I am so glad to hear that someone won't live the next 40 years of their life just thinking they are 'weird', or 'lazy' ... you will still struggle, but you are armed with knowledge! Good for you :) I got diagnosed at 51.

@@nikkynft4694thanks for the support man, I'm taking it in steps. At first I found it so difficult just to be 'normal' (by that I mean like my friends and people around me that don't have ADHD) but I'm working on it, and getting used to it and forgetting about my diagnosis is my next goal. It's taken a lot of time to even get to where I am right now, but I'm trying my best!

@@nikkynft4694 Thanks man, I'm trying my best. It's taken a long time to get to the mindset I have with my ADHD, and it hasn't been an easy journey, mostly because of the people I'm surrounded by not understanding the differences between me and them. I've been working on myself and trying to figure out how to feel 'normal' (by this I mean the same as the people that are around me) but I know it isn't right to try and fit in when I can't. I guess it'll just take some time for me to get used to it, so I can forget about it and just be me around others and not have any hindrances. Thanks for the motivation though!

    A really good saying I once heard/read:
Imagine everybody has to carry 100 marbles. Everyone got a backpack to put them in but people with ADHD don’t. So while everyone else can do the things they’re said to, people with ADHD trying as hard as they can to carry them marbles. Once they’re diagnosed and getting treated for the ADHD they get a backpack too, but it’s old and full of holes which means that everything still takes longer.

Healthy Gamer (DrK) made an analogy like that once, but with shells instead of marbles. That mind shift is so helpful. (The backpack can also be journaling, sunshine, exercise, etc, not just meds)

This is so true. A normal job made me feel I wasn't accomplishing anything. I'm really creative and have to make and design. So I decided to be a jewellery designer full time and in my spare time I love DIY. Working from home I can choose what I want to do with my day. Whatever makes me happiest. I now supply over 20 stores with my jewellery
    I'm still undiagnosed.

Untreated and undiagnosed ADHD + child trauma has ruined my life. Now I'm in a state where I'm barely able to leave my room/apartment, I'm broke, I can't even get myself to the doctor/psychiatrist to get a diagnosis.
Every day is the day I'm thinking about ending it all, because my dream has always been to help others and give things away, but I can't even help myself, and have nothing to give away.
Please don't do what I did, and get yourself to a psychiatrist ASAP if you think something is wrong with you, even if the symptoms are minor.

Just think through why do you do this job, what it gives etc every minor detail. It's funny when I went to health check up and they ask work hazards... I'm like none. You do work on PC, right? yes? So you have screentime hazard, eyesores.... dealing with customers, plague hazard etc. The problem is figuring out the minor details, for example I like to assist people with PC fixing, but don't understand why sometimes I'm like, yup let me take a look at it and other times nah, not this time. Just recently 1h before closing some dude came in was like PC didn't read the new SSD meanwhile I start the machine it bootlooped instead and I was like well shit :/ Whole ordeal took an hour, hopefully the pc stayed working. WTF was wrong with me, we're basically closed and I was like let me see that shit didn't even ask what he specifically wants and I didn't even ask for money, just fixed it and hoped he didn't steal anything from store.
Time insentive? 1h to fix, perhaps.
