Most people overlook the Brazilian city of Recife for the more popular Rio de Janeiro and Salvador, but that’s a big mistake! Recife is a hidden gem with a stunning coastline, modern architecture mixed in with colonial era buildings, really friendly locals and great food! What did you think of it?
I’m Brazilian 🇧🇷 and I love your channel! It’s great to see your point of view about everything… I’ll give you a tip about a place that is absolutely beautiful and very historical in Brazil, it’s in the countryside of Rio de Janeiro and it’s where the Portuguese 🇵🇹 royal family used to live, it’s called: Petrópolis. Love you Malini!! Thank you for portraying Brazil in this lovingly inspiring way ❤️ Happy 2025, lots of love and happiness!!
Thank you for highlighting the origins of the wealth in Recife. It’s easy to get lost in the current vibes of the city, and its neighborhoods and forget the millions of lives lost. The boy and his bird tell a sad tale.
@@michaelwilcox5168he was so sweet, I went back the next day to meet him and his mum they sadly were homeless, and I was able to help a little, but he was so polite and really left an impression on me. It’s important to not just paint a romanticised picture of these places, thank you 🙏
Didn't find your videos until the other day. You are very beautiful and talented. What has stood out is your innate ability to really connect and empathize with people. Everywhere you go, you have done a great job of telling the stories of the places and the people, showing the people and getting them to really open up to you. It has helped elevate your series to a whole new level. You are truly open, honest and sincere.
je suis resté 3 mois à Recife une magnifique ville et Olinda un ville juste sublime, votre vidéo me fait remonter pleins de souvenirs !!! magnifique vidéo !!!!
Wonderful production. You have a very natural and engaging approach to talking to locals and so far I have counted four languages in your repertoire - a very impressive addition to your presentation. Very confident work and the fact you visit less familiar locations adds genuine intrigue to your videos. Brilliant.
I’ve added a new city to my travel list, thanks for sharing! I didn’t know much about this city before, I like how you covered the complex colonial past, and the food looks great!
Malini you saying recife is amazing and it is also so are you . Your beautiful 😍 so much content and information thank you for all the knowledge. I think I'll have a visit.
It’s clearly a home from home to you… looking relaxed and happy! This was a welcome watch on a dull grey rainy New Year’s Day … much appreciated and I’m more than envious of the lifestyle many of these lucky people enjoy (but I note it’s not all wealth, good times and glamour) … we just can’t get near the way these people relax and interact with each other…. Thanks again 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for visiting my city!! I love living here and i'm really happy that you made this awesome video about it. +1 sub, i loved your content!
Malini you're a star! Thank you for your awesome content, I love how you showcase places getting into the culture of the locations, unafraid to try foods many would be squeamish about (like morcilla). And talk to the locals in their language. My fave was your visit to Puerto Rico but I admit some bias being a Puerto Rican myself 😉. Happy new year🥳 to you and all the rest of you out there! Keep up the good work! I can't wait to see what else you have in store for us in 2025. 😘 By the way, how long do you on average spend away from home? Just curious.
another great video, Malini. I think many of us want to visit brazil but hear different views about the safety of going there. Hope you can shed some light on this in your next video. Would love to see you here in Montreal, Canada ❤️ Happy new year 🎉
Good morning Angélica, how kind of you to post a video of one of the cities in one of the most famous states in Brazil. I'm Brazilian with great pride. Welcome, wonder woman. Happy New Year to you and your family. Sweet kisses.🌹🥰😘🇧🇷

Quite impressive your ability with languages and the connections that u make with the places that you visit, did u go to university or is all self learning?
So beautiful Recife. Great video. Although I live in Brazil (São Paulo), I've never been to Recife. It Looks so hot but looks amazing too. Come to São Paulo.😊 you'll try lots of delicilious food from different places. Thank you for the content.
Hi! I was born in Recife! 6 years I don't set a foot in Brazil. *Fun fact:* Recife is home to the Kahal Zur Israel Synagogue, the first synagogue established in the Americas. Jews moved from Recife to New York following the Portuguese conquest of the Dutch-controlled Pernambuco region in 1654. Under Dutch rule, Recife had been a relatively tolerant haven where Jews could freely practice their religion. However, the Portuguese reinstated the Inquisition upon regaining control, leading to persecution of Jews. To escape this oppression, a group of 23 Sephardic Jews fled to New Amsterdam (now New York), forming the foundation of what would become the first Jewish community in the United States. It’s fascinating to imagine how Recife might have become as significant as New York if they hadn’t been forced to leave.
Again thank you so much ! This is a stunning episode of Brazil 🇧🇷 I’m dying to go visit it seems such an amazing country and lots of great people different culture all this in laid back atmosphere ❤ Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I get really inspired when I see such amazing travel vlogs! Take care and all the best for 2025 I’m so looking forward to see which places you ll hit next and make me discover Sabrina 🇫🇷🇬🇧

Sim, eu adoro o clima brasileiro. Sempre animado, com dança, futebol, comida, bebida, carnaval, etc. 🌹💚

@@kuuhaku-davizim4071really, because I think you see a lot more crime and Rio on the news a lot more for the drug cartels than Recife, tourists are also targeted for robbery. I felt Recife is more modern and safer personally.
Yes I did, you just have to make sure you stick to safe areas, for example you’re not going to wonder into a favela or low income neighbourhood for no reason where you may have trouble, it’s common sense precautions don’t dress all fancy wear nice clothes jewellery etc. Brazilians are very welcoming you’ll be fine!
