Yes it comes with all the manuals and a tutorial. FS is great to learn how to fly, and after a while you understand that most planes work alike. Good luck with your career ;)
Both of them are great aircraft, very detailed models and VCs. The only problem with the cs757 is that the autopilot doesn't make very stable turns, it's pretty wobbly actually, but otherwise, the plane is perfect. The Md11 only has very minor flaw I haven't even noticed. Finally, one in three times more expensive than the other one, so the price factor counts a lot, I guess. And of course, it also depends on which aircraft you like most!
For the altitude you have to choose your descent or climb rate in order for the altitude to change. For the heading you need to right click onthe knob to turn on the autoheading.
hey man. I'm not trying to put you down or make fun. I am simply trying to help you experience a more realistic flow/procedure. I'm a real life CRJ-200 700 captain. For example, you are turning your gen buses on when your engines are off....you don't do that. Also you are opening your eng bleed valves when your engines are off...that's another no no. You know where all the switches are so do a quick search of a real 757 checklist and you'll be much happier running real checklists. Cheers man.
I love CaptainSim planes, the 727 is the best. The only thing that is frustrating is that you have to do the job of 3 people by yourself, which isn't so bad on startup, but on approach...that is a different story.
Hi @marko071988 I just wanted to say that for your being from France your English is very close to impeccable(Not sure if this would be considered insulting considering our cultural relations at times but you sound like you are just a normal American.). Also, your tutorials rock, I am starting the PMDG MD-11 tutorial as I type. Keep posting vids please!
fantastic tutorial!! It's been upwards of a year since I was last on FSX and I needed a nice refresher. My only question is how did you get the soundset I hear on final with autopilot disconnecting and the bell signaling you were approaching your altitude? You seem to have a different sound set than my Captain Sim B757. Thanks!
@marko071988 Aren't you suppose to put the IRS selectors to NAV first? I believe the ALIGN function is used after the main 10 min NAV align. It's basically a 30 sec quick align to make sure everything is correct. At least that's how it is on the 747.
@aircraftinformation assuming you are going to use vatsim or a pro network, your flight plan has to be spot on, I use FSCommander i simply hit the departure arrival and i hit i altitude airways and because my FSC has cycle 1201 its accurate then i hit save and load it in fsx flightplanner. you way is alot harder you will have to know your route [PLAIN4 MCK J44 LNK J60 IOW GIJ CRL J584 SLT FQM1.] then make waypoints under (find route) edit the waypoints to match the lat and long of your VORs
I'm setting the altitude according to the pressure. Standard in 2992, but it changes with the weather. That way you are sure to get correct altitude readings.
@AUPilotAU You need to get the latest version of the product on captain sim's website. You also need the most thorough package (block F) I believe to get all the systems and sounds to work properly.
@Stefan0n9 Thanks for the tips :). I'm obviously not a 757 pilot either. I know there are many flaws in my tutorials. My goal isn't to make them perfect, but to help other enthusiasts get the most out of these wonderful add-ons! So you're planning on becoming a pilot? Private or commercial?
@siggdude at the top of fs9 on the bar with flights, aircraft, etc there should be a captain sim button, click that then 757 captain, the ground power supply. Thats all there is to it!
Hey very nice video. I thank you very much for this tutorial. But I have a question. Where did you get the flightplane and where do you know what and where do you must write in the CDU?
@RZ3296 The way I have have always done it is to start up with a stock aircraft and shut it donw to the cold dark status, then load the aircraft you want and it will be in the cold dark status. Hope this helps.
Hey, thanks for this tutorial... But I've got a question, how do you get the CS757 to start in the "Cold and Dark" configuration, unlike the one which already has everything loaded for you, therefore making to it difficult for me to properly make a flight. Thanks, and I would really appreciate if you tell me how.
@aircraftinformation you have to buy the most accurate AIRAC Cycle from navigraph. the Cycles change frequently meaning the routes and database changes frequently. Its unfair that you have to buy it but it is a sacrifice for realism. current Cycle 1201
@MrDan9744 Make sure that you have your MCP altitude set to your first waypoint on your legs page. After liftoff at...oh around 1,000ft engage LNAV, RNAV, and Autopilot #1. Before this your Autothrottle, and Flight Director should be on.
