Seeing this makes me realize how much nev got better at hosting and asking the right kinds of question. In this first season things are very awkward and silent like whereas the following seasons are much more productive.

Honestly I think she was gay. I’ll tell you why. She got mad because a girl sent her “inappropriate messages.” Seems to me like shes hiding behind a mask of aggression because she lowkey liked it and probably doesn’t want to admit or accept she is gay. Which leads me to believe she’s scared to admit to/being outed because she’s on national television and her family probably wouldn’t approve. Idk...just a theory but there was a lot of telling points in her story and she gave me strong lesbian vibes.

Nev is definitely too nice to catfishers and virtually enables/validates their justifications.. I'm always relieved when Max steps in. These people have to get it in their heads that it is NOT okay, regardless of what has been done to them, and face the consequences. (Speaking as the target of a catfish from my teen years.)
if both act like that the catfish will walk away or not talk to them which is the whole point. so they have to do the good cop bad cop routine. think of it as nev not being nice or enabling to the catfish but hes luring them into a false sense of security aka catfishing them to get the answers he needs. lol

I remember watching Sunny and "Jamison" years ago.
My feelings about Sunny are the exact same now as they were then. She started off likeable, but throughout the episode she swayed me the wrong way.
When "Jamison" is revealed to be Chelsea, Sunny handled that completely wrong. Chelsea had clearly been through some shit, which isn't excusing her actions. I especially hold disdain for any Catfish who tries to claim someone is dead like Chelsea did.
However Sunny goes on about how if the cameras weren't there she'd beat her up and how Chelsea belongs in a mental hospital, which is where I lost interest in the episode completely.
Like come on, you expect us to be sympathetic to you after damaging your relationship with your sister to meet "Jamison" ? You tried to make yourself sound tough because you got fooled on national TV.
Basically went from likeable naive girl, to a straight up bitch by the end of the episode. Almost glad she didn't get her happy ending.
