- Hope's monologue is all about going to the track at Santa Anita. The guest is Judy Garland, who was on the cusp of superstardom, with "The Wizard of Oz" about to premiere later that year.

I feel a sudden urge to rush out and by some pepsodent toothpaste.
A delight to hear Judy sing and talk with Bob Hope around the Wizard of Oz time. Funny that she mentioned Tyrone Power whom she later had an affair with.
Patsy Kelly was greatness on her jokes ,but the way she delivered was even more awesome...she was the 'Last partner' of the Great Thelma Todd on those Hal Roach duo short comedies after Zasu Pitts called quits from them...
I know they were all just standing around microphones, but it would have been awesome to watch Judy sing "It Had to be You."
I think the guy said "dude" around
2X for breakfast... :)
Was Mel Frank writing for this show? I knew his son, Jimmy Frank, briefly. Last I heard he was in the "Springs of Palm" somewhere, lol...
IDo you have "The Bob Hope Show " from Christmas night December 25th, 1945? His guest that night was singer and actor Tony Martin who celebrated his 32nd Birthday. I await your reply.
It's not surprising how hip the tone of this show was. They were extremely clever people, after all. A few of the jokes were clunkers, but nobody cared.
