Was the first full steel helmet issued to troops in the world. Also able at the right angle to stop a .45 bullet. All modern military helmets issued in most militaries are designed off from them.
Always liked how Thrawn acquired Gree’s helmet because in Legends was a casual anthropologist that likes studying alien cultures reminiscent of Thrawn’s appreciation of alien arts and cultures. In a different life both of them probably could have hours worth of academic discussions
The phase one helmets are more accurate in rebels. In clone wars the respirator is shown to be part of the visor as a one piece visor. It wasn’t accurate to the attack of the clones but rebels made that insignificant fix which i found to be really cool.
To be fair, that was pretty much an artstyle difference. It’s also the same reason why the 2003 Clone Wars helmets are also “inaccurate”. Still a neat thought though that I’m glad someone pointed out.
I love the look of the Phase 1 helmets in this series in contrast to Clone Wars. For some reason, the Standard Phase 3 Stormtrooper helmets in Rebels looked very ugly and cartoonish, but looked much better in Clone Wars.
@@Geshiko-GuP The Imperial Star Destroyers looked goofy because of their long necks, the Storm Troopers looked goofy, the Death Troopers looked goofy (way too thin), and even Rex's armor looked weird (especially the helmet, it was just too soft). At least the Scout Troopers kind of looked cool.

Thrawn has Gree's helmet in his collection. Something tells me the nerd would have appreciated that his helmet found its way into the hands of someone able to appreciate its artistic and historical significance.
I must say, the Phase I and Phase II clone trooper helmets are well detailled and modelled in this Rebel series. If only they had did it better for their Stormtrooper helmets.
Rebels is definitely no clone wars, but it isn't that bad. I thought the show had some redeeming qualities at times. Better than star wars resistance 😬
Rebels ramps up in storytelling in the latter half. All the "filler" episodes finally build up to the actual formation of the Rebellion. The Jedi stuff is hella good too
Personally, I loved when they added Grand Admiral Thrawn. I thought he was really well done. His personality, voice acting, and look; was exceptional. Can't wait to see him in the Ahsoka show!
He did lose his original gear, but he gained a new set of Clone Commando Armor when he was assisting Rex later in The Bad Batch For some reason, he has the old Phase 1 helmet in Rebels and we don't really see him wear any armor during his time in the show (which ends up being his demise in Rebels and a foreshadow/lifesaving moment in The Bad Batch)
I get high off this shit Phase 1 helmets look so fucking gorgeous in this style, I'd love a CW show in this style with just clones (no Anakin, please no lol)
Rebels had Clone War era tech drawn more accurate than the actual 2008 The Clone Wars series. The Phase 1 helmet looks more correct. In the 2008 show, they were oddly slanted. I also remember how B1 droids seemed more accurate in Rebels than in the 2008 The Clone Wars series.
I still wish the animated series of Clone Wars made the art style based on the actual faces and designs of Star Wars, rather than the 2003 microseries. RIP dooku's face XD
Damn, this is gonna be controversial but I actually like the Rebel art style rendition of the clone troopers over the Clone Wars. But damn are their imperial stormtrooper helmets ugly, which is something that Resistance did better oddly. But then again Resistance's first order stromtroopers look ugly af.
I feel the same way. The CW rendition of the Phase 1 are certainly in line with the art style, but there's something about the dimensions of the helmet that are kinda awkward at times, such as the base looking really wide at times or the fin being super small

I always thought it was weird that in Clone Wars, the Phase 1 helmets didn't look 100% like the ones in the films but the Phase 1 helmets in Rebels look closer to the film's design, but it's switched for Stormtrooper helmets; more film-like in Clone Wars and less film-like in Rebels.

Gregor doesnt have his Commando Armor because Gregor wore it in some battle and crashed where it already got scuffed up. Then he wore it in the middle of a Big Rhydonium Explosion. It pretty much served its purpose
Agreed. Wayyy too angular and at odds with the smooth and organic designs of Kamino (ironically shown within TCW). The base was also too wide, making it look like they grafted the upper half of a phase 1 helmet onto a flying saucer. The "cheekbones" are also too small, and it looks less heroic since the TCW one is overly sharp and aggressive without any finesse.
I like how our main 3 clones in rebels ironically have non regular phase 2 clone trooper helmets to show signs of independence from the regular clone army, even Gregor has a mere phase 1 helmet instead
