  • Thank you for watching. This episode I thought I'd share an idea for a morning or day in Tuscany, renting a classic vintage car. This company Slow Drive is not a sponsor, I just thought this might be something many of you would enjoy, seeing as you seem to love the countryside of Tuscany and all things vintage. You can find more info here on their site:
    www.noleggioautodepoca.eu/en/...
And you can book directly the time, hour and date, if you want to check their availability online without calling them, here:

You can find my recipes and other information on moving to Italy, learning Italian or my other travels around the world here:

Which classic car was your favourite? Let me know which one and where you might like to see us explore in Tuscany or Italy for a future episode. If you’re interested in renting one of Slow Drive’s cars, I’ve put all their info and links in the video description box. They’re not a sponsor, I just thought some of you may like this idea if you’re visiting Tuscany. The original track I used on Instagram for the trailer is from the epic film Il Sorpasso, but the video got blocked with that music. The end song is called ‘Io Sono Il Vento’ performed by Nicola Arigliano. Thank you for watching. 🇮🇹♥️🛞

Being an Aussie who has driven a car, not as special as yours, through many hundreds of kilometres of Tuscany I found this video an absolute delight. The countryside is of course very beautiful and the car, oh so special. Having to set up the out of car driving shots involves a lot of work, with the drone shots being outstanding. You have definitely perfected the art of filmmaking ( I was also aTV director so I understand the effort ). Interspersing with movie clips was inspired. Please make another clip like this for those of us who have a passion for all things Toscana. You are fortunate to live there and any of those wonderful cars would be just fine ❤️🇮🇹

Oh my god! I've been following your channel for a while now and just got back from a 2-week trip to Tuscany inspired by your videos. I found out about Slow Drive from an Italian guide and rented a red 1981 Alfa Romeo for 3 days. If you shot this video between April 10 and 12, I had the car out during that time which is why it's missing from the garage in the video! I drove through San Quirico d’Orcia, Bagno Vignoni, and Montalcino and had the time of my life! Thanks for the constant inspiration on this channel!

Love the vintage sports cars. My Dad had a 1954 Austin Healy convertible. It was a past Le Man race car and only 10 were manufactured to fit the driver inside. It even had an overdrive switch and chrome wire rim wheels that had large wing nuts attaching the wheel to the hub . It had the smiley face grill and sat two with a buddy seat in the back. The windshield was split in the middle and would fold down. The body was actually alloy so it did not rust. The frame was steel. A beautiful engineered vehicle that got lots of looks when we drove by. Those were the days when cars were an enjoyment to drive. Italy countryside would be an absolute joy to drive around. I was brought up with MG, Healy, Sprite, Fiat, Triumph, XKE Jaguar sports cars and BMC Mini Cooper. We had a lot of fun when we were young. My dad tuned all of them himself. They were all in brand new condition. Dad made sure of that.

I now drive a Mini Cooper, so in your and Guido's review of all those cars, two of them were familiar. Kylie, you are so perfiectly designed that your creative endeavors make so many people happy. I rented il soprasso so I can relilve all those romantic memories of those cars. I am so grateful for all the art you offer to so many. Blessings to you and Guido.

With so much awful news and bizarre behavior in the world it is a real treat to see that there is beauty and goodness if one looks for it in the simple pleasures of life. You are a rare gem Kylie. May the rigors of life never spoil that in you. Also, Guido had good taste in the car he chose. That was the one I would have chosen too. He seems like a very sweet and kind man. I remember driving from Florence to Pisa and passing Vinci. I was so excited as I saw the museum from the car and I realised then that Leonardo da Vinci means Leonardo from Vinci, I never made the connection before! It was late and we couldn't stop, but next time we will visit Tuscany, we would certainly like to go in a classic car, what a great idea!!! Thank you again for a wonderful video, dear Kylie! And yes, actually I learned Italian, French, Serbian and Spanish watching satellite TV since I was a little child! And yes, that's what I was doing all the time, guessing and deducting...and that helped with learning!!!! 🥰

Ciao Kylie! Che belle macchine! Anch'io la Lancia per me. Molto elegante. I have been watching vintage car videos all week. What a pleasant surprise to have that theme carry through to a post from one of my favorite RUclipsrs! It's kismet I tell you. So funny to hear a hint of a UK accent in Lorenzo's English. The connections to Ireland made that all make sense. I began learning Italian from someone from Rome and I have had people say I sound Roman when speaking Italian. 🤷‍♂️😅 Who knew?
Great video. I am a big fan of Lago d'Orta up north. Such a gem and more tranquil than some of the other lake towns. I also have very much enjoyed SR222 between Siena and the Chianti region. Those roads would be a perfect place to enjoy a vintage roadster. I will have to look up Slow Drive on my next visit. Grazie mille amici ed pace. 🙏🇮🇹❤🇺🇸🚘☮

Appena trovo un fidanzato, affittiamo una e facciamo un bel giro della Toscana! :)) I wouldn't even know which one to chose, one more interesting than the other one! I had my eyes as well on the blue Fiat, really chic. And let me tell you, the editing on this one wasn't a walk in the park for sure, you must have use lots of time to put all this together, find all that vintage footage, the music, the drone ... Impressive! I am planning to watch it again :))) See you next Friday! xx

That was delightful! I loved the tour of cars at Slow Drive, the passion and automobile knowledge of the two gentlemen there. I really loved the clips from classic films, such an inspired addition! I don't usually think about how much our cars express our cultures, but they certainly do. What a lovely day's tour complete with Da Vinci, warm countryside, company, wine and cheeses! As always, beautifully presented, thank you Ms. Flavell! I rather liked most of the cars, what great designers the Italians are. I loved the Fiat you and Guido were in, but the green English car parked behind t in the shop was quite yummy also!

Stunning! I loved the 2 tone Volkswagen Beatle. Tuscany is absolutely beautiful. We did a self drive tour through Tuscany a few years ago. The driving was quite tricky as we drive on the left hand side and sit on the right hand side inside the car. Warm regards from South Africa.

I enjoyed this episode, as I do all episodes. I just bought myself a 67 MG midget. It is so much fun.

Kylie, I often just click on to see what you are so beautifully bringing to us. As a lifelong student and admirer of car design, I just had to watch. Please let the Slow Drive guys know that we will be looking them up...from Australia, when we finally get to Tuscany, I'm 61. I am so glad Vito (sorry, I think that is your husband's name) stood up for Giugiaro the Master of car design and that you chose the Fiat, the first choice just ahead of the silver Fiat, that is in my humble opinion, of course. You both always have the sprezzatura in spades. Bravo. Nice post.

Kylie dear, thank you again for bringing another stupendous video to us. The way you edit in, just the right music or movie clip is brilliant. I was 14 years old in 1958, and loved the LANCIA then, so now at this age, it's the one I would choose to drive . To me, you are already a LIVING LEGEND in the way you showcase this beautiful country, showing to us La Dolce Vita, with love, sensitivity, passion, joy, inclusiveness, and done with such integrity and natural charm. LOVE AND BLESSINGS to you and Guido from Cape Town South Africa.
