Shabba was followed around England for the whole of 2022 by a videographer to document what it's like to be one of the leading jungle and DnB MC's in the game.
This documentary goes in depth about Shabba's career from beginning to now.
With features from many artists and DJs at festivals and raves, we show you how hard Shabba works to stay at the top of the ladder.
This is part 1 featuring festivals and events such at Boomtown, Land Beyond, Garage Nation, Jungle Cakes and Off The Hook.

Yo straight up when I was 15-16 I grew up in a little desert town in Arizona and I wanted to be just like Shabba D the man was my favorite MC. I was 1 or 5 kids who listened to drum and bass within 200 miles haha. Used to have all the tape packs back then of the UK massives. What a time to be alive. I’m 40 now and love seeing this documentary. Glad to see shabba still killin it a true legend

I’ve been to hundreds of raves, events, festivals etc over the years, and shabba is the only mc I’ve met numerous times, who’s actually sat down and had a conversation with me every time, not cos he felt he had to, but cos he wanted to, an absolute legend and a gentleman

Who then introduced us to ya’ll in the UK Brockie, Nicky, Andy C, Mampi, Hype, Bailey, MC’s Stevie Hyper, Skiba, Det, You Shabba, GQ, the list goes on…. I still listen OG Jungle & DnB on the regular. Yeah big up Shabba for keeping it 💯, real talk back in the early days none of us djs or mcs were getting paid, you had to be real tight with the promoters to get any paper, we were just happy to get our names on the flyers.. & pirate radio was definitely the eyes & ears, the social media of the scene.. the Information centre🔥🔥🔥
@@negroantonio28 Exactly and DJs and MCs had to pay subs, pay to cut dubs and buy records. It was more out of love and not a money thing as you know. MCs would make next to nothing on nights but the likes of Shabba and Skibadee (RIP) changed that and also introduced the hourly rate as MCs were made to work all night for as little 30 to 50 quid. Respect to the real ones, to grafters and the unsung heroes of the scene.
@@TakeMeBackPirateRadioaha..lol yeah I remember paying the radio station subs, chasing DATs, paying to cut those dubs at music house, Holloway carrying around those record bags & heavy flight cases, hunting down those promos & limited test presses at the record shops, phoning up records labels to get on mailing lists, rarely getting paid for sets but just greatful for the opportunity to play out..wow.. the grind we put into that scene we defo spent more than we made, but yeah it was for the love of it, very competitive but alot of fun to with it

Shabba was my Number 1 during my younger days of Raving. Even over Hyper D and Skiba. Shabba connected with me much more. I even followed him around a club here in Toronto when I was all twisted on the gear lol. The Spittin Demon!! Legend 🙏

I remember shabba D on Rush FM or as it was also known as Weekend Rush. 91 to 95 era...Shabba along side Steve Hyper D, MC Det, MC Navigator, 5.0, Skiberdee, MC MC really helped boost the Hardcore/jungle rave scene with the greats on the Decks, Nicky Black market, Mampi Swift, Brockie, DJ Ron, Five O, Ash Attack etc.
Remember a Young Shabba working at Paul Ibiza's Ibiza Records in Kingland High Road, Dalston, Hackney, East London... Good Times.. biggup Shabba D Original Hackney Yout.. dun know 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Hands down best Jungle MC for me - ‘96 to ‘98 Shabba would terrorize a set 🔥🔥🔥. Used to smash it on Kool with Skibba and Shockin (SASAS) and would always be a wicked set with him and Funky Flirt. True legend and still going - nuff respect to him. Met him a few times around the late 90’s in my raving days and he was always cool, even in the Sainsbury’s in Stratford when he was pushing a trolly around food shopping lol.

Skibadee and Shabba were like gods when i was growing up as a teen. We would trade tapes at school and formed a junglist crew of about 20. The very second we left school in 1998 we hit the Jungle / DnB clubs and skanked out hard for about 8 years straight until we were all finally burnt out. Those were the best years of my life! 😭
