Great to hear from you Pastor Fred! They were pretty great about it. They too wanted to be honest because as we all know, machines will break. Thanks for watching!
Being Honest in all things is the only way to live. A lot of politicians should spend time on the farm doing chores and maybe that honesty will rub off. BigHorn sounds like an honest company that deliver great value for your money. This is a much rare comodety, refreshing to find in an American manufacturer giving it to us straight.
Joe, the Bighorn folks may be good people but their warranty process is CRAP! I would like to know where these good people are because it sounds to me you had a direct link to discuss issues. Not knocking your channel, i think your content is great. But 4 weeks for Bighorn to communicate with a repair shop for my unit is sad and unacceptable, and they still can't figure out the problem. 👍 for you Joe. 👎 to Bighorn
@geauxmikee I have 550 bighorn utv and I have had nothing but problems, it has 78 miles on it. Now the motor has gas in the crank case, I told bighorn I want a refund, they offered me a new unit and I refused that I have lost faith in it. They don't want to refund my money so I have turned it over to my attorney to get my money back.
Hey Joe. This didn’t surprise me at all. I knew after a few videos that you were a honest person. Thanks a lot for the video makes me a little bit smarter than I thought lol. Great video. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!!
Appreciate you coming clean. Probably not a good idea to promote anything that’s pre-production unless you are transparent about the problems in real time. People are make buying decisions from these videos. Kudos for working them over to get a replacement unit. I’m in the market and considering the newer BH.
There just wasn't a reason to talk about something that would never make it to the market. That just seems to me like starting drama for drama. Any issues that I had were fixed prior to production and the unit was even taken in for diagnostics. I see your point, and if it was possible to have the same issue it would have been addressed. For what it's worth the production unit has been flawless. Its loud, but we discussed that. The power steering is really nice and it drives great. The beta unit was nice; the production unit is far more refined. Thanks for watching
I knew there was a reason I liked you . Thanks for the honesty . Can't wait to hear the updates on the new machine. I really like the power steering because my old Polaris doesn't have it 😔. Keep us posted and keep on keeping it real . And oh yeah , watch out for the red wasps 😂😂
I've enjoyed my 550 bighorn an just changed broken oil at 46 miles. Found a easiler way to change oil is to remove storage basket an can get to drain plug alot easiler. 2 screws in bottom to remove
Fair point. Live and learn. To do it over again, I would probably have shared them or pushed for the production model when it was complete. I will in the future.
Hello from NB, Canada! I subscribed to your channel because I feel I can trust you. (There's so much BS on YT that trust doesn't come easy for me.) I am 54 and paralysed from the chest down, and a year away from retirement living in a rural area. So many people drive their ATVs on our village's roads. Anyway, I'm going to have a lot of time to fill and thought it would be nice to discover the beauty of nature that surrounds me. With my predicament, it would probably be best to have an ATV that is not too fast, but very capable off road in all kinds of conditions, including heavy snow. As getting max value for my dollar is so important to me, I was looking at a CFMoto Zforce 800 trail gen 2 because in Canada they come loaded with $5-7K in equipment/accessories (with a 5yr warranty) for a comparable big brand name SXS that's bare. However, even that seems to be way more power than I want or need. This Bighorn seems to be ideal, as it comes even more loaded with a heated cabin and electronics, and sips fuel with the perfect amount of power. I love its small footprint and it's a really good looking rig to my eyes. Who makes their drivetrain? Is it reliable? (Being physically disabled, reliability is paramount to me.) It looks like they sell them in Halifax, NS which is 5 hour drive, but I don't mind if I can get a quality machine at a decent price.
Hey Leon, I love your spirit. Never give up and keep enjoying the outdoors! The BigHorn is a nice machine, but it is very loud. The cab is nice, but the volume of the engine is the price you pay. The CF moto machines have an excellent reputation. I just haven’t ridden one yet. My best advice is do your research snd then test drive them. Given your circumstances they may bring one to you. Good luck my friend and keep us posted!
