    Do you think it is worth buying the Active 2.0 over a cheaper pressure washer?

      It definitely rinses the car off faster like I mentioned, which is nice, but I mean, does that really matter to you? Also, from more experimenting, you do get better and thicker foam using this machine, but you do have to use more soap. So what really matters to you is the question? I got this as a Christmas gift, but I don't think I would've ever paid $350 for it with my own money.

    I also appreciate people's efforts to buy better and throw less away. So I appreciate companies that make longer lasting products. Even if they are more expensive in the beginning, the cost over the life of the unit should be lower.

    As far as the foaming goes, have you tried Adam's Mega Foam car wash soap? I was hesitant to try it due to the cost ($61.00 for 1 gallon), but it was on sale on Amazon Prime Day so I purchased it. Holy moly, what a difference in foam over the Chemical Guys Maci Suds soap. Now there is no going back. You should give it a try. Great Video by the way.

      Griots foaming surface wash is what I used in this video. I also use Adams. They both foam up about the same, but the griots is slightly more lubricated so I prefer it when handwashing

  • @superawes0meguy151
    @superawes0meguy151 2 месяца назад +2

    For foaming, have you tried using a 1.1mm orifice on your foam cannon? I a similar issue with my Karcher 1800 and the change made a noticeable difference.

    • @HammysShowcase

      My outlet will pop if I use a smaller orifice. But I discovered that if I want better foam, I just have to use more soap. I was able to get away with about 1oz of soap previously, but with thr Active I gotta use between around 2oz for good thick foam.

  • @whitegoodman7465
    @whitegoodman7465 26 дней назад +1

    Soap dilution, hard water and foam cannon orifice will affect foaming.

  • @mechaet33
    @mechaet33 3 месяца назад +1

    The mjjc should have also came with a 1.25 orifice. Swap it out and foam should thicken. 1.1 is optimized for lower flow units like ryobis.

    • @HammysShowcase
      @HammysShowcase  3 месяца назад +1

      It did. I did some more experimenting after this video and figured out you just have to use more soap when using the Active 2.0. Gotta use about 2oz of soap instead of only 1 or 1.5oz. Not a huge deal. Using a smaller orifice would blow my circuits, draws too much power

    After taking back 3 Ryobi $99 units I purchased the Active. One burned up and two others kept pulsing nonstop when turned on. Hopefully the active has not issues. It should be here in a few days.

    • @HammysShowcase
      @HammysShowcase  Месяц назад

      Highly unlikely you got 3 dead machines. Ryobi products are actually pretty good. When I first got my Ryobi I thought it had problems like you, and I replaced it twice before I realized it wasn't the machine that was the problem. Seeing as you are on your third machine it is likely due to your water supply or hose.
      1. The garden hose you are using is too long. Anything longer than 50ft will seize up the machine and it will not work, same for the Active.
      2. You don't have enough water flow from your spigot
      3. You might not have enough psi from your spigot.
      4. Not clearing the hose and machine of air before turning it on and running it.
      If any of these are the reason, you're going to have an issue with thr Active as well.

      @@HammysShowcase They were defective machines. The first one worked fine two days. On the 3rd day it would continuously surge about every 3 seconds while on. The second one was working fine until it started burning. I don't know what was burning but the smell of burnt plastic/wire started. The 3rd one did the same as the first after a few uses. They all made a terrible squealing noise when you let off the sprayer. Hopefully the Active doesn't do the same. Spigot pressure is decent and the hose is 50ft. I always bleed the air before use.

      Interesting. I use the mjjc as well and I just can't seem to get the same thickness of foam that I do with my lower gpm pressure washer. I can't use the 1.1mm orifice tho because my outlet can't handle the extra amps it pulls

      Turns out I just needed to use more soap. Gotta use just under 2oz and it gives really good foam. Requires about 1.8 - 2oz of soap for a good thick foam. 1.5oz or less is alittle runny

    So no regrets from a sound perspective? I have the Ryobi as well and it's annoyingly loud. On video, the Active 2.0 sounds very similar. I know the 2.3 is coming out with a different motor but I'm not a pro... and dropping $650 on ANOTHER pressure washer seems like a bad purchase :) Great content.

    Foam quality has to do with several factors, including dilution rate (as a result of orifice size and flow rate), and output pressure. You can’t judge the pressure washer’s foaming capabilities based on the parameters of this test. There are too many variables.

    Only reason people think they need to have 2.0gpm is because of some RUclipsrs telling them what to think since they are profiting off of it too. Anything with 1.2 on up will work just fine for this application and will have no problem using a foam cannon either.

      I agree. I've been using my Active alot more since making this video and have come to the conclusion that it actually makes your foam runnier. Been using alot more soap than I normally did on my 1.4 gpm machine and I still can't get as good of foam.

    You should try. doing smooth even long strokes. with the. lance work, Your usage. of the lance. was in my opinion a little stuttering or. the strokes. too. short and uneven.. long and smooth. and even and controlled. = efficient. ..., The pressure washer is fine .... Best pressure washer imo is the kränzle. 1400. RPM - 7 litres per minute. because it can suck. VERY efficiently. from a static. water. tank and also. the 7 litres is optimal for water usage economy..... Think about getting a 40/40 reverse osmosis system ! to kept. your. water supply filled up with. Pure water. Eventually you can move onto higher volume. pressure washers. for quicker rinsing etc.. but again these are only available with. petrol pressure washers ( 16 plus Liters. per minute ). You could in effect move onto house washing , window cleaning and. Concrete. as well and earn much much more... food for thought
