I'm so glad there is a trailblazer like you who demo's new cosmetic and performance parts for the 6th gen and posts his experiences on youtube. It is invaluable what you are doing for the Camaro6 enthusiasts and I applaud you for your time and effort with purchasing, testing, filming and sharing your thoughts. Ignore the haters and naysayers and keep up the good work sledge. Well done!
For me it's a hobby. If people agree, disagree, or hate what I am doing that is their opinion. They are allowed to have it and express it... But it isn't going to stop me. ;)
+Lethalhammer What do you do for a living. That always interests me when people have nice cars. College Degrees? Job? I have a 2012 SS with a few bolt ons and it is taking so much restraint to not upgrade. The only thing I am telling my self to wait is 1LE. The 1LE is coming, just wait till then.
What's up brother...So the resonators after the first set of cats...are they considered the secondary cats?? I'm thinking about doing the secondary cat delete and I wanna have all my Info correct before I take it to my local muffler shop you know..
Lethalhammer I gotcha I would love to hear the sound of your car with these installed! Its a corvette engine with an almost straight through exhaust! What is there not to like? Keep the videos coming and like other comments on this video you deserve more views and subscribers but they will come sooner than later
what did you do to erase the codes of the check engine? I have used the spacers sparks to try to delete the check engine light coming on it worked for at least 40 miles but then they came back on can you give me some ideas on what and how i can fix this issue ??? thanks!!!
I put a borla exhaust with the cat deletes & 3 codes popped up it was 2 for emission & 1 for the fuel pump would that mean it needs to be tuned? Part #60606
Good luck, if you’re in the US, the EPA’s long since banned catless and “offroad” exhaust/emissions-related automotive parts. They started cracking down like in the past half decade or so…. I think around 2018-2019, when the scare for emissions and swapping back to factory exhaust and whatnot in some strict emission US states happened, that’s when the EPA really started putting down the hammer… All handheld tuners have also been updated/revised to not allow for tampering of emissions and/or emissions-related software. There is specific racing only hardware and software you can seek, but you will be paying lots of good money, as well as constantly renewing “certifications” and such, annually..
+batbat1156 They are cool and can be used to gain power. Overall most high flow cats are legal in states that have not accepted California emission standards.
Backpressure improving engine performance is a MYTH... Smaller pipes have more velocity and in effect more scavenging, which is why some will say backpressure improves HP... It doesn't, having free flowing exhaust will always out perform having overly restrictive exhaust. Deleting a cat will have little gain IF your exhaust system was built adequately to remove the engine exhaust, if you need more exhaust flow increase diameter of your exhaust system including Catalytic converters. STOP SPREADING MYTHS.
Not worth it at all. Drive your car to the track and enjoy a few runs and drive it home. No need to waste time under your car exchanging pipes just as a hobby racer.

I would heat coat them either with the wrap or ceramic heat paint so you get more flow out if them
did they trigger a cel when you installed them or did you have them tuned out
Thx to your site man I found the pipes your the extreme on Camaros keep up the great work I look at your site everyday
+David Gaynor Thanks for the support David
Hello friend, I consult you I want to get those two resonators, do you have any idea if the check light comes on once I take them out ???
how do you have your cats with longtubes?
These test pipes replace the primary cats. Only the secondary cats remain. With long tubes, cats are temoved
@@Lethalgarage okay thanks and do check engine stay on?
@@ss6thgen336 they can

Lethal does CA Performance have any videos of the cat deletes on the stock npp exhaust?
+Gunnar Coffman not sure tbh
What's up brother...So the resonators after the first set of cats...are they considered the secondary cats?? I'm thinking about doing the secondary cat delete and I wanna have all my Info correct before I take it to my local muffler shop you know..
+tevintrichey they are cats not resonators.
+Lethalhammer okay in the video you said the two resonators follow the cats.
+tevintrichey Yeah I corrected myself later and in the comments below
+Lethalhammer right on..preciate it brother. Car looks and sounds great.
Is CA Performance still in business? I’ve been unable to contact them. Do you still have the cat deletes? I’m looking for a set.
He passed away a handful of years ago.
@@Lethalgarage oh man, so sorry to hear that. RIP.
Would you happen to know if there’s any other company offering a cat delete?
Hey Lethal did your car throw any codes when you changed out the cats?
Installing these will require a tune to avoid CEL errors. I have not installed these on my car yet.
Lethalhammer I gotcha I would love to hear the sound of your car with these installed! Its a corvette engine with an almost straight through exhaust! What is there not to like? Keep the videos coming and like other comments on this video you deserve more views and subscribers but they will come sooner than later
great video as always.. wouldn't those test pipes need to be tuned ? i know most catless down pipes need a tune just wondering
To avoid a CEL, you will need a tune.
Even to run well I would assume? Maybe ..
+Brian Knox the CEL dosent affect the vehicle negatively just says there may be a problem with them
+Maximes778 That is correct.
+Maximes778 I wasn't talking about a Cel.. I know that I mean as in performance. . I know on my mustang I had to tune for the extra flow
Hey can u plz make a sound video with it , might get it for mine to
+omar negron It is going to be awhile before I can do that.
when you put tests pipe on did you have to do a tune
would these same parts be applicable for the lt4 zl1’s ?
your link takes me to 6le page but they don't have test pipes on their page. wait these throw CELs?
+Cory Craig give them a call: facebook.com/CAPerformance16/
Did u had the check engine on after moving the cats away!
Yes
Highly illegal, but very effective.
what did you do to erase the codes of the check engine?
I have used the spacers sparks to try to delete the check engine light coming on it worked for at least 40 miles but then they came back on
can you give me some ideas on what and how i can fix this issue ???
thanks!!!
+jimmy tello alarcon Honestly, a tune is needed to get around the CEL's.
Great videos bro!! keep them up, gives me great ideas on my 16 Camaro 2ss!! Super charger next? LOL
NA only for me.
LethalGarage what a difference a year makes lol.
I clicked on the link but it shows no exhaust , test pipes or anythin
After deleting your catalytic converters do you smell a lot of gas coming from your car
Yup
where you bought the cat can delete please put the link Store
+jimmy tello alarcon CA Performance Test Pipes: bit.ly/1oQvnNP
Do they not work for 2018 ss?
hey lethal... do you lose torque when installed
You will without a tune in the lower RPM's but will pick it up in the upper rpm range.,
If just removing the secondary cats will I need to get a tune after? Thanks!
do you have results dyno is it worth
I'm waiting for the green cats
greeting brother where can I order those pieces?
You can’t anymore
Such great videos! ... Very informative, thank you

will installing this start reading codes, someone please answer this for me
It will throw a code.
What about high flow cats?
+batbat1156 They are cool and can be used to gain power. Overall most high flow cats are legal in states that have not accepted California emission standards.
+LethalGarage How much is it for a tune to get rid of the CEL if you get these pipes?
Depends on the shop and year of your car. 2016's take 2 tokens, 2017's take 4 tokens, so 2017's cost more.
What is the pipe diameter?
Fairly sure these were 2 3/4”
Check on?
Yup
were can i order those pipes

But... what if it isn't a hobby racer?
+Lethalhammer I just don't see the need for it if you're driving it as a street car most of the time.
You cant just remove your cats and expect it to run right without a tune.
+Gordon Liddy The primary cats... sure, the secondary cats, oh yes you can.
Thats odd never seen dual cats on a car...
+Gordon Liddy The last gen Camaro had them as well.
yay for restriction
+Gordon Liddy Well the secondary cats can be removed without throwing any CEL's or causing issues with the car.
would this fit any aftermarket headers?
