The green bar is PMDG setting up the aircraft in FSX, don't touch anything when this happening. You can set startup modes i.e. cld & drk in the add ons menu bar at the top of the screen.
Because I hadn't flown this plane a lot, but you are absolutely right, it makes way more sense to do that.

You can input your flight plan much easier. All you have to do i type in first waypoint and then airways only, FMC will add all intersection for you. It takes less time and you know that your route is up to date if you have current airac installed. Other thing. You should set V2 at MCP, why? It is at which speed, following an engine failure at V1, the aircraft must be capable of climbing and retracting the gear.
open your task bar that appears at the top of fsx when in flight ( the bar that lets you make failures and things) and go to add ons i think....then it should say pmdg and then pmdg settings... its somewhere in that area to set to cold and dark
This tutorial is so helpful. I think a pair of geese can fly this plane. Just like Geico when they used to say, it was so easy that even a caveman can do it.
I guess that for the Md11 boeing kept the MacDonnel Douglas cockpit configuration, because it's not at all like the other boeings. The 757 and 767 have almost the same cockpits, and 737s and 747s cockpits have really similar system. But I agree Airbus has made it a more lot simpler for their pilots!
Try using the md11 fuel and weights page before flight. You see, I have 747 but it does the same auto enter...unless you use the official md11 fuel/weight slider.

Wow, I am actually going to use this. I got the pMD gmd11 for FSX and it is confusing. The PMDG 747 and LDS 767 are clean are clear to understand but the md11 is not.

Well there totally different systems. The Md11 is more like an airbus. But you'll soon get used to it, it's a lot simpler and automatised than boeing. Most systems turn on automatically and all in all there is not so much to do.
THanks a lot . now i know how to do most of the things u just talked about in the tutorials , i just have a small problem , i noticed when u enter the flaps degree for the take off (22) the fmc automatically puts the stabalizer degrees which was 5.4 . that doesnt happen in my fmc and it says check/confirm vspds ! what should i do for this one ?
You can load a flight cold and dark from the saved flights. Otherwise you can turn all the systems off yourself, watch the last part of the tutorial to see how to do that.

Click on the aux pump on the throttles, and then move the white and black wheel on the left part. use the mouse scroller to move it :)

@mamn15 Well you need to have your flight plan ready. The enter the waypoints, then the airways, and the SID and STAR.

@adrianskolka Thanks, I also found out that to move the stabilizer you could just hold in num 1 or num 7 with default settings :D

I think there's a way to load from your saved flights a cold and dark configuration.
How do you adjust the stabilizer settings?
@mamn15 I'm guessing you didn't watch the tutorial. There's no LNAV or VNAV, just NAV (kind of like LNAV) and PROF(profile, kind of like VNAV)

You made flying this plane so easy.

why did you enter 340 for crusing altitude? what these 3 numbers means exactly? thx

You need to configure a key for that.
I load a default plane and just turn everything off then load a high end plane and that typicaly will work

Why dont you just enter all the airways in one, just continue on via (airway) again and to fix and via (airway) and so on....

@nick7728 haha, that's because you downloaded it, and when you update it and it detects that it isn't valid they fuck up your FSX folder root