This is my problem trying to remember it all! It comes with practice i suppose, after a few more flights i will pretty much remember al of the main processes.. Just keep doing flights and the more it sinks in. Thats my advice anyway..
hi. for some reason i followed all of your steps (that were very helpful) but my autopilot just didnt turn on. Like the only thing that worked was speed. I couldnt "arm" VNAV or LNAV, or any other switch. The green box that shows up on the PFD when they are on flicker (for each one pressed) and then disappear. Any suggestions? btw nice vid/series though
how did you figure everything out? and did you use the FMC for the flight plan or did you make a flight plan also with the DEFAULT MSFS flight planner?
can I ask you something; At 757 only in the CDU you can put to destination and landings; The gps on the map at 747 and 737 do not have the 757; or I can land it with the Radio stack;
i looked at your video and thats alottt of stuff you have to do for SIDS and STARS! wow but see you have FS9 and i have FSX so i dont know if the files are different for ZFW and stuff...???
Do you mean you have no sound at all? How much did you pay for the base pack? I paid around 14€, and an extra 10 for the pro pack, much cheaper than other add ons considering the quality of the aircraft.
You know what? All of us who fly and play Flight Simulator X benefits us. If we're ever in a real life emergency which requires someone to assist the pilot. We can qualify! ;)
What model do you have. I have the Base model. I bought the base model a long time ago for FSX. I am confused. I can't buy the sound pack. Should I just go ahead and buy the pro pack? Is that with sound and a working fmc?
I have a quick question, i am not sure what they are called but the two screens on the left of the plane (you can see them at 3:15 ), one shows the horizon nd the other the heading display. Here is my question.... on my CS 757 those screens do not look like that. They are very basic and dont show the gorizon but they are on. I was wondering if there are any switches that change the way it looks? If you want to check out my problem look at my video Delta 757-200 Takeoff KJFK Captain Sim.
Actually I don't know for the sound. I had bought the base pack, but the FMC was causing my computer to CTD, and I had no GPWS, so I ended up buying the pro pack. Didn't notice any change is the sound.
My external power button on the overhead panel doesn't work. I can't press on it. Do you think its a bug? Or where can i download the aircraft with all buttons/switches fonctionals? Its important for me. I love this plane. Can you give me a help please Marko? (peter fs9).
I have some questions... Why your seat belts and smoking have sounds? In my airplane only sounds the cliick! Why or how do you have more options in your control panel? Like a arrows in all directions with letters? I have capsim 757-200 base pack fsx!
@Stefan0n9 Yeah I know what the PPL is as I'm taking it too. I started in France, did all my dual and solo hours, but moved to the states before I could take the test. Now I'm flying in the US. My instructor has all his ratings but can't find a job at an airline, the job market for pilots sucks indeed! Good luck with your career :)
Don't want to burn you down to the ground, it's not a bad tut but you sure did make some mistakes. Ie with the lights. Once the aircraft has elec. power you should ALWAYS turn on the position lights. Also, 9/10 times you start the APU 10 to 5 mins before your standard time of departure. Starting it right after power-up is a waste of fuel if you have a gpu (ground power unit) available to you. Just a few tips ;-) Nope, I'm not a real pilot, still working on that!
It would be really great if someone did one of these tutorials and actually talked through the logic of *why* they are doing each thing. "set the IRS to align" ok..but WHY? what does that mean?
@marko071988 only with the CDU can activate destination and landing at the aircraft 757? i mean like at boeing 747 and 737 i can activate destination with the gps..and for landing activate the approach with radio stack frequerency ILS.. Can i these to do and in 757?
how do i input the current position into the IRS? everytime i start a flight i'm not able to do anything productive because of the dang IRS. Please help!!
sometimes i have to use a direct route because the LEGS get srcrewed up for example the plane keeps swaying side to side so i have to do like KJFK to KLAX because the LEGS get messed up is that ok?
Once the aircraft is powered you turn on the Position Light. No matter if its day or night. Great Tutorial 5*!
the 757 is a great plane i like the way the cockpit has been set out
Yes it comes with all the manuals and a tutorial. FS is great to learn how to fly, and after a while you understand that most planes work alike. Good luck with your career ;)

