first! cant wait to see what this car does at the track with headers. if u can run 9s with simple intake, e50, headers and tune/trans tune man. pray performance is on a whole other level.
I went with the 2" on my ss. I had to wrap some of the wires with heat tape and then put heat boots over that because the 2" have very little clearance for the wires. Havent had any problems since. The first set got burnt.
@@slickrickdarula9483 alright yes I’ve done research and it’s 50/50 and I just wanted an opinion from someone who hasn’t wrapped them thank you so much appreciate you replying
That's awesome!! I've been waiting for this video and can't wait until you run it at the track. I think that you'll get a 9 second pass. Those headers look huge, but it looks like they are well designed and like you still have plenty of room around your spark plug boots and wires. The car sounds good in both race and stealth mode.
Awesome…I wonder how the power gains compare to a catless setup with mid pipe on the stock cast manifolds. Nothing beats the sound and performance of headers though.
Dont sweat it , chevies exhaust bolts are notorious for breaking. They locktite them in and they are small. I dont know about access on the camaro but on the trucks i just weld a nut to the broken bolt.
Actually glad I jus purchased the 17/8 inch lol. Quik question did you purchase the 02 sensor extension? And if you purchased better gaskets and bolts what kind? Thanks again my friend
Are you going to get the FIC 30% injectors and big bore fuel pump so you can run full ethanol? I been watching Brett’s post on RUclips and he suggested those two mods are a must due to the LT4’s love ethanol
Going off the title, im going to say the headers caused it to feel like the TQ all dropped off it ,lol..happened on my big viper with a blower, I put long tubes on ,and the truck felt like it lost 100 hp, 😂😂😂😂
@@JLSpeed took me about a week working alittle every night, drive side was cake but the PITA was that passenger side. Tried getting it in without pulling the engine mount then gave up and pulled it, didn’t have to do anything with the starter tho. Good content tho man, keep it up. 👍🏻
So what’s the actual acceleration difference vs stock ?? These cars are insane stock . You get little more boost but what’s 0-60 , 1/4 mile time difference???
Hello, not sure if someone has already asked this question or you've answered but did you get your long tubes ceramic coated? Or do you think it will be fine with just the raw stainless steel?
@@JLSpeed Ok, I appreciate your response. Every bit of info helps. I have a 2023 10 speed SS and going to install Kooks 1-7/8 inch long tubes. I was leaning towards leaving them raw steel with no coating. Was just wondering if you noticed any heat issues when you had uncoated headers on your SS? Do you think it will be fine without the ceramic coating?
I never had issues with heat, just make sure on the passenger side that the wire harness is not on the side of the frame rail and moved up to the top of it to have it away from the header.@@johnnyhernandez3729
Bruh maybe you can help me I got zl1 2020. Do you know why the valves are open only when the car is off even if is in touring mode. when the car is on the valve closes
Just got my kooks long tubes for my 19 SS today! Your car runs super hard, just saw what Pray posted on his Facebook page today congrats 💪🏻. Question though, I just got tuned by Pray as well. On average how longs it take for you to get revisions from him after you send data logs? I’ve been waiting a while for a revision from him
It can take anywhere between 2-4 weeks depending on what he has going on and any personal stuff he might have going in with his family. But the great thing is you really only need that one revision for the car to be dialed in. No need to go back and forth getting tons of revisions to get the car running hard. The ZL1 is on just 3 revisions so far he gets it right the first time lol
Awesome, thanks for giving me some peace of mind lol. Just wanted to get the car dialed in and get a good couple runs in before I put it away for winter. Sadly Chicago winters aren’t RWD friendly but it’ll give me an excuse to do some ported heads and a cam 😂
I had texas speed headers on my old 17 ss. They ended up frying my starter. That heat shield is useless. Ceramic coating or wrapping the headers is a must on the 6 gens. Poor location for the starter.
