    I had a friend who met Bob Hope y she came to my home all excited about her new experience y to share. She said he was a very nice man in person y happy to have met him. I enjoy this video because it was a time when America needed laughs. The country was not as disturbed y full of hate like it is now. In 1966 people respected each other y love was pretty much out there with the hippie movement y the country was Christian. You weren't a target for your beliefs like today. Antisemitism had died down for the most part. You could ring a rich person's door y be welcomed into their home almost immediately. I remember how people were decent then y I was glad to alive.

    Bob Hope is literally an American Treasure. The Comics today should watch some of these old shows and learn what REAL COMEDY was/ IS.
    Rip “Ole Ski Nose”….And FYI…that was Bob Hope’s nickname. He gave it to himself. What a guy.!

      @fromthesidelines 2 года назад +2

      Harvey Korman played a villain named "Hedley Lamarr" in Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles" (1974). A running gag throughout the film is that people call him "Hedy" instead of "Hedley", which he kept correcting in frustration. Governor LePetomaine {Mel} reminds him, "What the hell are you worried about? This is 1874. You'll be able to sue *her!"* In fact, she did sue Mel and the studio for making fun of her name. I believe the case was dismissed.

    To find who Bob Hope is,read the book,Transformation of America by Cathy O'Brien. The last I knew you can read it free on Amazon. Hope bought Cathy and used her for a spy and sex kitten for blackmail according to Cathy and her book. She had a photographic memory. Do you remember the entertaining the troops? Cathy was the little cutie with the sailor style bathing suit. Cathy also went through the MK Ultra program.Hollyweird isn’t what we think.

    Rodney Dangerfield would completely DESTROY Bob Hope in a head to head joke telling contest.
    In terms of stand up comedy, Bob Hope was not even worthy enough to tie the brilliant
    Rodney Dangerfields shoelaces if they both waited backstage before they are about to go on and perform one after the other.
    Bob Hope was an excellent actor, singer and dancer.
    A great entertainer in his own right.
    But he was simply the worst comic ever to walk into a TV studio.
    The troops just wanted to escape from their problems so they laughed at anything that he did just as a way of taking their minds of war.
    Like I said,
    Rodney Dangerfield would completely DESTROY Bob Hope in a head to head joke telling contest.
