I’ve thought about doing this to my 96 Silverado. But just wasn’t sure. It’s been primer gray for 4 years now. I think your videos have made my mind up. Great job.
People wait to long after the paint starts fading and cracking , resulting with rust. Paint of any type protects the car from rust. Did a good job on that truck. 2👍's up.
I did the same prep and the paint job came out great. I used the kit from Amazon. I bought the tintable kit and tinted it the same color as the original. I regret not adding some kind of clear coat. The Raptor bed liner only lasted a couple of years in the Florida sun before starting to peel. I taped before I sanded though, so I didn't sand stuff near where I was painting. Looked good for a couple of years, lots of compliments. Didn't really last though.
this video cracks me up bro. u give NO FUKS lol. this is the most down to earth no bullshyt straight up DIY at home without tools and anything special video i have ever seen lol. "im too lazy to go get 180 grit, so im gonna use 80" lmfao. bruh. u r hilarious. i love it. but it DOES look good and u did it all with a spray can exactly how some backyard idiot would do theirs and thats why i love this video. its literally what anyone else would do so this is a 100 percent accurate video lol
@@Steeles i sort of agree. i did my mirrors and hood with it. the textures is definitely not as aggressive as the kit and i feel like for me personally i want aggressive. but yes yours came out pretty dang awesome. mines already peeling cause i was just messing around and i never sanded i just painted over clear coat so thats a confirmation that this doesnt work unless you sand it lol....i mean it did last almost a year though lol
Well dude. You’ve done a fantastic job. I agree with you it looks great.😮don’t take Any notice of the criticism. I think you really did a superb job there. I’m going to be doing my old motor home cab with it really soon. And if mine turns out as good I’ll be happy 😃 have a great day buddy. Oh btw I’m from England North Yorkshire. And yep you got me I’m a subscriber 👍the video was great too. 😁take care ⭐️
Those kits are amazing. You can adjust the pressure to get different textures. Also a DA sander isn’t that much money cut your sanding time down by two thirds lol
Now it’s dry and srunk. You should get some more cans but you got to stand two to three feet back. And dust it all over. Float it on the hood from a step ladder. . Good job man. Couldn’t you order online for half the price. Adios👍
I think the 2 tone would have looked nice, If u left the Hood , Top, & Tailgate Black Shine.. ; hopefully you eventually use the "truck bed" coating,. for what it was actually invented for ; ) and spray the Bed... : )
You done a good job. I'm 'bout ready to do mine, 2006 Ram, You make it look easy, will see what mine looks like I'll Drink a "Cool Beer" after I'm done. You can Check out a job I did, "Georgia Red goes to the show" . I done it 8 years ago.
and yea the canned stuff is no where even close to the actual spray gun kind for raptor. although, i did do my rims in white and they feel like rocks all over it. its super textured way more than the black in my opinion. i loved it.
@@Steeles so i seen another video where they emptied half the bottle and did a red reduction metallic flake and it came out absolutely amazing. might be something to look into. it seriously looked awesome. black is the typical. but black shows every imperfection. white is typical as well but shows less imperfections and also shows dirt way differently than a gloss due to the texture. i heard it gives the textures almost a 3d affect because the dust settles on the lips of the edges of the textures. i have an 09 xb and im going thru a serious debate in my head right now o black or white for the entire car. raptor is considered medium-permanent paint job so...i gotta choose lol

Thanks ya. I appreciate it.
Typically they rust from inside out.
I ain’t seen that. Lol
@@Steeles Maybe only where snow/ice/salt?
@@tommak6516 That maybe it. Lol. They don’t salt anything down here. We just slide around
Just saw part 2 and it came out amazing! Good job sir
Thank ya. Yea I’m happy with it.
The idea about the DIY camo pattern sounds pretty cool. That'll be a good gettin' it done truck, for sure.
Oh yea. May have to see if I can find a truck to paint.

Thanks. Hey so far so good. No peeling. I think the rattle can look’s better than the bigger kits.

Nice job

Thank ya
Looks good buddy ! But that's not the 2k Raptor liner product. I don't think it would hold up long here in northern Vermont climate.
Yea you may need the 2k for that. Lol

dark/camo green would have looked cool too
Yea it would of
Anybody who paints their own truck probably tie dyes their t shirts. Both look good!
lol. My niece did the shirt. Haha.
Great video thanks bro
Thank ya.
You could put 2k clear on it
Yea. I’m just not sure how that clear would lay down over that raptor liner.
@@Steeles it’s actually pretty good Moore Motorsport on here I talk to him and he’s got videos of it he use it all the time

Had my '05 Wrangler done in green Raptor liner. Beautiful, with no regrets.
I bet looks kool
Red bedliner would be the best for the bed
You think so? That probably would look good.
The spray cans suck, you need the air compressor kind
Yea I may use that next time
You are breathing that sanded dust. Not good.
I know. I need to get a mask for that.

Think I’m gonna use the air kit for the bed. Don’t know if I should go black or another color. What you think? Someone said red. Idk.
