My kid went to Meyerland. We pulled him out. There was a huge fire the semester after. And there were reports of violence before enough was enough. And, looking around Meyerland the neighborhood, Pin Oak and Catholic school signs far outnumber the Meyerland Greyhound signs. Folks, I hate to say it, but Miles isn't the bad guy here.

Miles is using a corporate business structure to manage an educational system that he doesn't have a clue to do look into third future schools they are struggling due to low numbers and campus struggling academically. I blame Miles for how he's handling the district, the parents Not All of them but some for there lack of consistency and the state of Texas not making public education a priority but allowing corporate owners & religious institutions to take federal funding away from public education. For the longest time they managed until the money dried out then they need a hand out but catholic or Any religious institution gets away with tax exemptions so why do they need more federal dollars to support them....

It was not a “huge” fire and violence was not involved. I have grandchildren there.

@@janisbarnardNot a "huge" fire?! I drove by it. There should not have been any fire, period. And there was violence there. Including an incident with a knife being pulled on students. But good luck trying to get any information through proper channels, including the principal.

How about you start with the parents who for years voted democrat who have run the city into the red.Thry ignored their own children acting like many people do that money is endless.

Why hire all these people with temporary funds? Also teachers can’t be blamed because people don’t raise their children and expect them to learn EVERYTHING at school including home training.

I'm not pointing fingers at any one state.
There are great teachers and staff in America. However, there are many teachers and staff that are not even trying.
Also, there are many schools so busy pushing political garbage that they don't spend appropriate time teaching.
If there wasn't rampant crime in so many states, and the teaching was more important, the parents would not be afraid to send their kids to school.

Mike Miles should be in prison for his charter school business.

Hypocrisy in America. Wow all the discrimination across the US over protests in recent weeks. Where are the police at to stop the protest here. I am just posting a comment not judging the protest in any way. Everyone has a right to protest that is the point i am saying. There are no police on that school grounds protest with tear gas or riot gear.

There is alot of unanswered questions and teachers livelihood shouldn't be on the line based on students ability to learn, bc we all know some of these children come from inconsistent households being raised on tablets, video games and No adult supervision. This district has devolved into a child care first then the educational institution it was meant to be. Once announced NES they made teachers into what they have been complaining about now they are babysitting & it's mandatory they have to choose AM or Pm to watch the kids. Then the NES consists of outsourced educational materials NES is nothing more than School+daycare. It's ashame that our children are being used as a litmus test so they can make education private, third future schools ring a bell even though miles made 40k to consult his own charters he also is having financial issues with those schools so how is he able to run the biggest school district in Texas but yet can't keep his charters in Colorado afloat while using Texas educational taxes dollars to support third future schools in Colorado third .....There need to be an investigation to why is this even legal. But the TEA mike morath and Abbott are now going to have to explain how was this choice making any sense when Miles is also in a budget crisis in his own charter...
