Ey listen Ton this guyyeeehh Elias thinks he can run his so called “elias shad” up and down through our port up in Yonkers. I think we deserve 10% as our share.
Hey Elias, quick report from back home: Got my PB flounder, 24”. Also, my bud that I’ve been dragging out with me caught his 2nd fish ever on artificials, first flounder ever, and caught the shit out of ‘um, too. Banner day. Flounder being shutdown didn’t affect the smiles on our faces one bit. Cheers from Brunswick County! Enjoy your break from the heat up there (I’m jelly)
nice video as always interesting seeing you using a hummingbird fish finder since I renumber watching you on the red outback back in Jamaica bay u always used the lowrance
Put effort into SP this spring and caught some greys, blues, various bottom jobbers, it was fun worked well. I’ve caught flounder in the surf on it casting and popping it in - cheers man
Man! Love this channel! Been subscribed for a minute! Thanks for all the great content!! I live in KY, but I’m getting bring the fam to Carolina Beach the week of the 4th! Gonna try to rent a kayak while I’m down there and finally try my hand at some saltwater kayak fishing. Anyone know the area and have suggestions on where to go and what to use to try to catch some dinner one night?
This is awesome. How do you think the metal lures would work with southern flounder? The hook-pull problem is just as bad or worse in my experience with them.
Great video, cool to see the slow pitch option…. Nice variety of fish. Looked like a lot of fun. 12+ drifts no bites … ouch great patience on your part. Cheers
Would love to see more slow pitch vids…also love to have you list a similar jig that isn’t discontinued…and maybe has better hooks? 😂 Cheers and tight lines🤙🏻🍻 🎣
Better to do split ring to small swivel and crimp a big river bait gami hook onto the swivel. The hook can freely spin for better hookups and they can’t get leverage on the lure
it is mostly a placebo - instead do this - do a bit of r&d and make a plastic syringe plus your own ground up liquified menhaden/pogies/herring (oily) with plenty of salt and then freeze them (with some air to allow for expansion) in a supercold chest freezer - they may not freeze totally but that is ok - mail them out in insulated small boxes with ice. you inject soft plastics with a few cc of the goop and then it leaves a scent trail instead of washing off - less of a placebo
@@terrybleterry I believe he transported them in the back of his truck. But it’s not too difficult to transport kayaks. I drove from North Carolina to Central America with a Hobie outback and two longboards in board bags strapped on top of a ‘91 pathfinder. Just gotta make sure your load is secured. Cheers!
@@EliasVFishing Slow pitch jigs are designed to flutter on the fall, give slack line during the fall or just simply give out line if the current picked up the jig will work and of course you can bring it up in the water column and use the same technique. Tight line during the fall will not generate as much flutter.
@@FishingHam very cool wow thank you. Will this technique work in no tide and 10’ of water or less? I must have made a mistake casting them. Imagine how many I would have caught otherwise!

Very nicest. I’ve caught several flounders using a slow pitch jigs.. they really work well with the right condition.

When the tog first came up i thought it was a trigger fish for a second and was like 😮😮😮
Try adding gulp alive 1” minnow to the assist hooks, helps out in dirty water

Thanks Elias, Enjoyed the Vid, Hard to beat a Fluke or Paddletail o a 1/4 oz.
1/4 in 30 feet of water with current?
This is awesome. How do you think the metal lures would work with southern flounder? The hook-pull problem is just as bad or worse in my experience with them.
Just as bad probably - the summer flounder fishery does trend a bit deeper so it’s easier to work metal lures imo.
Nice fish!
for the recording, are you using the HINDSIGHT function?
or just record everything from start to end?
thanks!
How do you feel about NC closed flounder season?
Sir Elias take care always GOD bless
@johnskinnerfishing and Elias colab is what we need!
So are you on the ePDL pretty much 100% now?
Pretty much
Great video, cool to see the slow pitch option….

Calico crabs make excellent fluke bait.
Hey Elias what is a comparable brand/jig to that one that’s discontinued?
On the west coast they call them starry flounder.
Interesting!
Would love to see more slow pitch vids…also love to have you list a similar jig that isn’t discontinued…and maybe has better hooks? 😂
Cheers and tight lines🤙🏻🍻 🎣
Zoom flukes would be interesting
That’s bluefish city there
👍😎✌
TY Elias
Maybe put an extra split ring so there are 2 on the hook end of the jig. Less chance to get leverage on the hook.
Maybe I’ll play with that idea. Like it.

I like your UL for jigging
Elias - I do alot of shore jigging and would love to know what hooks work best for when I target flounder
Haven’t messed much with the metals but my instinct is a single inline would be best!
Omg. You are giving me LI ptsd.
1st bridge terrible. Gotta go to around captree to that mess of charters

Cool idea for sure. Might be a bit out of my league with that work load but I bet it should work!
You carried that kayak on your car all the way from NC?

13:06 bottom of what now?
I still don’t know what “slip gut” is. Can someone explain?
It’s a “slimy weed” usually a brown color. Drapes over lures and line . Pain in the butt
I want to see slow pitch tog jigging become a thing
I got a nice tog on a deadly dick fishing for alblies 😂
Bluefish city
Came to the comments for a link to that micro jig. Unobtainable tech. 😭
Maybe I’ll start making em.
@@EliasVFishing please do and make them in tungsten as well. =) super effective for small profile bait in deeper water.
Robert Moses bridge
First?
Please sir give me one set of fishing gear I'm a fisherman
Thats what jobs are for
I am sorry to say that your jigging technique is not how to work the slow pitch jig.
I hear ya. It’s technically “shore skidding” but I don’t know much about fishing just started.
