There's nothing quite like smacking your target like that - part of why testing at 50 yards is easier than 100, saves on the walking back and forth!

1900 fps always seems to shoot good for me with a cast bullet .
I haven't shot any cast in my 243 for years.

Your right. There aren’t that many .243/6mm moods available.

Same with 6.5 molds, honestly considering trying to draw some ul and get lee to make them

      @
I wish Lee would make a 6 mm. I have a RCBS in 6.5mm but it was definitely more expensive than Lee molds, that usually work good enough for me.

You got to be happy with that.. Did you find the brass lengthened ?

what alloy are you casting with?

  • @cw2a

    1800 is my target velocity.
Its where generally I can get best accuracy. As long as I achieve 1700 and accuracy I stop and am happy. It it gets up 2000 with accuracy fine but generally I dont like
    More.

Yep found 1800 in general is a pretty good node when it comes to cast, why ? No clue but seems about anything I get there generally shoots well. Buuuut iv le been known to push past 2500fps too 😎😁

@ Yea I have tried too. Never once found them as accurate.

@@cw2a I found a nice accuracy node with my 300 black out with a 135 gr cast bullet at 2100 fps . It's my best shooting cast bullet load . I'll do .8 groups at 100 in my 16 inch AR .
I can't ask for much more than that from a cast bullet .

After fireing the necks may thin and lengthen . Sort your brass by headstamp . All brass is not created equal. Cheers from 🇦🇺.
