- The BigHorn 550 Explorer side by side from Tractor Supply has been in use on our farm for about a year. In this video, we share the problems that we have had with the utv and why the BigHorn 550 EFI Explorer is gone. We have had a relationship with the manufacturers of the BigHorn 550 and have shared how to service the side by side, where to get service for the Tractor Supply side by side and is a tractor supply side by side worth the money. The utv is very comfortable and is packed with features. The all new unit that we had on the farm experienced some growing pains and the issues that we had led to the machine no longer being on the farm. If you plan to buy a side by side in 2024, this video should be helpful in helping you select a quality machine and a company that will stand by their machine.

Thank you for your honesty. Thank you for your research.
Absolutely. It’s a privilege. Appreciate you watching
Hey neighbor, Pastor Fred here in Rockwood TN. I really appreciate the honesty, and i am glad they still wanted you to test that beautiful machine!!!
Great to hear from you Pastor Fred! They were pretty great about it. They too wanted to be honest because as we all know, machines will break. Thanks for watching!
Being Honest in all things is the only way to live. A lot of politicians should spend time on the farm doing chores and maybe that honesty will rub off. BigHorn sounds like an honest company that deliver great value for your money. This is a much rare comodety, refreshing to find in an American manufacturer giving it to us straight.
Honesty is the key to peace. And the folks at BigHorn are good people.
I knew there was a reason I liked you . Thanks for the honesty . Can't wait to hear the updates on the new machine. I really like the power steering because my old Polaris doesn't have it 😔. Keep us posted and keep on keeping it real . And oh yeah , watch out for the red wasps 😂😂
Hey Joe. This didn’t surprise me at all. I knew after a few videos that you were a honest person. Thanks a lot for the video makes me a little bit smarter than I thought lol. Great video. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!!
Thank you sir, have a great week as well!
Your videos help he make my mind up buying 550 bighorn .pick it up Saturday an enjoyable to ride. Tks for all you do
I got one of the bighorn 400 and love it
Straight shooter, I have a 2022 left over I just got from TSC, hope my experience is as good as yours. Thanks 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks Craig! Appreciate you watching brother.
Your video helped me make my mind up about 550 bighorn.tks for all you do .
Verdict? Thanks for watching. 💪🏼
Nice update story about this machine and the initial shortcomings Joe. Hope the new model keeps going strong!
Thanks buddy. Time will tell!
I'm in a different business but prototype are just that. They are a tool to learn. Proof of concept. You should share AS things happen through.
Fair point. Live and learn. To do it over again, I would probably have shared them or pushed for the production model when it was complete. I will in the future.
I bought one Joe back in January and it has been at the mechanic since mid April. They say it is a water pump issue but are having trouble with the manufacturer getting them the parts because it is losing mechanics left and right. I think I have now made as many payments while having the machine as I have with it in the shop. Hopefully they get it fixed soon, I am tired of the run around and wondering what my next step is.
Sorry you have had a bad experience. Keep pounding on them to fix it or make them take it back.
Appreciate the full disclosure. Looking for more videos on the new machine.
Absolutely. Y'all deserve 100% transparency. Thanks for watching!
love the honesty
Only way to live brother. Y'all deserve honesty.
Perfect video! Always maintain honesty!!! Totally understand that field real world testing is a part of the R&D phase…. 👍👍
Thanks for watching Gene! I would never want to mislead anyone, will always call it straight! Appreciate you friend.
I’m super glad this story came out the way it did , 👏👏👏
Appreciate you watching my friend.
