Very nice video. I've got a question, suppose you have a multi surface class A skin, which should be bent/turned into a coaming for a door or a window. How would you do that coaming, with the minimum number of control points? Would your technique work with Rhino3D as well for the coaming/door-sill etc? Thanks a lot.

      Thanks for the question.
Yes, this 'Balanced' method will work in any NURBS system. The only differences between CAD systems are the tool names and how the basically operate. An extrude is an extrude like NURBS are NURBS. The basic method is always the same. I know a couple of guys that make beautiful surfaces in Rhino. They work in various studios actually.
For a coaming... It is hard to say. There may be 2 or 3 different ways. One is a swept section help to a vector direction another is how I do it here and another is framing the shape with 3D curves. Really need to see your opening and how the surfaces flow.

Thanks a lot for your response. I'll make a short video to explain what I mean, but its not too difficult to understand the issue. I find that the moment you cut a high end surface trimmed with a curve, the number of points on the split increase exponentially, now if you use that edge to make anything, it causes a significant point bloat. Simplifying that does not help since the edge opens up causing other issues. These excessive points slow down the system and later on give artifacts that do not represent the surface one started to create to begin with.

      Please do.
I talk about subsequent operations being more complex than the initial operation. Nature of the game. There are ways to mitigate that to a certain extent.
