Have you ever tried using a hot air gun on that faded red plastic. I restored a green Yamaha 660 that was white with oxidization and it looks like new, the hot air gun worked like magic and brought back the original color. no sanding needed, even the black plastic came back to life.

Makes sense. I've done that on automotive black plastic before with good results. You'll see in future videos, I plan on painting it a complete different color.

Canada. I sanded mine with 400 grit and clear coated, not nearly as good as yours but it’ll do

Do you think any kind of clear coat would work? Like in a rattle can?

Yes, but it is harder to get a rattle can to look good and probably won't last as long.
