    Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live a more sufficient lifestyle?
    You are probably familiar with the term sustainability, and while sustaining ourselves is a great goal, we want to move beyond that and create a system that regenerates; providing huge amounts of abundance for us and future generations.
    We are building a model that is the first here in Costa Rica and will consist of 5 turn key homesteads that together will create a Regenerative Neighborhood.

    Looks amazing, except that pool, I don't see anything beautiful about a pool when you live 15 minutes from the ocean. But I would definitely live there though and turn that pool into another fish pond.

      The pacific coast waters in Coast Rica can be quite cold and rough. I can see how a pool could be useful.

    At 0:56... San Isidro is the 13th largest city in Costa Rica.. simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_in_Costa_Rica

    • @brendonmckeon3219
      @brendonmckeon3219 7 лет назад +6

      Thanks for your comment. A couple thoughts on this....this wikipedia link is a bit deceiving. Most of the other bigger cities listed are very dense population cities with very obvious city limits, whereas San Isidro is very spread out. Those of us that live here consider San Isidro to be the smaller city center and the many spread out towns all around it. If you consider this, the population is well over 100,000. Also, is is said that San Isidro is the 2nd fastest growing city in Costa Rica. But again, thanks for pointing this out as I don't intend to spread false information. The great part is that San Isidro and surrounding region is by far my favorite city, with all the amenities you could ever need but still maintains a very intimate and friendly feel. Have you been to San Isidro el General? How did you like it. Thanks again for your comment.

    cutting down all the trees to put in some houses and calling it permaculture and regenerative doesn't seem right

    • @brendonmckeon3219
      @brendonmckeon3219 7 лет назад +2

      + David Larsen,
      If that is what we did I would totally agree with you, but that is not at all the case. This land was previous pasture/cattle land that had been abandoned. When we purchased it, the land was overgrown with shrubs and recovering from years of degradation by improper land management. We will now be planting the entire landscape with 1,000's of trees and plants and implementing positive land regeneration practices such as erosion control, native tree and plant systems, edible landscapes, pollinating flowering plants to attract beneficial insects, dense food forests, regeneration plants such as nitrogen fixers and dynamic accumulators, etc, etc. Of the 15 acres we purchased less than 1 acre will be covered in structures and the rest will be planted, providing beneficial habitat for both animals and humans. I believe what we are doing is in complete alignment with Permaculture (derived from "Permanent Agriculture") and regenerative practices. We strive to create environments that are models for a balance between human dwellings and mother earth. Unfortunately, there are many projects that call themselves "green" and are far from it. I assure you we are not one of those projects! Thank you for your concern and feel free to come visit someday, so you can see with your own eyes what a great model this is.
