that much for a prime lens (my most expensive lens, a telephoto, is my sigma 70-200: $1,500). I would stick to a 1.4 or 1.8.
Go for Tamron 35-150 f2
Sigma 35mm art lens best
What do you think about a6600(I have Sony hx400v)
Some people just need more light for there work
this lens is nice, but can you make a video with sony a6000 and this 50mm f/1.2?
What is the point of that? This is a large full frame lens. Get a Sigma 56MM 1.4 or switch to Fuji and get the magnificent 56MM 1.2.
