This shows how important flexibility is. I remember just a few videos back you discussed with Anmol how the Axis Atlas doesn't make much sense for you. But now that the opportunity arose, you got one. This is crucial in the credit card game to always keep learning and re-evaluating your existing cards.
See at the start of video itself he clearly said he is using Amex points for the airline transfer. The whole purpose of this video was for hotel booking
That limit doesn't apply in this scenario as the points were 22.5k edge miles. But yes, should have mentioned. Are there no such limits with the magnus edge reward points? Edit , checked and found below "Group A: Includes partners such as Accor Hotels (Accor Live Limitless). The annual cap for transfers to Group A partners is 200,000 EDGE REWARD Points per customer ID. Group B: Comprises other partners with an annual cap of 800,000 EDGE REWARD Points per customer ID"
Great video. I have the magnus. Been contemplating to go for burgundy, just because i have 2lac+ points that need converting. Even with 35k fee the conversion is allot more sensible.
Firstly, many thanks to you Pranay for your knowledge sharing across many aspects. Please share how do you track the expenses across CCs and budget your spends, savings & investments.
I bought my motorcycle and paid ~5l using atlas as well, my motorcycle and a bit of my friends as well, pretty good returns as the authorised dealer did not charge any markup
If you are making a one shot payment of 4.5 lakh then for that month, any incremental spend will also attract accelerated reward points. So if one has a 4.5 lakh lump sum payment planned, then one should definitely go for magnus is eligible. And almost every year, people of your profile do have this kind of spend atleast once a year
Hey Pranay Sir! Loved the video, the comparision and congrats on the bike - I knew that already (substack privilages I guess) XD The video looked cleaner, neater and crisp(ier) than always - also - love the shirt - the color suits you! Until next time, cheers!
Does marriott hdfc card make any good sense? Can you please do a short or full video regarding the newer cards? Also amex plat is now giving 150000 points. So is it sensible?
Hey Pranay, love the comparison. I hold an HDFC Infinia and whenever I see any card reward point analysis, I feel like Infinia could match (or get close to) most cards apart from really high spend cards like magnus burgundy. Could you make a video where certain cards would be relevant for infinia holders?
I have the infinia for the last three years and I regret not taking the magnus burgundy earlier. The only advantage of the inferior is that it can be used for any ticket on the smartbuy portal.. otherwise magnus burgundy gives you 3x returns if you know how to use points on partner airlines or hotels
@@vct1 Does burgundy provide gyftr like 5x reward rates. I get a lot of points from almost every online spend. So I feel I can accumulate a lot of points through my normal online spends and I don't have to go out of my way to generate a huge credit card bill and fall into that trap. But Yeah, I just redeem them on flights and not on partners like I used to do on axis magnus (non burgundy pre-devaluation) before.
Nice clear video ! Just want to ask for MAGNUS card - Axis provide 60 RP/200 on travel edge portal - will it be accelerated rewards after spending 1.5 lac or for any booking it gives 60 RP ? Also heard about pricing of Air tickets on travel edge portal seems to be higher compare to smart buy is it so ?
It is worth checking the axis olympus (previously citi prestige) as well. It has a converstion rate of 1 miles to 4 partner points and you get 1 miles per 100rs spend with no milestone benefits. So for 7.5 lac spend you end up with 30,000 partner points. It has been my go to no-nonsense card to be used for every spending. I feel this is currently the best axis card, atleast for me personally.
My bad. Yes, Atlas is slightly higher. I did not consider the joining bonus which would be another 10,000 partner points (total 40k). Guess, Olympus is good for all spends after hitting milestones in another card. Guess I need to look at some new cards for the milestone. Thanks again for the video.

you forgot to add 1 point - if you have any travel (which you are not booking using points) - book it from the airline/hotel website direct - and get 5 miles for every 100 Rs spent (that is insane 18% return) . i travelled officially where i had to claim the booking from my org, booked it direct from Air India, Booked hotel direct from Taj, and got 5 miles for every 100 spent. Office reimbursed me the cost, i got the points - sweet !
I don't stay in a hotel much. Instead I do transfer in Maharaja Club because my flight travel is more, what is return in that case for 3 lakh and 7.5 lakh?
Hi, i am looking for a new credit card. My purpose (in priority order) is booking domestic flight tickets, international flight tickets, international hotel, grocery payments, utility payments. Please suggest. I currently have an icici sapphiro card with a very high credit limit but reward rate is really bad.

I wish to use the points in Japan airlines. But I have no idea how many points I need for a round trip for two. I don’t know how to use the Japanese Mileage website :(( Feeling stock with the points

Like Amex plat travel if I make tax payments & Govt spends I wouldn’t get base reward points but it would be considered for milestone benefit. Does this work the same with atlas & Magnus or no milestone benefit consideration for tax payments & Govt spends ??
I have been using Magnus for burgundy with monthly spends upwards of 1.5 lacs regularly. What’s your view - Would it make sense to also get the Amex travel platinum card or the Magnus for burgundy will give better returns?
Hey Pranay, I am thinking to get an Amex card. My expenses are not that much so GOLD,PLAT,MRCC might be expensive for me. should I get smart earn? will the MR points earned with that have same value as others and can I transfer them to partner hotels and airlines? currently having Apay, HDFC DCP , Fk axis and neo.
I have a smart earn just because I already have a primary card. I get around 1250 - 1500 MR by spending 7500 a month. Go for it if you don't want to pay high joining and yearly fees.
Come on Pranay spend 7.5 lakh rupee on Travel edge you will get 60 reward points for 200/- rupee up to 1,50,000/- after that 35 reward points.if you spend 7.5 lakh rupee in 3 or 4 month on travel edge then imagine around 40% return from Magnus Burgundi.I have both the cards but i used only Magnus Burgundi every where.Due to that in 1.5 years i stayed in Five star hotels around the world in Accor property approx 55 nights free of cost .

If the card is LTF, then it is not eligible for tier-based renewal benefits. If you are Gold tier, you get 2500 miles, and if you are Platinum tier, you get 5000 miles. If your spending is more than 15 lakhs, converting to LTF is a huge loss.
@@wraith_gg it isn't ltf. They just waive off the annual fee as a gesture of being a burgundy account holder. I got it done for a priority account and they will be more than happy to do it for a burgundy account Holder. Cheers
