the A959 has a cult following online, if you look in youtube some of the A959's have big numbers of views. They even make an all metal replacement kit to replace all the plastic parts. They do a brushless 959 which hits about 90km/h. Just because it's not so widely known doesn't mean it's not any good. You should get the brushless one and that'd silence some of the critics.... There are a huge amount of manufacturers out there waiting to be discovered, someone probably has a gem of a car out there that's half the price of traxxas and twice as fast, people are just afraid of the unknown.
Indeed the downside about a959 is you're not going to find spares off the shelf! I've tried the 540 motor A959 and it's acceleration is brutal. Someday I shall try the brushless version.

Some very valid point, I have a custom car workshop and the paint trade is full of rip off merchants and people who use social media to make there work look amazing, block all people who call them out or bad workmanship they've had done. I'm not really all that into RC cars. But I like them. I've gotten tired of crappy toy grade RC cars that don't ever work very well at all. So I started researching to find the best RC car I can buy for around $50. Hands down, no contest, the wltoys l595, a595, and a595-b are the best bang for your buck in that price range. They just are.
Seems very strange if people are on your back because of the WLToys A959-B. It’s been years since they got popular and recognized world wide as good fun and value for the money. Probably the most popular RTR RC car under 100$ nowadays. I got 100s of thousands views with these cars on my channel, and even though I have no affiliate links I would be happy to recommend them :-) Keep on recommending and testing them, mate. Cheers.
I've said many times how much I appreciate your honesty, so many youtubers with big audiences just say what they think their watchers want to hear, judging everything based on price with no hands on experience and it just contributes towards a vicious cycle of elitism and fanboying. Elitism is a major problem in this hobby. There are vehicles to suit different budgets and there's more than one way to have fun with RC. I can't think of anything much more ridiculous than when you see a RUclipsr review a toy grade or entry level hobby grade is if the car is aspiring to be a $1000 hobby grade and failing. It reminds be a bit of musical elitists where for example, metal fans judge a guitarist from another genre as if he is trying and failing to be a metal guitarist, makes no sense! The Apple vs Samsung comparison is spot on. I don't know why people feel they have to be loyal to, or limit themselves to, a single brand. It's the same in the photography world too, Canon fans vs Nikon vs Sony etc. I have a Canon, a Sony and a Panasonic and they all have their own strengths and weaknesses but I like them all. Why limit yourself out of a misplaced sense of loyalty that isn't reciprocated by your beloved brand?

I agree, i have traxxas, hpi, hobao, i am an addict and i also have a couple of wltoys, the a959b it's as solid as you say it is, for the price it's unbelievable. So good infact that i put a brushless combo in it, it stood up well, didn't even destroy a spur on 3s. I wore the tyres down to the rim before it broke. Parts are easy available too. There will always be haters. Most of us value your opinion
I bought one of those tiny ones it was good for the 40 bucks I paid for it it broke after a while stopped staring. But now I'm going to rebuild it with a tiny little brushless set up and my daughter can still have fun
I sucks that you even had to make this video. You just can’t please everyone. I recommend your channel to people because you do a fair review, have fun, and have a lot of knowledge to share. I love Arrma vehicles, but I also own many Traxxas rigs as well. I have both positive and negative to say about both. My LHS trashed Arrma until the suit was settled, they started stocking them, and now can’t keep them on the shelves. It’s all about the money to some. Those that can do a fair assessment of both will have more trust of the public. Can’t wait to see your Arrma review. Very good video Kev. I agree 100% on the topic, I traded a guy my 40+ model cars collection that I collected over 10 years and had maybe 400 dollars in them for a Carrera 1/18 brushed buggy very close to the wltoys a959. He said it worked good but had no battery with it, I took his word and traded him and as soon as I got a battery for it the esc went up in smoke. I think I got a bad deal and it didn't feel good. So I'm very happy you are honest and care about us! Keep it up Kev!

I did buy a Arrma rc and will NEVER make that mistake again.. I'm not going to dog them out . They do it to themselves..lol but you are right about Traxxas they do have a better products than most. Granted you Have to upgrade any rc car or truck that's just the nature of the beast. Unfortunately a lot of people can afford to and that's why they're so mad. Why do people keep thinking that car is trash if you buy one and get it yourself that car is incredibly fast stock I have one they're the best little starter cause you could ever possibly get yeah. Breaks too easily but you can also upgrade the parts to steal or aluminum
I honestly cant wait to buy my Arrma Kraton V3. It will be alot of saving up and it will be a once purchase thing. It will bring me into the Electric world of RC as im tired of nitro, I just want to have fun and its gotten to the point where I can't anymore as its problem after problem. After looking around I wanted to go full out and so im gonna buy this as its fast and its a monster truck/truggy hybrid which i love. Hopefully i can learn something from your review of the arrma before I go and splash out.

I can vouch for this rc it is tough and fast and it's brushed 35mph plus. I have one and beat it up and it's still running great.

Hey Ken I can appreciate your honesty from one business man to another you are absolutely right. If your customer basis has no respect for your opinions then you have already lost. I did buy a Arrma rc and will NEVER make that mistake again.. I'm not going to dog them out . They do it to themselves..lol but you are right about Traxxas they do have a better products than most. Granted you Have to upgrade any rc car or truck that's just the nature of the beast. Unfortunately a lot of people can afford to and that's why they're so mad. I have been driving and flying rc now for almost 45 years. Yeah I do know the products crawlers, short course ,stadium or just good ol monster truck bashing. Eflight and traxxas should get together to develope a plane or two..

Why do people keep thinking that car is trash if you buy one and get it yourself that car is incredibly fast stock I have one they're the best little starter cause you could ever possibly get yeah. Breaks too easily but you can also upgrade the parts to steal or aluminum

I honestly cant wait to buy my Arrma Kraton V3. It will be alot of saving up and it will be a once purchase thing. It will bring me into the Electric world of RC as im tired of nitro, I just want to have fun and its gotten to the point where I can't anymore as its problem after problem. After looking around I wanted to go full out and so im gonna buy this as its fast and its a monster truck/truggy hybrid which i love. Hopefully i can learn something from your review of the arrma before I go and splash out.
With the Kraton, set the end points for steering or servo die, and put something like 100k 150k or more in center diff. And enjoy.