@@JoeTheFarmer absolutely and love the channel , Im so amazed at the add ons they have improved on the machine now if TRS would sell it like this I’d be over there next week 😂👍
@DuckbumSD Appreciate that man! And I’ll pass that along. 👍🏼
Hello from NB, Canada! I subscribed to your channel because I feel I can trust you. (There's so much BS on YT that trust doesn't come easy for me.) I am 54 and paralysed from the chest down, and a year away from retirement living in a rural area. So many people drive their ATVs on our village's roads. Anyway, I'm going to have a lot of time to fill and thought it would be nice to discover the beauty of nature that surrounds me. With my predicament, it would probably be best to have an ATV that is not too fast, but very capable off road in all kinds of conditions, including heavy snow. As getting max value for my dollar is so important to me, I was looking at a CFMoto Zforce 800 trail gen 2 because in Canada they come loaded with $5-7K in equipment/accessories (with a 5yr warranty) for a comparable big brand name SXS that's bare. However, even that seems to be way more power than I want or need. This Bighorn seems to be ideal, as it comes even more loaded with a heated cabin and electronics, and sips fuel with the perfect amount of power. I love its small footprint and it's a really good looking rig to my eyes. Who makes their drivetrain? Is it reliable? (Being physically disabled, reliability is paramount to me.) It looks like they sell them in Halifax, NS which is 5 hour drive, but I don't mind if I can get a quality machine at a decent price.
Hey Leon, I love your spirit. Never give up and keep enjoying the outdoors! The BigHorn is a nice machine, but it is very loud. The cab is nice, but the volume of the engine is the price you pay. The CF moto machines have an excellent reputation. I just haven’t ridden one yet. My best advice is do your research snd then test drive them. Given your circumstances they may bring one to you. Good luck my friend and keep us posted!
I knew it! Lol Nice job buddy! Keep up the good work! Cheers🚜🇺🇸🙌
Appreciate you watching buddy! Hoe you liking that cab tractor?!?!
Looking fwd to the reviews on the new 550. Curious to know if the transmission has been improved on the production model in regards to it's performance on slopes and anticipating what gear it should be in. I have a hilly property as well, so I've held off on purchasing one because of that reason. Thanks , enjoying the videos.
Thanks Joseph. The transmission was jumpy on hills before the upgraded the pre production machine. After that it was solid. The new one is good so far. Will keep y’all posted and shoot you straight!
Kinda worried now cause I bought mine about the time you made your first video. Hopefully it came out after they revamped everything .
If you bought yours at TSC or a Dealer it would be the production model. Mine was an early preproduction model. Before continuing our partnership with BigHorn I asked the folks at TSC if they have had any issues and they said very few. I am pretty confident mine was an isolated issue. Appreciate you following along.
So you give them feedback and I want that product.
Ot sure what you mean; but marketing is offering feedback and exposure.
If you get bored and want to make a video could you do one where you adjust the shocks from hard to soft for a ride comparison. I have a broken back and don’t have any to test the ride out on. Thank you
Thanks for the suggestion. I may do that!
Well I guess Harbor Freight tools get the same kind of decent reviews and ratings "for the price point" for lots of the items they offer...but the same (China) tools also gets lots of 1/5 2/5 ratings and reviews which tells me all I need to know!! Thanks for being honest and up front!
Thanks for watching Clark. Appreciate you brother
Worked out ok you have nicer machine now. Work it hard as I'm sure you will. I would just call the screen a touch screen. 😂
🤣🤣🤣. Touch screen it is!
Can you tel me if they use dex cool or other coolant
No sir; above my pay grade. The manual should be available online.
Thank you.
You indeed call it like it really is ! What’s the retail?
Thanks brother. I’ll always call it straight. No reason to hide the truth. 👍🏼. I honestly don’t know the retail. Prob $16-17k?
LED light emitting diode
LCD liquid crystal display
Thank you! I always mess it up. Will prob do it again.
@@JoeTheFarmer oh well, I'm not sure which it is brother, I'm just throwing out a definition😜👍
LED-->Lights, LCD-->Screens
THANK YOU! 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
You’re welcome! It can get confusing since now you have screens with LEDs (OLED or AMOLED) for energy savings mainly for TVs and , but in general, LED (Light Emitting Diode) is used for lighting and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) for screens.
So I think you’re safe either way! 😂
I appreciate that! You have kept me from looking foolish in future videos. Well...at least for the LED/LCD thing. Lol.
What state do you live in
Tennessee
I wish big horn folks would let me test a big horn
Start a channel, learn video and then align with brands that share your interest and values. But, I will tell you that it is MUCH easier to just buy a machine. The time and video/computer/editing equipment will easily surpass the price of a machine. It's done for the passion brother. Not money or stuff.
Just like cars, avoid the first year
Prob a good bet!
Get OFF my lawn with that dropped muzzleloader!!!
🤣🤣🤣
