“Suffering in silence” in an era where everyone wants attention or sympathy. He could have easily told the world but he didn’t. Says a lot about him and his inner circle of friends and family because no one said anything. People on social media were cracking jokes about him and how he looked. Let this be a lesson to humanity to not be so quick to be a comedian when it comes to people. We don’t know what they are going through.

I have two friends both colon cancer survivers and black under 40 and also both very special human beings ( as we all are) when I heard of chadwicks death from something so close to home it really shook me. It should not shock it’s extremely prevalent among black YOUNG males but rarely discussed . Chadwick saw it as personal issue which was his choice and right .
Their was something about him you did not need to be black to feel most know him from black panther but he made other epics ( ie a message from the king ) where he through his talent portrayed a really important message consistently . That message well that’s yours to find . A great loss but a spirit like his does not just fade into the abiss . Awards trophies get dusty his memory will be fresh forever .

Whatever you or her or I think is the more courageous act is irrelevant. The difference between, Imo atleast, announcing to the world you're fighting a battle and Not Announcing to the world you're fighting a battle is that the latter means you, the fighter, won't be having any emotional support to get you through with it. That may or may not take courage depending on what you want for that situation, what we can do is to stop judging an already unfortunate situation as courageous or not.

[and, btw, there were members of his family who did love him who knew, including his wife - it's the PUBLIC who he chose to not share it with.]
that was re: your comment, "He didn’t say anything to anybody because the worst thing you can do is go out in a blaze of pity. and how do you know the exact reason[s] he chose to stay quiet about it re: his public? I could be wrong but considering how private he WAS, doubt his family would share his every [shared with *them* ] thought about why..maybe only *some* of his most personal thoughts that they were aware of? now or later....and again, if a person would think - had he ever decided TO share that information publicly - why would ANYONE choose to think/see it as *"defining"* him rather than it being a medical diagnosis that was only a PART of what he experienced in his Life..albeit a devastating one, since it took his Life..but if someone judged him like that, again, it's on them, NOT on Chadwick himself.

To be honest, there’s been so much terrible news all year long, so much pain and suffering. So much noise surrounding us all the time, that when a pure soul, someone who helped so many people and gave kids someone to look up to, goes through this it makes you just shut down. I heard a guy talk about our relationships with stars, and he said ‘it’s normal to feel strongly about things like this because we invite them into our homes and into our lives. They live with us and we live with them. They are apart of us.’ - I’ve never felt more moved then by Chadwick. I'll be honest, Black Panther wasn't my favorite MCU movie in terms of story, but I admired it for the representation it brought to black culture and the impact it brought and I LOVED T'Challa's character as a whole. I was trying so hard to deny the reality that he actually died for the first few minutes when I saw the notifications go off because it sounded so fake, but then I read it and my heart sank to the floor. He looked so healthy and full of life that I never realized how much he was actually suffering. And the fact that he left so young, it's just...damn. Chadwick such an awesome guy. May he rest in peace.
Edit: Guys, cool it with the mini Civil War your having in this thread. Enormous shoes to fill. Chadwick was a huge loss, and not just for his acting ability. He had a presence about him that allowed him to reach people. But rest assured, Black Panther will be back. It may be difficult, or even impossible to live up to what Chadwick did. But the Black Panther title has been passed along in the comics. I’m pretty sure Marvel already had that in their plans at some point in the future. I just hope they find a way to pay tribute in the movie.

nah. they are actors, you never know their true selves. sometimes, i think even actors get lost in the characters they play. except for the rock, he's the same in every role he does, so, is he really a great actor, it seems more like he's just being himself and not even acting. similar to statham. of course, they are acting some, in being crazy mofos, i'm sure they are infinitely more mellow irl.

@@zzz7zzz9 thats why they never refer to themselves with their real name. Or when they talk about movies, almost every time they talk about "the character" rather than themselves doing things. you know what i mean?
every time you see an actor in an interview, its always an act. always. at least with high profile hollywood actors.
