    The Montreux Jazz Festival takes place for two weeks every summer in Switzerland, drawing 250,000 music lovers to the shores of Lake Geneva. Since 1967, the Festival has celebrated all genres of music and generated countless legendary performances. Artists who have graced the stage of Montreux include Aretha Franklin, David Bowie, Prince, Bob Dylan, Lauryn Hill, Kendrick Lamar, Leonard Cohen, Marvin Gaye, Miles Davis, Nina Simone and many more.

    It's only two weeks that I've heard his music, though I knew the name. I can't believe it took so long but so glad I did. It is freakin amazing.

    I always thought Shuggie could pass for one of the Debarge brothers. Even his singer voice reminded me of El and Bobby.

    I saw Shuggie Otis a few years back at the Sinclair in Boston, MA. I got to meet him and his brother Nicky after the show. They were just hanging out on the sidewalk after the show. Very humble people. Of course - great musicians. I hope to get to see them again. What a show!!!

    Even his father said the didn't understand all of the opportunities he turned down. His father talked about a time Shuggie was on tour, played 2 dates and called the whole thing off because he was homesick.
