It doesn't work atm Ricky. Ive been online for 14 years and youtube since 2007 all as a gardening creator. the HCU killed any traffic from Google and I have a ton of EAT for gardening. Im a registered business. Im an author, Im on all the platforms and nearly half a million RUclips subs.I'm constantly in articles as an expert and yet I had 7,000 views from Google last month just as well I no longer rely on them

Do you no longer make money from RUclips or from your products as a result of your half million subscribers?
What I’m encouraging isn’t reliance on Google. Being a real business isn’t just about appeasing Google. It’s about being a real business which usually means marketing in more than 1 way.
You should still have a website. It should still have some content. But we can’t just rely on blog posts to drive organic traffic from Google. That’s exactly what I’ve been saying!

@GregoryKristan this comment shows that you’re looking at this with blinders on. HCU has nothing to do with what I’m talking about here, because I’m not talking about blogging. I’m talking about building a business where blog content is one piece of the framework.
I know things have changed. I don’t live under a rock. I see this more than almost anyone. It’s literally what I do full time.
If you listen to what I say with the extremely limited perspective of “blogging” then you’re missing the message.
HCU and subsequent Google changes really suck! They changed everything.
I’m changing too. I’m pointing people to something better. But some can’t see it because they look at everything I say as if I can only talk about blogging and SEO.

@@IncomeSchool Ricky, I get the frustration about what is going on with Project 24. I get emails from your side about the discounts and stuff. Just look at Jim's website project for why your message does not work. He (Jim) literally lives his brand, and his site took a massive beating. Does he have social and other networks driving traffic, probably. However, telling people to live their brand or whatever doesn't cut it.

@@GregoryKristan you’re taking the message from one video and talking like it’s the only advice I’m giving.
I’m currently, actively building a new site with social media. I’ve been working on it for a while. I’m showing what I’m doing as I do it.
I just don’t understand the criticism here. And the Jim comparison doesn’t make sense. If I’m missing something I’d love to know. It looks to me like some people are missing the point of what I’m saying.
Living your niche isn’t about Google. Yes, it is a mandatory part of getting your business to show up on Google, but don’t count on that.
If you live your niche you can create better content, like I talked about in this video. If you live your niche you can identify monetization opportunities that lazy marketers will miss. If you live your niche you can be real. If you don’t, you’re a poser and posers aren’t going to succeed at content creation.

Run ads then. Dial in on social (with a legit strategy) and run ads on Google/social media. The ROI for ads for tour companies is incredible, I've just done it for a tour operator in Nairobi with the same problem as you. Also, just looking at your site, your homepage mentions "tour" once and there is no content on the homepage. It's like 300 words. Your H1 heading is "home". You have H2 headings that are "Read more". Your blog link is /blog-2. There are a quite a few problems that need to be addressed before you even worry about content.

    Hi Ricky,
I have very mixed feelings about your video. On one hand, yes, of course, running a blog as a business project, participating in social media, forums, etc., seems like the right thing to do. BUT it still doesn't guarantee that Google will care about all these attempts to establish oneself as an expert. There are many examples on the internet of how Google has practically destroyed small businesses that followed exactly the advice you are giving!
Moreover, this supposedly motivational monologue actually contradicts your original system. I have been following you since 2018, and I can confidently say that my articles are some of the most informative and useful in my field, as many readers have repeatedly told me. Nevertheless, since March, a huge number of my top-ranked articles on Google have been replaced by Reddit, Quora, and other irrelevant content.
Therefore, I have serious concerns that if Google's policies don't change, all these additional efforts will just be a waste of time and energy. Unfortunately.

i'd be interested to know some of the examples of google destroying small-business content creators. this whole make-money-from-blogging enterprise feels like one big guessing game with random google updates crashing traffic and shifting the goalposts.

It's not going to change. Reddit is now owned by Google, so of course Reddit is the top of the search. They've struck gold: don't show any good content, and everyone who needs the traffic will now pay to be at the top of search. Why would they change this when it's just going to print money for them?

    • @IncomeSchool
      @IncomeSchool  Месяц назад +5

If I wasn’t changing from our system from 2018 then I wouldn’t be doing anyone any good. Adaptation is how businesses survive and thrive. Do only what we taught in 2018 and it probably won’t get you very far.

Good information Ricky! One question regarding registering a business. I'm a solopreneur that likes to be in the background. I don't mind showing myself every now and then, but I don't want to be in the picture all the time. How does opening a business (which is discussed at 8:38) solve that? If you operate as a business, how can you do this without being in the picture? I just try to understand what you said there. Thanks!

    • @IncomeSchool
      @IncomeSchool  28 дней назад

It’s not just about registering a business. That’s one small step toward showing legitimacy.
It’s about building a brand. That can be a personal brand, or that can be a company brand. Either way, you need to create something special enough that people recognize it when they see it again.
If people in your industry talk about your brand and actively seek out your brand for information and solutions, then you’ll get repeat traffic no matter what Google or any other platform tries to do to you.

@@IncomeSchool I was a project 24 member, so I know there is RUclips and Pinterest. I was successful until the HCU, so I’m living first hand experience with the new reality. There are countless websites where somebody had a degree in their field, had first hand experience in their topic, and was published online with interviews and got absolutely decimated even with a strong social and Pinterest following.
Instead of talking about Google and websites, you should be helping others find new avenues of traffic. Maybe talk about Bing, how to grow referral traffic, how to create engaging emails, how to get interviews, etc.
Just talking about how you drove somewhere an hour away to show your experience doesn’t help with Google

    • @IncomeSchool

I’m not talking about Google. Google is like 1% of the point here.
If you’re not actually living your niche then you can’t feasible do almost anything that you’ll need to do to be successful.
Yes, this step is now necessary to gain Google’s trust. But this alone won’t guarantee you’ll gain Google’s trust. Guess what, I don’t care about Google. That’s not the point.
Not every video is going to be a tutorial. Some need to be about concepts. This is one of those. But if you watch it from the standpoint of just ranking on Google, then you miss the point of the video and of what I’m doing on this channel in general.

Thanks for this Ricky and I totally agree!
First-hand experience is what everyone should be doing to create authority, build a brand and be recognised as such in Google's eyes. On the other hand, I have a relatively successful RUclips channel, all the socials that I'm consistently interlinking between platforms and my email subscribers, but still got my website downgraded and nothing making sense anymore.
So I'm always asking myself, how much "of me" needs to be out there to prove it in googles eyes. :) and there is obviously something else I did wrong and can't work out my next moves!
Probably just a rant than asking an actually question, but If you have any insights on where I should go from here, that would be great

Do you know what’s in Project 24?
Blogging on its own with only passive income streams is a long shot. That’s true. But that’s not what we’ve been teaching for at least 4 years. Honestly it’s not what we’ve been encouraging for more like 8.
Active members in Project 24 are renewing their memberships because they know its value. Why would I stop selling something that actually helps people?
Plus, we offer a money back guarantee so if someone joins and decides it’s not for them, they get 100% of their money back.
So… why would I stop? Doing so would be a huge disservice to the members who benefit from the instruction, community, masterminds, podcasts, and other resources we’re actively providing and updating.
Thanks for the question. I hope that clears it up.