Well I guess Harbor Freight tools get the same kind of decent reviews and ratings "for the price point" for lots of the items they offer...but the same (China) tools also gets lots of 1/5 2/5 ratings and reviews which tells me all I need to know!! Thanks for being honest and up front!
@@JoeTheFarmer absolutely and love the channel , Im so amazed at the add ons they have improved on the machine now if TRS would sell it like this I’d be over there next week 😂👍
That's great man. They are very nice machines. They really took a lot of care into making sure the production model was right. So far the new one has been great!
I bought one Joe back in January and it has been at the mechanic since mid April. They say it is a water pump issue but are having trouble with the manufacturer getting them the parts because it is losing mechanics left and right. I think I have now made as many payments while having the machine as I have with it in the shop. Hopefully they get it fixed soon, I am tired of the run around and wondering what my next step is.
If you get bored and want to make a video could you do one where you adjust the shocks from hard to soft for a ride comparison. I have a broken back and don’t have any to test the ride out on. Thank you
Looking fwd to the reviews on the new 550. Curious to know if the transmission has been improved on the production model in regards to it's performance on slopes and anticipating what gear it should be in. I have a hilly property as well, so I've held off on purchasing one because of that reason. Thanks , enjoying the videos.
Thanks Joseph. The transmission was jumpy on hills before the upgraded the pre production machine. After that it was solid. The new one is good so far. Will keep y’all posted and shoot you straight!
Hi Joe, thanks for a great video, I learned a lot. I am currently in the market for a UTV, mostly for hauling firewood out of the woods and pleasure riding. One of the things I have concerns with is aftermarket service of equipment if needed. Some of the YT folks mention that buying from reputable dealers is the availability to get work done on your equipment, either in-warranty or standard servicing and having that service within a reasonable driving distance. Does TS have service/maintenance facilities at their stores or do they have to outsource it to other shops? Thank you!
Hey! Thanks for watching. I service them myself but I would use the service center locator on the machines websites and see who can service it close to you. They are very reliable machines and I have had luck with all the brands; but things can happen as you know.
Not meaning to sound stupid but you stated upgrade in reference to the LCD screen and the media “kit!” So this is something they do offer?? Not standard?? Really interested in the 550! Not that either of the two above mentioned items matters to us just curious!! Thanks in advance! And thanks for your honesty!!! Can’t wait for a review on its performance!!
Thanks for watching! And yes, the replacement model has a few upgrades that the other did not. It has power steering, the media kit (speakers) and the screen. I think the screen may be standard now, but the overhead speakers are not. To be honest, the machine is too loud to really enjoy the speakers. And though the screen is neat; doesn't add much to the experience. The power steering however is VERY nice. Not a deal breaker, but the TSC model which is pretty basic was more than sufficient. Take care!
If you bought yours at TSC or a Dealer it would be the production model. Mine was an early preproduction model. Before continuing our partnership with BigHorn I asked the folks at TSC if they have had any issues and they said very few. I am pretty confident mine was an isolated issue. Appreciate you following along.
Joe I bought a 550 bighorn utv just like the one you had. It has 78 miles on it I have to change the battery wires to the starter. The spark plug went bad so I replaced it and it started up drove it down the road and it ran good. Put it in the garage and the next morning it would not start. I called bighorn directly to Bill Waylee so I'm trying to start the motor and it will not start. Well now it started and it back firing out the muffler. And the starter went bad ,so they sent me a replacement. So I talked to Dan in the warranty department and he said go check the dip stick and see if it smells like gas, I did and it dies have gas in the crank case. So zi told them I want a refund and come and get this thing. Contact me if you want I will tell you more about this.
Hey Ron; sorry that you are having issues. Hopefully the folks at Bighorn will get it fixed up for you. I haven't had any problems with the new machine. Wonder if you got a bad one...but even if so everything can be fixed. Hope it's under warranty!

They blame the dealer for not refund my money. May end up in court I will know Monday. Thank you Joe.
