Got a previa, that's what it's called in europe. Love how similar our cars work, makes it easier to prepare for things that car needs fixed. currently has 307k km even though it has been crashed by the previous owner. What an awesome machine Anyway thank you for this content
Heard from a guy who specializes in automatic transmissions, that those 3 speed overdrive transmissions are bullet proof, as long as you flush it every 60 to 80k km.
430k in the 2010 Previa, running mint. Never had to do anything major, just things like shocks, bushings etc and really well maintained. it uses a little bit more oil now, I was thinking about shifting to a high mileage oil but I don't want to jinx it haha
Hello Chris. How much engine oil is your 2az-fe consuming? Mine is about 1 quart for every 3000km, which i think is too much, although toyota manual says its normal. Any tips on how to reduce it? Would replacing the valve cover gasket help? If so, how many km interval between should the gasket be replaced? Sorry for asking too many questions :)
Mine uses 1 litre per 4,000km but has been doing that for the last 85,000km. The valve cover gasket I replaced @ 230,000km but didn't leak enough to make a difference to oil consumption. Tips for reducing, I run a thicker oil 10w40 instead of 5w30.
I know that if you take spark plug out in the evening. Pure abot 150ml of engine oil flush in every cylinder. Live it for a night and in the morning blow as much of it out as possible with air preasure. Then change oil to fresh and hopefully the rings on your pistons will be clear of any dirt by that time and will spread a bit more witch should give an reduced oil consumption effect
Thank you for your service Chris! Very much appreciated! Please advise if you're going to replace a condensor. My last two rows of it are shot but not leaking. Not sure if it should be replaced. My Previa is at 277.000KM.
Hi do you know what colour coolant you need for this car and how many litres ? Also if there and where to bleed the air out of the coolant ? Planning on flushing the coolant thinking of using Toyota long life what do you recommend ? Regards
It is the green coolant and 6.5 litres. That toyota long life coolant is very good just make sure you don't mix red with green it will turn into brown jelly like mess. For bleeding the system the radiator cap is the highest point, I wait till the thermostat opens end squeeze the top radiator hose to burp it. Fill the overflow bottle up and keep an eye on it for a couple of days it will pull more coolant into the system.
I would say the wreckers but they are getting harder to find that model. There is a Facebook page "Tarago owners" that has people selling this kind of stuff, you might want to try this
The weak point of this car is the transmission 1st gear planetary gear set. As these wear they whine in first gear which mine has done since I've owned it. I heard yours sounds exactly the same when you pulled away from the house. Does this noise concern you as it plays on my mind often. Apart from that worry i love my estima!
@@chrisbiker919 This puts my mind at rest a bit more, I religiously change my transmission fluid with genuine Toyota which I learned from your videos. many thanks!
Hi Chris thanks for the video. Did you find much difference in power/ fuel consumption when you put the K&N air filter in? I’ve been thinking about getting one it’s only the price that has stopped me. Thanks mate.
No noticeable difference in power. Fuel consumption was better but that could have been because the old paper one was dirty. The main reason I bought it was because I knew I was going to keep the van for a long time and didn't want to keep buying new paper elements.
Glad you makes these videos! They are really helpful. From Taiwan and I have a 2004 Previa with 27,0000km on it.
Thanks for the comment and you have a great van there.
Gave me confidence that my 190k+ toyota can go much further..keep on doing these vids
It should do double that😎
346.000 km , greetings from Prague. Water pump, Belt changed. All fine working :-) thank you for great Videos!
Thanks for the comment, I am up to 309,000 km now and still going strong
This has given me confidence to work on my own instead of taking it to a mechanic who I really don't trust
Love hearing comments like this. Thanks for the comment

Totally agree, couldn't ask for a better running van. Never lets me down.

That's good to know.
Nice service clip buddy.
Thanks Mate, I enjoy your channel too

I tried diesel oil that is still rated for gas/petrol engines. It almost cut the oil burning in half.
Nice beard 😊
Anyway I love your drive

Hi Chris I have a 97 tarago, but recently had hail damage to moon roof and sunroof any idea where I can get these from thanks

Do a estima parking sensor video
My Tarago doesn't have these, have to do it the old fashion way 🙂
@@chrisbiker919 mine has but when I compare it with another car then maybe I will show

It has been making that noise for 10 years, since I bought it. Have done over 150,000 km I would not worry.