And of course, it also depends on which aircraft you like most!
Yeah, PMDG does make great planes, and the 757 is a fantastic one. Both together would be great indeed!
Thanks for the kind comment. To use the FMC you have to buy the pro pack off captain sim s site.
For the altitude you have to choose your descent or climb rate in order for the altitude to change. For the heading you need to right click onthe knob to turn on the autoheading.
Thanks for the additional info. I didn't do the security checks because it's useless for fs and I don't think that's what people are looking for.
@mamn15 The TCAS is on the radion panel I think, and the radar is on the EFIS,press on the on button.

It heats the windshield and prevents it from freezing and gives it more elasticity and can prevent bird strikes.
All due respect to someone who learns the sim to this extent .
I love CaptainSim planes, the 727 is the best. The only thing that is frustrating is that you have to do the job of 3 people by yourself, which isn't so bad on startup, but on approach...that is a different story.

@flightsimmer1234 You need to do the shutdown checklist at the end of the tutorial. For the FMC you need to have the latest version of the plane.
@JGthenumberone Do the shutdown procedures for cold and dark. You get the ZFW in aircraft, weight and balance.
@AUPilotAU You need to get the latest version of the product on captain sim's website. You also need the most thorough package (block F) I believe to get all the systems and sounds to work properly.
I think it has to do with forgetting something. Look for any yellow text on the cockpit and find where you are missing it.
Private or commercial?
thanks for the CDU tutorial! that was a HUGEE help for me!
@siggdude at the top of fs9 on the bar with flights, aircraft, etc there should be a captain sim button, click that then 757 captain, the ground power supply. Thats all there is to it!
You need to go in the toolbar, in the captainsim directory and turn on the grounr power.
I think it's normally around 7mins, Here I think you can change this time in CaptainSim options. Yeah I've floxn a bit, on small planes of course.
Hey very nice video. I thank you very much for this tutorial. But I have a question. Where did you get the flightplane and where do you know what and where do you must write in the CDU?
THANK YOU, NOW I KNOW WHAT THAT "VIA" THING IN THE FMC ROUTE PAGE THING IS FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just learned from the manuals provided with the plane. Google captainsim, you can get the plane from their website.
@AFGA145 you need to go in the captaiin sim menu in the upper bar and then go on external power.
in all aircraft you are supose to have the position lights on whne the APU is running any time of the day ;)
Fantastic video, as always :)
awesome man. Perfect tutorial i like it.
@RZ3296 The way I have have always done it is to start up with a stock aircraft and shut it donw to the cold dark status, then load the aircraft you want and it will be in the cold dark status. Hope this helps.
can you please do a tutorial on just the fmc and how you got all your information because im really confused on that.
Helpful video!
Is it normal that entering a STAR in the FMC deletes my route?
@Aviation4FSX We never see those displays in your vid... Did you align the IRS systems?
Did you download the last version of the plane? The previous one used to have that problem sometimes.
I guess it would be PMDG, but both are really great!!
@aircraftinformation you have to buy the most accurate AIRAC Cycle from navigraph. the Cycles change frequently meaning the routes and database changes frequently. Its unfair that you have to buy it but it is a sacrifice for realism. current Cycle 1201

@43kingtiger try installing the latest service pack for FSX.
nice!
What AIRAC does CaptainSim uses for the 757?
Very good video. Can you tell me please how can I make that the esterior power be able? thanks
Excellent Video, thanks....
Do the shutdown procedures.
This is my problem trying to remember it all!
It comes with practice i suppose, after a few more flights i will pretty much remember al of the main processes..
Just keep doing flights and the more it sinks in. Thats my advice anyway..
I never had that problem. Do you have the latest version of the product?
You're welcome. If it still doesn't work, check Captainsim's FAQ or contact their customer support.
where do you get the info for like the Zero Fuel Weight, Reserves, Cost Index, SIDS (which i may not use) and Transition point to put on the CDU?
hi. for some reason i followed all of your steps (that were very helpful) but my autopilot just didnt turn on. Like the only thing that worked was speed. Thanks! But I'm having trouble uploading part 3 and 4...
Captain sim should have thos mode where all things are just ready to go like PMDG instead of Manuel stuff
can I ask you something; At 757 only in the CDU you can put to destination and landings; The gps on the map at 747 and 737 do not have the 757; or I can land it with the Radio stack;

@flightsimmer1234 You should be able to reinstall without any problem, but you can always try downloading the plane again from captainsim's website.
hey marco071988 where did you get the fmc information the departure thing and arrival thing (plain4) and the waypoints things?
How do you get the instrument panels on? I turn on all the batteries on and no instruments.
I'll try but I'm not sure I'll have time before several weeks...
I have a quick question, i am not sure what they are called but the two screens on the left of the plane (you can see them at 3:15 ), one shows the horizon nd the other the heading display. Well, my base pack doesn't have the addon sound. I think I might buy the Pro Pack. I got ripped off for the Base Pack.

hey marko,
is there a setting where u can set cold and dark setup once u load fsx or fs9?
how did you get to the dark and cold state? where everything is off?
Where do you get that message? On the FMC?
@balbrig06 Yes, you need to go on captain sim''s website and download the latest version of the software.
Don't think so, what I do it turn all the systems of manually by folloing the shutdown procedures.
I do all the things you do on the video, but when I open de FMC, y only get like green boxes, no letters. Can you please help me?
hey, just wondering how do start with a cold and dark panel on the CS 757? thanks :)
where do you find the way points that you were typing in
When you install FSX would it also install service pack 1 and 2?
Do you mean in the 2D panel?
how do i input the current position into the IRS? everytime i start a flight i'm not able to do anything productive because of the dang IRS. Please help!!
Do you have the latest version of the software?
sometimes i have to use a direct route because the LEGS get srcrewed up for example the plane keeps swaying side to side so i have to do like KJFK to KLAX because the LEGS get messed up is that ok?
Turn of all the systems by following the shut down procedures.
how do u start with the plane in cold and dark. oh and how do you figure out the zero fuel weight?
Oh yes I all ready found it. Thank you AmericanFrenchM.
Whenever I set the 757 to LNAV, the plane just keeps rolling left and right. How can I fix this?
how do you set it to cold & dark? ...nic vid
where do you get this flight plane?
I have this 757, but i see you have 3 rows of buttons in the bottom left side of the screen but i have only 2 y is that?
