@@jimwalsh3726 he measured them. He caught a lot more than he kept. you dont measure them all while you take them out the trap. you collect your pots and then sort them and throw the small ones back. All the ones he cooked were the same size and quite large.
As a Maryland man who has been on the bay for years. You guys might cook em different but we can both agree that the water provides my friend. I spend a lot of time in bay St Louis I have an aunt and my uncle down there.
Just bought the New "Cajun 2 Step" Fire seasoning (in store now). It is by far the most expensive at Wal-Mart. But, let me tell you, I've tried "Slap Ya Mamma" and "Tony Chachere's". They are good but, "Cajun 2 Step" is Not loaded with salt (just flavor). It, In my humble opinion, and I've tried them all, is the best out there. FYI, it could be Hotter!
I live on the Virginia side of the chesapeake bay and I was surprised to see him just dumping the crabs out without checking the gender and size first 😂 Grilling crabs seems weird, I guess the shells are a lot easier to crack that way but boiling seems much better for flavoring them and keeping them tender

First time ever watching you and I gotta say I love it. Those crabs with oysters looked so good man. I like your style and attitude. I'll be watching more of you man.
I agree! Keep the females and spong crabs in the water. I've been crabing and on the water my whole life. I even had a commercial license for years, once i woke up all the females stayed in the water and not in a pot. I lived in Louisiana for 5 years and just got back to MD. I can say for sure crabs are more plentiful in Louisiana but the do NOT taste the same as Chesapeake Bay crabs. Oh and I did my part and got many Ragin Cajuns hooked on steamed crabs! They never went back to the boil after trying my steamed crabs. Just saying brotha! 😊
I love this channel but when he does blue crabs it’s hard to watch lmao. It’d be like someone from Montana telling a Louisiana native how to cook crawfish haha
Dude I'm in Texoma Land Oklahoma... finally seen that Cajun sauce and got some. All the Original and Fire seasoning was SOLD OUT. Bummer.... but pretty stoked for ya dude! Keep up the great work dude!
I would legit pay money for a collab. Stalekracker making some food, and Ginger Billy comes flying up on a homemade pick-up truck, leans out the window and yells "AYE BEAU, WHACHU FIXIN' OVER THERE!?!"

Md here.. Wye River, Kent Narrows are the spots. Back in the late 80s we would run two 900 ft trot lines on Wye River and catch 2 bushel before 7am of #1 Male Jimmies... Doublers w peelers and black bottoms
Was a crabbin' kid on Oyster Creek, here in Coastal Texas. You learned the males from females, and always tossed the women back: they make more crabs. Never much cared for the taste: probably sipped a bit too much creek water, as it all tastes like silt to me, but Mom liked it fine, so for her I'd go crabbing. Mostly used necks, usually chicken, though that would also garner gar. Pro-tip for gar: nail to a plank and steam, then eat the plank; gar is tricky, depending on diet and location. As for crabs, never much liked the sound they made when dropped in boiling water, and is probably why I'm not fond of shellfish, that sound.
"Nail to a plank and steam, then eat the plank" 😂That got me. I've never tasted gar, but I've also never tasted a muddy crab in my life. I live by the chesapeake bay and I would be happy to eat crab everyday for the rest of my life. Unfortunately they've been overharvested and now have to be treated like a delicacy.
Man your arm looks dangerous in the thumb for this video, dude. You look like you're ready to star in a new "Over The Top" movie. I imagine every time you'd win arm wrestling in the movie you'll flex & say "Put dat on a cracker". lol..

This is a dude I’d love to meet. Just a down to earth guy that loves his food and going outside in the wild. Awesome!
Maryland born and bred here - I'd try them like this. Never seen anyone grill a crab like that!
Living off the land, or water, with nothing but hard work; need more people like you.

Those guns dood. Lights out!
The magic of grilling crabs is the smokiness and how easy the shell cracks to get to the meat. Did that for my wife a few years back and liked it.
This man is a real chef and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty.

Grew up on crabs and never saw them prepared this way. Now I'm going to have to try it out!!!
How do the crabs get thru the tiny steel holes.
There is a small entry to get in there. Crabs crawl in past a trap'door to eat, and then no way out.
On that note, try the crab cakes to..
