I'm really happy with how experimental the developer got with this game. He could have easily just banked on the proven formula but decided to do more. For those that don't know. Yellow Sign essentially unlocks the endgame
Yeah! The game seems super simple at first, which it kinda is, but it's impossible to deny that it's made with love and passion. It knows what it wants to be and it achieves it perfectly
bro I pulled the free version off of the Apple Store, and then I encountered the Yellow Sign without any knowledge of it. Holy shit did I fear that I downloaded malware or something.
I love the level leading up to it. Near the end where space warps and then the weird sky church thing and then those hands, not to mention it doesn't even have a sprite for the item itself... not to mention some of the thing Tyler is going to be able to unlock now. I am very much looking forward to these next few videos.
Pssst: Moongolow doesn't *quite* have every item. If you ever want to do an all items run, you'll need to grab a level of Torrona's Box before you run round grabbing the rest.
The Grim Grimoire will only show evolutions of already discovered evolutions on the save file. So when you get a new weapon you have to experiment on how to evolve the weapon first.
@@amberwarrior459 If the evolutions are not discovered the evolution and passive item to evolve it will show up as question marks until you acquire the evolved weapon. I cannot remember that if you get the evolved weapon through the Super Candybox II Turbo (like the Candybox but gives evolved weapons instead) that it will unlock the path or not.
while I have yet to play this game myself, I'm fairly sure the yellow sign is a reference to the cthulhu mythos - there's a great old one within that called Hastur, known to bestow a yellow sign upon various people to get them under their control. The yellow sign is known to grant those who have seen it various supernatural abilities.
The King in Yellow was another story by Robert.W.Chambert if you like Romance and super natural you should read it. Lovecraft got inspired by hit after reading it.
Not seeing the rings or the left and right magic on the maps while he plays will always feel strange to me... at this point they feel like part of the game, but are actually an unlock
I just played this character you were playing in the first part of this video. It doesn't have 2 modes. It spawns the spikes for a certain amount and when you right or left click the mouse OR stop, it fires the pinions in the exact direction you are currently facing. so the strat is to line them up, face the mobs and face their direction and either stop or click
I think the way the gold fever's bar works is that it drains faster and faster, and each gold you pick up refreshes it by the same small amount - so it will drain and run out eventually, but if you get enough gold from it you can keep it going for a long time
Highest i got was around 750k gold but that was HELLA optimized but wasn't the ideal build I believe in that run I got around 70 million gold total after some overnight farming

Great that you got yellow sign AND happened to meet the requirements to unlock big trouser (which are to finish a run in moongolow with all the passive items you can pick up fully leveled. This includes tiragasu which you lose when you run out of revives so it can be really hard to accidentally get the unlock as even if you complete the stage the red reaper will drain all your revives meaning you technically don’t have max tiragasu at the end of the level and don’t get the unlock)

The merchant kind of unlocks the postgame essentiallly with golden eggs. You can use trouser to farm gold and earn a bajillion gold, then spending it on golden eggs to form an infinite loop, and get the most broken character with like +10k% stats
Shadow pinion is amazing, the 'harpoon' launches in the direction of your movement from the spikes on the ground. This means you can control the area and concentration of damage from this weapon. Its rlly fun to play
I did my first run in moongalow with the dog character that has celestial dusting, that is truly the worst weapon for the secret level by far. The secret is pretty easy with po tho since he just one shots pretty much everything that comes your way

@@waterinferno2071 happens if two cats collide, catss eating chicken raises the chance (and adds a tiny scaling damage buff ) causes friendly fire, scales with amount and luck more than anything.... its evolved form is a BIT cracked though, especially on a gold farmer Big Trouser
Getting the yellow sign is probably my favorite experience with the game, I never would have done moongolow if it weren't for a friend pushing me to do it since it was his favorite level.
I actually know how the attack works when you walk it builds up the spikes on the ground and when you stop moving it launches them in the direction you were facing
2 vampire survivors videos in a row? This is amazing. Also the thing in bone zone isn't cuz of the yellow sign but Oyu should go there anyways. Also as a hint for what you should do next time. - get 2 weapons that don't do damage but are good for reapers - you'll need a lot of levels

im sure you’ve already heard of them but there are four hidden items on each map, which evolve in pairs and with the laurel/clock lancet, I highly recommend trying them
I love this game and the passive items you get from yellow sign allows for better gold grind if needed. They also have a surprise if you get to close to them so be prepared.
If you ever pick up Shadow Pinion again, be aware that if you're willing to use the mouse and keyboard together, Shadow Pinion can be laid using the arrow keys for movement and fired by pressing the mouse button.
so that cutscene is apparently a cthullu reference. the yellow sign is a reference to the king in yellow. the shadowy clapping hands are apparently the being responsible for making the sign. the weird text is representing the insanity the sign gives people
My playthrough encountering this was the character that only has a pentagram to start. Good lord, that made this stressful. Barely managed to clear it before dying

The story of the game is really weird, but I like it slightly spoilerish fun fact (if you watch the video, it won't be spoilers, just a regular fun fact): Typing "iwanttoseeitagain" on the main menu allows you to go back to holy forbidden (the name of the level with the yellow sign)

whoever is watching this one year later series, one year later, let it be known that there is no random damage, the damage numbers are not accurate as they show +5 to -5 damage of what the weapon is actually doing, but the weapon always does the same damage. for example if a weapon does 15 damage, it always does 15 damage, but the damage numbers might show 10 to 20
While I agree, I don't blame him on not playing with maximum efficiency because playing on this map can be very overstimulating when you're not fully prepared/experienced

He has great logical reasoning skills, but absolutely blows it when it comes to roguelikes. It's not like he doesn't know how math works, he played the calculator game pretty well as well. Just a mild gripe of mine, you might see me whining in some of the roguelike vids like Peglin. Personally, it irks me a lot when someone blames the game after shooting themselves in the foot, especially if that person is smart.

Wow gold farming has gotten way easier. I remember when gold farming was just minmaxxing the levels and people got to like 200-300 per run for like 5K a run.

I got it up to like 119k one time. Shit is nutty. Also important to note it goes up by like 1 coin per enemy killed.

how shadow pinion works is that it lays spikes while you move which can then be fired by stopping. it does nothing while you are standing still

It's possible he just forgot how the pickup item looked like. I experienced the gold rush a few times before I realized which pickup was causing it

Just fyi wether a chest can evolve doesn't depend on the current time, it depends on when the biss that dropped it spawned.

If you want more levels, why not prioritise crown? Surely early max crown will easily override any wasted exp alongside high curse levels.
