I have a pair of curtain panels which I made from a vintage Italian Filet Crochet tablecloth. The tablecloth would have been over 5 and 1/2 foot long. I had a mere 48" diameter oak Colonial Revival pedestal table, so the huge tablecloth was carefully cut down the middle to make 2 equal sections, carefully sewn by me by hand to make edges matching; I carefully beaded a fancy glass swag-like fringe along the bottom. One curtain went into the kitchen; the other into the dining room window. Both windows were over 5' long and I had to make a folded 'valance' at the top to accommodate a narrow solid brass rod -- just over 1/4" thick, yet not quite 1/2" thick) (not hollow) with the proper width fabric casing to accommodate the lengthy (& heavy) filet crochet curtain panels. I will be hanging these up again soon in the windows at west and east corners of living room -- I have to resew the casings from fitting on the former thinner solid brass window rods to thicker solid oak wood 3/4" thick dowels! I will enjoy having these hang up again! They will allow light in during the spring and summer day. Adding privacy at night, also.

Each curtain panel is over 5.5' wide -- not quite 6' -- Imagine the work it took to crochet it by hand! It is over 130 years old. Looks brand new as to beige / eggshell colored cotton twist cord used in filet crochet design!

*Declutter, declutter and declutter: that's the secret. Not of what is precious to us, but of what we just got so used to have that we no more even see them, but they make life heavier and uglier. That is at least my point and I've been working on it since a while... Acutualy, since a long while...*

Am glad there are group homes in my area, I declutter regularly, and donate to them. I encourage others to do likewise because they take all types household items, yard tools and most anything. when we moved to a retirement community, we got rid of things. I still declutter what's not being used.

Actually…. Many seniors need to have “throw rugs” removed. There is a real danger of tripping. Just keep that in mind while making your home cozy. 😊

I really dislike these AI voiced videos

AI voices speak clearly and getting more "natural sounding" recently.
