In the 1960,s we did not miss the Bob Hope specials on our small black and white TV , fuzzy screen and all I remember my father having a fit when he saw Phylis Diller , he hated her kind of humor for some reason

I was 4 in 1950 & my family got their first t.v. (a '12 RCA ) in April '50, ( the very mo. & year of this program)! I can't say that I saw this show, but I was immediately "hooked" on this new medium! Many previous Vaudeville stars, e.g. Eddie Cantor, Ed Wynn, Sophie Tucker, Jimmy Durante & many more, were the first "stars' of television, but were quickly replaced by newer & younger talents! Bob Hope was 47 then, but remained " on top" for 40 more years!

From the '50s to the '70s, whenever there was a Bob Hope Special on TV, our parents would make it a memorable evening for us kids; Mom would make a special dinner, and for dessert, we'd have mom's delectable homemade cannolis, and we were even allowed to eat it all right in front of our 19' black & white Ford Philco TV! 😊 The only other time we were allowed to have dinner and dessert in front of the Ole Philco was every October when they aired the annual showing of 'The Wizzard of Oz!' Those were such fun times! ... RIP, Mom, Pop, and Brother Bob. ❤

Bob Hope was no hero. A hero would have recognized the death and destruction caused by the war and would have presses for US withdrawal thereby saving tens of thousands of lives. Instead he chose the "conservative" route and chose to encourage the hawks and therefore was complicit in tens of thousands of deaths. May he burn for his sins.

I was only born in '58 . Silent Nght was favorite Christmas song . Christmas Eve , 1914 , Deutsch troops started singing Stille Nacht. The British troops started singing Silent Night . The German troops put pieces of white cloth on bayonets , & British troops followed . They exchanged some Brit cigs for swigs of Deutsch Schnapps or Vodka . "What the hell are we fighting for ? " You can't even make this s__t up ! One lesson in decency.

John: I was inspired and influenced by bob hope when I was 9 in 2001, I kept this inspiration and influence for 22 years cause I don't want to get rid of them, cause he still lived during early 21st century, even himself turned 100. I should know I saw him turn 100 from the net when I was 11. That's why I keep them after all these years.
