Just open your shelf, throw everything you have in one huge bowl and bring it boil. Don't forget to wash your hands and feet in it while cooking. Amazing recipe!
I just got rid of my 160 quart pot! I should have let you known I was getting rid of it. Ain't nothing quite as good as a good seafood boil. Looked mighty fine Jaxx!
Awwww man I would have gladly taken it off your hands. Just know from now on I'll just take or (buy) all your hand-me-downs ( hammy downs :) hehehe cheers buddy!
Things I have never seen added to a low country boil/Frogmore stew: All 3 versions of Z's Crab Boil Seasoning (plus a bonus lemon-flavored liquid, too!), Brussels sprouts, or fresh garlic...and there isn't a thing wrong with any of that. I was about to ask where ya corn was, too. I was doing okay until you busted open that she crab and pulled the roe out. Now, I feel the need to drive all day to get to some fresh seafood. 👍
Oh man the eggs for me are just as good as the meat. Some people don't like it and I get that. You are not allowed to get crab that has the (pom pom) eggs that are the clutch. Basically, if you see the eggs leave the crab in the water. I like to put my corn in last while soaking so it doesn't get mushy, comesout perfectly cooked every time. Thanks for the comment Grumpy Grunt.
@@JaxxDrinkwater That they are. Throwing some newspaper down on the tailgate and dumping a few bushels of blue crab and the fixin's out with friends is hard to beat. Here in the heart of the Midwest, I won't eat crab or crawfish. Don't trust it. I'll tear it up if I am near a coast, though. The only thing I miss more about living on a coast is probably softshells. I'd do evil things for a softshell crab sammich or a good boil after watching this. 🤤
I lived in Maryland for 31 years. It was always illegal to catch female blue crabs when I was there. But the females are usually small and with little meat after cooking so we didn’t want them anyway. After moving to Jacksonville I had boiled crab for the first and last time. Steam big males with lots of old bay. Go O’s!
Totally diluted by those 20 gallons of water. Needed a bigger pot and actually more seasoning. Just about every crab shot their claws/legs off. Should’ve cooled them on ice… just my opinion. Not trying to troll…. just sharing my observations/experience. Thanks for posting, regardless.
I bet that was a flavor party! Zatarains and smokehouse came to the party... Oooohweeee! Looks like someone had a feast! 😀👍🏼😀👍🏼 Lotta female....roe jackpot!
I love a good seafood boil. We call ours Low country boil or Frogmore Stew around these parts. It's a pretty big deal here too. You got it loaded down with flavor. Someone showed me a while back about adding celery to it and man is it good. The celery really soaks up the flavor. You did that up right Jaxx. I want some of that Yo!
Southern Food Junkie In my boils I put onions, celery, potatoes, corn, smoked sausage, mushrooms, carrots, sweet potatoes, lemons, heads of garlic and sometimes, turkey necks. I make a mean Louisiana seafood boil.
Jaxx Drinkwater My uncle purées his onions and celery to add to his boils, but I leave mine in large pieces because I like them as sides along with the other veggies in the boil. My favorite side in my boils are the button mushrooms. I put lots of them in because they are always a hit.

I almost thought you was from Louisiana with the seasonings. We love our crawfish, shrimp, and crabs down south Lose the Brussels and throw in a cabbage but awesome job that’s how you boil seafood
The positive side to all that hot seasoning is a lot of folks will not be eating your crabs. I use crab seasoning, but the only seasoning I need to enjoy crab is salt.
Have you ever done cream can streamer over a campfire? Someone told me this is good. Said I could buy one from Bass Pro. This recipe sounds so good. Southerners know how to cook! Crab eggs yes. I learned how to tell female crabs from males. I didn't know this.
THis is going to be good! Look at all them seasonings and sauces, awesome. I am already sub'd to him. I want some of that yo! lol on the broom. No way, Conecuh, I was giving 2 packages of this to make a video with, awesome! When we buy anything at the fish market in Galveston, they give us all the ice we want. I wondered where the corn was. 20 years ago my boy and I went to Galveston to catch blue crab, I had to learn up on male, female stuff. Good video Jaxx.
Is adding crabs and shrimp together just something you do? I’m a native of southeast Louisiana and we normally just boil one type of seafood when we throw a boil, so it will be a crawfish boil or a crab boil or a shrimp boil. I’m just curious.
Just something I do. My wife is native South Louisiana (Lafourche Parish). I do multiple because she's the crab eater more than me. I prefer crawfish over crab and the guest we had that day didn't know how to eat crabs and he preferred shrimp. For just two or three people, it's easy to give everyone what they want. Now when you have 20, 30, 50 people, you eat what's spread out on the table and eat.
Jaxx Drinkwater Ah, ok. I see. Well usually when we host or go to a seafood boil it’s usually lots of people and one type of seafood. But I understand your reason. Not that I have anything against it because it would be nice sometimes to have a variety in one sitting, I’ve just never seen it before growing up in southeast Louisiana (St. Bernard Parish).
Sure looked good to me. I would not have a clue how to peel a crab. Not many up here in Canada. Lots of spice! Thank you for sharing your boil with us, Jaxx

That was an EPIC boil Jaxx... holy goodness! Not sure though which was sexier though... the crab or that 73Forge blade! There's a house for sale right next door, here in Portland, come on up neighbor!!! lol
Brings back memories of netting blue crab off the Dunedin causeway with my pal's family back in the early 80's. We'd boil them right on the beach over a campfire. The ecosystem and regulations have degraded since then unfortunately. But I appreciate the stimulus that inspired that trip down memory lane.
Please remind everyone not to eat the lungs (gills) on the crabs, it will make you sick. Once you pop the top shell off, the lungs are on the right & left sides and normally look gray after cooking. Pull them off and throw it away.
Actually, you can eat every part of a crab, including the dead man's finger, or lungs/gills. They aren't tasty, but if you've got some strange lung/gill fetish, eat on.
I'm assuming that no crabs were hurt in the making of this video... they were pre-cooked....right? 🤣 Dude... that looked AMAZING!!! And here I thought Blue Crab were only in Maryland!!! Guess I was wrong!

I would not, no.
It's preference but I love the stuff.
How long do you cook them after the water is boiling ???????
Looking awesome - i bought a small pack of crabfish boil seasoning when i visited, just have to get the rest now :)
